Unique Home on Stilts in Hip West Asheville – Minutes from Downtown

Welcome to Grandview Retreat!

This home is only available for stays of six months or more.

WHY I FELL IN LOVE – AND YOU WILL, TOO
As soon as I saw this home, positioned high in the air on stilts, I was intrigued. When I opened the front door and saw the gorgeous views of the River Arts District, downtown and the Blue Ridge Mountains beyond, I was sold.

The house is in a lovely neighborhood and just minutes away from great restaurants in West Asheville and downtown.

WHAT MAKES GRANDVIEW RETREAT SPECIAL?

I love this house and have taken great care to make it comfortable and inviting for you. This 1600 square foot home has been carefully decorated for your enjoyment. There are a collection of photos from a local artist and unique furnishings and artwork from many local Asheville merchants.

There is a relaxing family room to enjoy time with your friends or family. The open kitchen is perfect if you decide to stay in for the evening. The expansive deck has a comfortable seating area, a dining area and grill. The view has to be seen to be believed.

There is a cozy den with French doors - perfect for privacy during a zoom call.

My home has three bedrooms and two full baths upstairs. Curl up on your Sealy pillow top mattress and luxuriate in silky Cuddledown sheets.

The master suite has a queen size bed and shower/tub combination. This bedroom features beautiful long range views.

The other two bedrooms share a bathroom. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other bedroom has two twin size beds.

WHY CHOOSE WEST ASHEVILLE?

This neighborhood is full of the quirky charm that is part of what makes Asheville so unique. There is a mix of houses: old ones, new ones, large homes and small homes. Many are painted in fun colors. There is a great house around the corner that features a beautiful mural on the garage door. In some places in would be out of place, but in West Asheville, it fits right in.

West Asheville has many wonderful and unique restaurants, bars and stores which you will enjoy. However, it is also just five minutes away from both the River Arts District (home to an astonishing array of artist galleries and some of Asheville’s best restaurants) as well as downtown Asheville.

WHO SHOULD CHOOSE MY HOME?

This place is perfect for an individual or couple who want a comfortable, welcoming place for their extended stay in Asheville. (No partying please—I like my neighbors!)

Ready to begin your Asheville getaway?

I look forward to hosting you soon!

Gem!

Grandview Retreat and our host Julie were absolutely terrific. Located on a short, quiet street in a quiet, transitional neighborhood, the house was fresh, clean, and bright. We like to cook, and the kitchen was so well stocked with pots and pans, dishes, bakeware, utensils, and spices, it was like being at home. We both work remotely, so we appreciated the fast, reliable internet service. The beds were the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. With a spectacular view of the City of Asheville, the location was fabulous! It felt like we were always within an easy 10-minute or less drive to anywhere we wanted to go. It was also very walkable. One of us is a regular walker, and it was delightful to be able to walk down the hill to the popular French Broad River Greenway, along the FBRG, and then back up the other side of the hill. Julie was just a text away when we had a question or needed anything and she always responded promptly and helpfully.

Fabulous Stay!

We were very fortunate to stay in Julie’s house for 4 months between June & September 2022. The view of the mountains & River Arts District from the deck is spectacular. The house was immaculate and well stocked. The bedrooms were spacious and extremely comfortable. The location allowed us to walk into West Asheville to many great local restaurants and craft breweries and we were only a short drive to downtown Asheville. Julie was a terrific host and very responsive to the few minor issues that came up. We already miss the house and can’t wait to return next summer!

Mountain sunshine with your morning coffee

This bright, beautiful, comfortable home, literally perched on a ridge overlooking the French Broad River with the downtown skyline in the distance, is ideal for an extended stay. It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, but is just minutes from a myriad of art galleries, restaurants, music venues and craft breweries in West Asheville, the River Arts District, and Downtown. After a month we wished we could have stayed longer.

Awesome property - would definitely stay here again!

From the moment I stepped through the front door, I felt immediately at home. This home is exactly as depicted in the photos. Great location (<20 minutes from everything), quiet neighborhood, fabulous view of the city and mountains. Comfortable in every way. My visiting friends were all very impressed with "my Asheville home" and thoroughly enjoyed their time in the city. Wonderful property, and excellent hostess.

Can’t wait to be back!

Julie’s home was absolutely incredible—from the gorgeous view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, to the beautiful decor, to the amazingly well-stocked kitchen. It seemed like just about everything was a five minute drive, making for a fun getaway full of delicious meals, fun breweries, live music, and lots of nature. Julie was responsive and welcoming from the outset. If we needed anything, she was nothing but warm and helpful. We already miss the month we got to spend there!

Holiday Stay

We loved our stay! Proximity to downtown, River Arts District, and West Asheville in a peaceful, cozy home. We enjoyed walking to dine out as well as to breweries and nearby parks. The house is clean, comfortable, and offers a peaceful vantage point above the French Broad River. Everything about our stay was perfect!

Beautiful home, with great view of Asheville and the mountains, and excellent location.

The house at 32 Grandview was very well appointed, with furnishings tastefully done, back deck with grill, and high end kitchen appliances and cooking items. The house appears well kept and maintained. The location is excellent, about 5 minutes to the River Arts District, and for tennis players, about 10 minutes to the Asheville Racquet Club (downtown). Communication with the owner was done via email or phone text, and all problems (which were minor) were quickly resolved. The house has three bedrooms upstairs, plus a pull out couch downstairs, which made it ideal for our family reunions in October and at Christmas. We intend to come back, as the time period we rented was great, and the owner was very helpful. She provided advice as to restaurants, attractions, and even a gift certificate to one of the premier restaurants downtown.

Modern, Upscale Home with Great Views!

Our stay August of 2017 was fantastic! We enjoyed the beautiful sunrises, watching the kayakers on the river, and, best of all, the beautiful lights of downtown Asheville at night. First-rate accommodations (excellent mattress) and the owner was prompt when responding to our questions. The only drawback is the "funky" neighborhood. But then, you are staying in West Asheville -- home of many artists, musicians and, surprisingly, great restaurants! Our favorites included The Admiral, Owl Bakery, Biscuit Head, and White Duck Taco. Favorite downtown foodie places include Posana, Curate, Chocolate Fetish, and Battery Park Champagne Bar and Used Books. We would definitely stay here again!

Love the house! Love the location! Love the View!

This is a wonderful property in tip top shape. Julie has outfitted the house very thoughtfully. The bedding and linens are as nice as you would put in your own home. If for any reason you tired of eating out, the kitchen has every thing you would need to prepare and serve a meal. West Asheville has great restaurants and a vibrant arts community. The month flew by...I can't wait to go back next year!!!!

Amazing location Awesome Hostess

Julie is an amazing hostess and left information on local products, Farmers Market, grocery stores and restaurants for us. We went to almost all the restaurants and enjoyed every one of them taking visiting friends and family to them as well. The kitchen is well-appointed with all of the equipment you would need including beautiful wine glasses. The deck with it's view is lovely and I enjoyed watching the skate park that is across the river as well as the antique shop activity again across the river and the trains. We found the house to be exactly as pictured on vbro. We would definitely consider staying there again.

Beautiful view from a lovely, well maintained home.

My recent month in Asheville was made even more enjoyable by having a beautiful home to return to after a day of exploring, shopping, driving to nearby towns and after sampling the wonderful restaurants. Julie's photos and description of her home accurately represented what I experienced in person. Fabulous view of the mountains and the downtown Asheville skyline from the master bedroom and living room/kitchen. Clean, tastefully decorated, well-stocked kitchen, central air-conditioning that functioned perfectly during the summer heat and humidity. Towels white and fluffy, great pillows and a comfortable mattress. Very good water pressure in the shower! A very nice bottle of wine greeted me as a welcoming gesture. The coffee table had an assortment of informative magazines and books regarding Asheville's history and restaurants, cookbooks and a folder of nearby activities and maps. She contacted me several times during my stay to see if I needed anything and brought over an electric tea kettle as a previous tenant had mentioned they would have liked one. Although I did not do much cooking, I appreciated having good quality, modern appliances and plenty of pots and pans. My only negative, which I knew in advance, is that there was no covered parking; however, the cement driveway could easily accommodate two SUV's. I would definitely recommend this rental and would definitely rent it again!

Felt at home

Had a wonderful experience staying at Julie's home while in Asheville for for an extended period of time. I was in town for work and the most important necessity for me was that I found a place that my wife and young son would be comfortable in. This house exceeded our expectations. The house is extremely well maintained and equipped with everything we needed (except an electric kettle but Target was only a few minutes away...). Julie went to great efforts to make us feel at home and responded to any questions we had very quickly. If I ever return to Asheville this will be the first place I look to stay at. I'll always have fond memories of this house as it's where my son learned to crawl.

Beautiful home made for a fantastic visit!

This home is amazing!! It is as comfortable and inviting as the pictures depict and the location is perfect. I felt so fortunate to be able to enjoy the views from the back deck every day during my stay. Julie is a pleasure to work with and she is extremely responsive. Additionally, she provides a welcome packet to help orient yourself to the W Asheville neighborhood as well as the city. Given that I was new to the city, I found this very useful. Don't delay, book today. You won't be disappointed!

We loved it here!

This home is as fantastic as it looks in the pictures. The panoramic views overlooking the city and mountain ranges are amazing, both day and night! The home is clean, bright, and open; in a word, "comfortable". Everything provided was of exceptional quality: the beds, the towels and linens, the silverware and dishes, the appliances, the furniture...everything! It only takes 5 minutes to pop into downtown Asheville. Julie was a pleasure to work with. Our highest possible recommendation. The 5 star rating is legitimate!

Fabulous Hone

I have rented numerous homes/condos in the Asheville area, but this one is definitely the BEST! It is very well equipped-with top of the line linens, towels, cookware, and decor. The minute you take in the view off the deck, master bedroom, and beautiful living room-you'll realize the effort this owner took in order to make this your favorite "home away from home". As for the location.....PERFECT! Julie made sure I was content with the accommodations and because of that.....I'll return!

I fell in love with Asheville on my very first visit. I love the people, the unique character, the food and the beauty of the mountains.

Food is my hobby – I love to eat, cook, read about food and talk about food. That makes Asheville pretty much nirvana for me. Bon Appetit magazine recently called Asheville “the best small city to eat and drink right now”.

There are so many great places to eat and drink here that you will never want to leave. I am excited to share my home with you so you can experience all charm of this special city.
