About this property

Sol, Luxury Accomodation at Caracol Estates

Sol is a lovely casita, a 700 square one-bedroom unit constructed in 2008. It has extensive woodwork and full amenities. Caracol Estates is one of the premium properties in Sayulita, located on a hillside two blocks from Sayulita's town plaza and five blocks from the beach. It has true high speed internet, full security with a gated compound and security lights, along with a 40,000 liter cistern. There is construction to the front of the property, so views are now blocked, but still a very nice mountain view. Views from the pool remains untouched.

Beautiful location, read fine print

Condo is absolutely beautiful and stocked with everything you could need for a trip. City is beautiful and fèels completely safe. Host helped give recommendations for transportation to and from airport. Only complaint we had is the view that drew us in, the breathtaking view from living area and bedroom is now obscured by a huge building. Its not new construction, its abt 5 stories and almost completely blocks entire view. There is a small comment abt construction in the last line of description which was the explanation that we got. Pics should be updated for sure, as this construction has been underway for quite sometime. Other than that, stay was perfect. isbbuilding.communication.

Caracol Christmas

The estate is beautiful, but a lot of steps to haul any heavy luggage. We hiked up and down gringo Hill for the first few days and then we rented a golf cart to get around. The staff on the property were very friendly. The swimming pool was cold and refreshing. Sayulita is a party town and you could still hear the revelers and the music at night. But, for the most part, we had a great stay and the property had everything we needed.

Our stay at Sol

We really enjoyed our stay at Sol. The accommodation for us was excellent. A little bit noisy at night from the city but bearable. Bring earplugs. It’s quite hilly but manageable.

Loved it!

This was our first international vacation in 4 years, and it was wonderful! Sayulita is such a cute town, full of action and excitement if you want it, and quieter spots if that’s what you’re looking for (like us). We spent time every single day in the pool and the palapa. Loved that outdoor space so much! The casita was great. Clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The staff were wonderful and friendly, and JoAnn was super helpful. We took the advice of others and brought ear plugs and were thankful for them. The sound does travel at night. We had a breeze every single day, so found that having the doors open while we were in the casita kept the temperature very comfortable. The a/c was fabulous for sleeping. We highly recommend pizza at La Rustica, it’s the best pizza we’ve had outside of Italy. We also loved Don Pedro’s for a fancier dinner, and yummy inexpensive tacos at Prieto’s. Definitely stroll over to the French bakery on the north side for fantastic croissants. Overall, a fabulous vacation. Thanks for sharing your space with us JoAnn :)

Sweeping sea view

We loved living on top of the hill with such an amazing view of Sayulita and the Pacific Ocean. It's a hike up from the main plaza; good exercise.

Sunny-Lovliness

The Sol Casita at Caracol was wonderful. The casita was clean and very comfortable. The views from the balcony and the pool area were lovely. The casita had a very well equipped kitchen and bathroom. (including an iron and blow dryer!) The on-site staff was friendly and helpful. Communication with JoAnn, the host was quick and efficient. The casita is a 5 min. walk into town or 7 mins. to the main beach. There is definitely a steep, cobblestone hill, but we liked the walk and were not bothered by it. We rented a golf cart for 1 day and returned it early. The only con to the entire stay was the Saturday night music/party noise. Sayulita is a sunny, beautiful, fun town with lots of great food and beaches. Sol Casita is a wonderful place to stay when visiting!

Absolutely Perfect

Casita Sol is an incredible stay. The pictures described are spot on. The view from the deck is incredible. Everything is very clean, the property staff are friendly. The property grounds are very well kept. The access to the pool is a few steps from the casita. Beautiful views from there as well. JoAnn is a great host, and very accommodating. Extremely helpful and responsive. She helped to organize a taxi to Sayulita and back to PV. We felt like the casita was a great place to come back to, from the beach and relax as it is private and quiet. This is a place we would love to come back to.

Sweet Place w/more Pros than Cons

Pros - great views, firm comfortable bed, really good hot water in the excellent shower, the fully equipped kitchen was perfect for us who cook, the wifi excellent and reliable. Everything was superclean, in order and well taken care of. It was so nice to have a private pool and lounge area (shared with the other two units and main house) and it was always clean and garden manicured. The caretakers are friendly, helpful and always made sure we had a good supply of bottle water. We loved the convenient location to walk down hill to Plaza, restaurants and beach. Slight negatives - The music! The closer you get to the weekend, the louder the bar music becomes and it wafts up to the complex. It goes on until 6 am. The first night, a Saturday, it was shocking to us and we thought "oh no!" After that night, however, the music, while it still could be heard, seemed to diminish and by shutting the doors and windows, and using earplugs, allowed us to sleep without too much trouble. Just be forewarned and bring your sleep aids. This isn't the fault of manager, it is just Sayulita. I have no problem with the roosters in the background. We loved that the complex is up a steep hill ("Gringo Hill") and we liked the extra exercise it gave us, but if you are not able to deal with that, then rent a golf cart. We found a cool organic market, Terenal, that has all kinds of good organic veggies and gluten free items. You can walk to this store from the rental without to much ado. We would stay again!
