Nestled at the base of Mount Blackheath, the 100 acre property is surrounded by magnificent Blue Mountains escarpments, peaceful forest and open native grassland.
With kangaroos, echidnas, goannas, wombats and myriads of birds at your doorsteps with a frog chorus at dusk, this is truly a nature lover paradise and birdwatchers heaven.
Designed and built by well known Australian Potter John Robertson using natural materials and recycled timber, the cottage is completely off the grid, solar powered, with natural spring water on tap.
There are two bedrooms, each has a queen bed, open plan kitchen, one bathroom, a separate dining room and a lounge room with a cosy wood fireplace.
Eco friendly materials are used wherever possible: organic (OEKO-Tex® certified) linen bedding; Australian made wool quilts, mohair throws and duck down pillows; quality cotton towels, hot water bottles and hand knotted woolen Persian rugs are all provided for your comfort.
This is a TV-free retreat.
While WiFi and 4G/5G mobile reception (Telstra, Optus, Vodafone) are excellent here, we encourage our guests to switch off their devices and explore the beautiful Kanimbla Valley. Bring your mountain bikes and go for a ride, try yoga during pink sunsets, meditate under ancient gum trees, go for a horse ride, roll in the mud at the dam :) red clay is highly therapeutic - it cleanses, exfoliates, detoxifies and improves blood circulation! Or just lay back on the veranda with that book that you always wanted to read but never had time, and submerge into songs of Australian birds with butterflies gliding by.
There is so much to see and experience, just let your inner child come alive to play and enjoy nature’s simple offerings.
