About this property

Comfortable mid century home

This mid century modern styled home is a 15-20 minute drive to CBD & Airport.

Main bedroom has queen bed, seconds bedroom a queen bed, third bedroom is a king single with a trundler bed. Fourth bedroom is a sleepout joined by decking, with a queen bed, ensuite with bath & toilet.

A comfortable lounge with dining area, apple TV, including Netflix & wifi throughout the house. The lounge opens on to a sunny north facing deck.

We love coffee, records, tea, greenery, decks, gardening, bbqs, beekeeping and cooking! All that is reflected and offered in our modern home. The kitchen is a dream to cook in with a lot of bench space and everything you need to whip up a meal.
The lounge is comfortable and relaxing for a spot of tv watching, with a wide record collection to put on some tunes. Air conditioner and heat pump to suit make the house just the temperature you like! A stocked herb and vege garden for fresh goodies.

Breakfast and basic items are there so you have your first mornings after you arrive sorted. A range of teas and coffee for you to help yourself to.

The house is in a diverse neighborhood, not far from Sylvia Park, a major shopping and the train station. The motorway is accessible and it's about a 20-minute drive to Auckland's CBD and the airport.

Our house is on the same block as the trinity cemetery. We love it as it's quiet but if you have cultural views about cemeteries then look into the location further.

Quiet and comfortable
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The house is in a nice quiet residential area. The house was quite musty smelling when we first arrived but once we aired it out, it was much better. I believe the musty smell comes from all the old books. It could do with a couple of towel bars and a place to sit your suitcase in the sleep out, but otherwise very comfortable beds and homey feel! I would definitely stay here again!

Great for young families
We stayed here for a month with our four young children. Great family home. Great hosts! They offered great recommendations for things to do in the area. All these things were great. House was very clean and had great kitchen amenities for our month stay. Thank you!

Beautiful cosy house with all mod cons
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as the house was exceptional. We have relatives who live in the next street making it easy to catch up. The house has everything a family needs and we'll definitely be back next time. Very clean and decorated in a modern vintage vibe. Recommended to anyone visiting Auckland, New Zealand.

Great house for our first visit to New Zealand
Overall, I would highly recommend this house to anyone visiting the Auckland area. My family enjoyed our stay at the house for our two week long vacation in New Zealand. Nicola is a fabulous host. There were a few things that came up during our stay which Nicola addressed in a timely fashion. I would tell folks that this property is located in an older neighborhood, and we had a few issues with pests. However, I don’t think these things should stop anyone from staying at this lovely house.

Fabulous host
We booked this property for a family of an employee relocating to Auckland. From first point of contact Nicola was so easy to deal with. She was in contact even while they stayed for a month. The house is suitable for the young family we housed & every amenity was available. A great experience for our company & a new employee

Beautiful otahuhu getaway
A beautiful home with lots of greenery! My family and I enjoyed this retro home with a modern twist, it had beautiful hanging and big plants, many records to choose from to play on the record player and a lovely deck to soak up the sun. Nicola was great with communication and very quick to respond. I definitely recommend this property for those visiting Auckland due to its easy access to the motorway and being quite central to everything you need as well as those already living in Auckland looking for a break and getaway from home.

Perfect base for Auckland family holiday
We went to Auckland for a week of family friendly adventures for our kids birthday. This property was perfect for us as a family, enough space for everyone, well set up for family life and great kitchen facilities for family meals. The property is really close to SH1 so can quickly get on your way to all the Auckland holiday hotspots without paying for central city location and with the added benefit of a quieter setting. The house has a really cool retro design aesthetic but is not too precious for kids to be kids. We loved this place and hope to come back.

Hello! We are the Keyworth family, James, Nicola and our three children WIlliam, Georgia and Eliza. We are a young family and for Nicola to be able to stay at home with the kids we have our place on Homeaway!

Why they chose this property

Back in 2016 we subdivided and relocated this home onto site and did a full renovation. We love the classic 1960’s style homes and have modernised areas to make it more user friendly.
The location of Otahuhu is very convenient and accessible to most parts of Auckland.

What makes this property unique

Retro mid-century furniture, great record collection to pop on some great music and a fantastic kitchen to work in.
