Welcome to our 400sqft house a few miles from downtown! Large fenced private (not shared) backyard has a retreat feel in the heart of a big city. Walking distance to some of San Diego’s most popular restaurants, parks and craft beer bars. All yard space pictured is for your enjoyment only, and not shared.

Located in South Park/ Golden hill north of the 94 freeway.

*Due to the proximity of the airport, we are directly under the flight path so expect airplane noise. No pets other than dogs

Disappointing Stay with Potential
We recently decided to try vacation rentals after years of sticking to hotels, but this property reminded us why we preferred hotels. Although the rental has potential, our stay was disappointing. Cleanliness: Despite positive reviews, we encountered significant issues. On arrival, we found ants everywhere, forcing us to buy bug repellent for ourselves and our dogs. Even after spraying, bugs, including ants, persisted, including in the bed. When we reported this, the owners asked for photo proof, which was difficult since our priority was to address the problem. We sent a photo of an ant on the bed, but the owner’s dismissive response was, "at least it's just an ant." This was unacceptable and led us to leave a day early. The fridge was dirty and had strands of hair, showing a lack of proper cleaning. We were also asked to remove bed sheets upon checkout, which seemed unnecessary, especially when stains on the pillows and mattress indicated poor hygiene. Amenities: The "Smart TV" listed was outdated and lacked essential streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube, limiting our options after a long day of exploring. An updated TV would improve the guest experience. Parking: The construction next door made parking difficult. A heads-up about this would have been appreciated. Rules and Procedures: We found many expectations excessive compared to hotel standards, making the stay feel more cumbersome than relaxing.

Weekend Business Trip
The location was a short drive to the beach, dog park and downtown. While I was working offsite most of the time there, my husband and our puppy had a comfortable place to stay and relax. This place was within budget and fit our needs.

Great yard, clean dog-friendly house
My husband and I were in town for an event and made a long weekend trip. We stayed with our dog, and there were several great recommendations from the host for dog related activities in the area. The property was clean, the yard and extra room are fun for days/nights in. There isn't much to walk to, except a cute coffee shop a few blocks away. The location is only a 10 minute drive from downtown. The house is rustic and not well insulated, so it's loud when airplanes are landing overhead. We had to wear earplugs and make a white noise setup with our phones to try to sleep, other than that this is a great place to stay while you vacation.

A Golden Hill Gem
This was our first rental experience on Vrbo and I'll say it now, Carrie and their Tiny Canyon Home set the bar extremely high! The rental space was exactly as pictured and appropriately described so if you're looking for a cozy modern cottage nestled on a hillside with some outdoor space, this is the place to go. Clean, comfortable, and immensely dog friendly! On top of a beautiful property, Carrie went out of their way to provide a plethora of recommendations for the area and went above & beyond by also providing additional suggestions as we brought our fur baby with us. Although we ended up having to cut our trip short due to the hurricane, we are already talking about our next stay at this property. We highly recommend this location and Carrie is an incredible host that will make sure you're taken care of!

Perfect Short and Sweet Stay
The location was perfect!! Perfect stay for 2 people visiting San Diego. Bed was COMFY, we didnt use the extra room outside, but the intention was there (we bought wood). But there were a lot of spiders on the yard and porch when we arrived and they were huge, so walking down the walkway at night didnt seem comfortable. We purchased some yard and animal safe bug repellent to comfort us while sitting on the porch. I would advise keeping Night noises on a device as, you can hear the planes and crows in the morning. Overall this is definitely somewhere we would use again and appreciated the comfort of this home. THANK YOU!!

Cute and clean single room home with an abundance of outdoor patio space. Notwithstanding the flight path, very peaceful. Balboa Park and North Park are nearby. Fantastic stay.

Excellent stay at the tiny house
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway with our dog. The house is super cute and decorated nicely. Our dog loved the backyard. Unfortunately, the outdoor furniture down by the fire pit was too dirty to sit on. Other than that, we had an amazing time. The location is very close to Balboa Park. We walked to dinner at Buona Forchetta, which we highly recommend!

Overall a nice and easy stay! Cute & clean studio with a big back yard (as pictured!). All of the basic amenities were available and it was a convenient location, with easy highway access. As mentioned in the description, there are frequent flights, and therefore a lot of flight noise. I brought a fan for white noise at night which helped!
