Perched high in the Smokey Mountains above the Blue Ridge Parkway, Wintergreen is a perfect spot for relaxing with friends or for a family gathering. This spacious home in Wintergreen is set back in a lovely copse of trees on the Seventh Fairway of the Devil’s Backbone Golf Course. A ten minute walk through our neighborhood brings you to the Old Appalachian trail where you can enjoy an easy hike along a ridge with spectacular panoramic views of the Shenandoah Valley. Five miles down the Blue Ridge Parkway, discover an array of vineyards and tasting rooms, cider mills, small-batch distilleries, craft breweries, antiques, boutiques and much more. Visit Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s beautiful home outside Charlottesville, VA. Every little town in the area surrounding Wintergreen is quaint and historical.

If winter is your favorite time, first snowfall is usually in early November and as soon as there is an accumulation, hiking trails and golf course cart paths turn into cross country ski trails. Downhill skiing usually runs from mid December through March. During the summer enjoy hiking trails and then cool off in our neighborhood pool or head down to Lake Monacan for a day of fun.

The house on Gray Birch Lane is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. With five bedrooms, 3.5 baths and two separate great rooms, this house was made for entertaining. The master bedroom with king bed is on the ground floor and opens onto a large wrap-around deck where you will find rocking chairs, gas fire pit, and a propane barbecue. Upstairs, one bedroom has a king, two bedrooms each have a queen bed and one bedroom has a set of twins. The upstairs great room opens onto an intimate balcony overlooking the golf course.

If you enjoy cooking, then you are in luck. The kitchen is built and stocked for entertaining. In addition to a five burner gas stove and double ovens, you will find amenities like a KitchenAid Ice Cream maker, a KitchenAid Stand Mixer and a Cuisinart food processor. Hate vacation rentals with mothing but dull knives? You will love the professional knife selection. We've got it all!

Great House, Amazing Host!

What a great house and amazing host! We booked our trip for a party of ten (4 adults, 6 kids) to stay for three-nights over MLK weekend. It was perfectly sized and had all the amenities one could want. The house was clean, organized, and laid out perfectly for both adult and kid enjoyment. Pictures do not do it justice!On top of that, our hosts were amazing. Incredibly responsive and flexible.Highly recommend.

Annual ski vacation with friends!

This home is everything and more! We had an amazing weekend. It was roomy, close to all of the amenities Wintergreen has to offer. It was wonderful to relax hot tub after a day of skiing! Our friends who love to cook were in awe of the kitchen. We absolutely loved this home! Check in was easy, and the hosts made checkout hassle free! A beautiful, relaxing home with plenty of room! We cannot wait to book again this summer and during next year’s ski season! Can’t recommend this home enough! Ten stars!

Just perfect! Perfect House

In all of rentals we have had anywhere, this is the best!! Every detail of the home was perfect & was the ideal house for us!! Pull in garage & unload with no steps into house. Furnished with up end detail. Can’t praise it enough! Gave us the best experience for our Christmas present to our family! Owner even offered it to us a day earlier at no charge - unbelievably generous!

This Sets the Standard

Second time here. Outstanding home with nothing missing. Nothing. Host is awesome. Came by herself to fix an issue, beyond what anyone else would do. Everything was wonderful. Plenty of supplies that others have you bring. This is a 6 star, better than any 5. Do yourself a favor and stay here.

Special Place.

We have had a number of stays at Wintergreen and leave each time talking about this spectacular setting. Gorgeous house

This house is the most well-stocked of any I have ever stayed in. Every appliance one could need is in this house. Great kitchen knives too. We enjoyed the hot tub. Communication with the owner was good. Absolutely no complaints. Comfortable beds. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Wintergreen Home

This home and its location was perfect for my 30th birthday. Home is beautiful and very spacious. We especially loved the perfectly maintained hot tub. The only issue we had was that the internet was down but Kim was very responsive to our concerns and did everything in her power to get it back up and working as soon as possible. She also refunded us some money for the inconvenience. I would book this property again.

Best on the Mountain

Have been renting homes at Wintergreen for several years. This was the best. Immaculate. Great kitchen. Accurate description. All bedrooms comfortable. Firepit and hot tub were great. perfect location for walks and access to hikes and all things Wintergreen. Kim was the best communicator - literally responded in minutes to inquiries. We did not need to contact her much, because she had described the home so well. We already booked a future stay.

Exceptional property, fantastic host!

I can’t say enough about this rental experience. This was the first time we booked an entire home for our family. There were 10 of us, ranging in age from 4-60, and all of us were thrilled with the accommodations and the variety of activities to do. The house was spotless. Everything we could have possibly wanted/needed was there! There was plenty of room for all of us, every space was comfortable and functional. We utilized the outdoor deck/dining tables/fire pit/hot tub daily. Again, everything was clean and ready for use. Kim was everything a host should be. She gave clear instructions about everything that needed to be done from checkin to checkout. I had some questions, and she was always quick to respond and very personable. We used the community pool, went on several hikes, went to some breweries in town, and just enjoyed spending time on the property. The kitchen was amazing, and we found it easy to prepare and serve meals. The beds were extremely comfortable, and all bedrooms were welcoming and had plenty of pillows, blankets, charging stations, etc. Our family is already looking forward to another visit!

Summer hiking

We enjoyed our stay at this home. The place is large and has enough seating for meals all together. The beds were comfortable. There were a lot of kid options available like crayons and games. The hot tub was very clean. The resort is enormous and there are lots of hiking options. I was surprised how much cooler the temperature was at the resort due to elevation. This place has a view of the golf course but not the mountains. To get to the pool it is about a mile away so we always drove a car. The food within the resort is expensive. We did the “green thumb” pizza and loved it.

My husband and I live in Corpus Christi, Texas, part-time and Wintergreen part-time. We were attracted to this area because of its phenomenal natural beauty and historical significance. Our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter live in Washington D.C. so Wintergreen is a nice place for them to get away from the city.

Why they chose this property

The first thing we fell in love with was the over-sized deck. We also liked the large bedrooms and two separate dens so that different activities can be going on at the same time. There are great spaces for gathering as well as quiet places for reading and contemplation. The view is ever-changing with the seasons. And you never know what creature may be frolicking in the backyard: deer, chipmunks, groudhogs, squirrels. You might even see a black bear amble by. We love being able to walk from our house to the restaurant at the golf club, the swimming pool and spa area,
