Let this newly remodeled lake-house "camp" be the beginning of your family's Maine vacation. Come relax along the shore of Branch Lake where you can swim, fish, listen to loons, see eagles and climb rocks. Go explore Acadia, Bar Harbor, Blue Hill and other amazing places less than 40 minutes away - hiking, biking, whale watching, blueberry/strawberry picking, music festivals and much more. Stay in and enjoy the light/bright large open floor plan, summer breezes, lake-house charm with modern conveniences while waves lap the rocks just 30 fee away. We can accommodate groups of 6 guests comfortably (Master bedroom has a king bed, 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, the loft has two twins).

Quiet and serene get away

We loved everything about the cabin! The owner is very responsive and made the experience simple and seemless. The location is perfect and the house has everything you could possibly need to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. It is centralized and convenient to so many great places to visit. The cabin is very cozy and felt like home. We had a wonderful time star gazing and photographing the milky way from Flat Rock. We even captured a bit of the aurora borealis, which we have never seen before! It was amazing to see so many stars in the night sky. We even heard an owl while stargazing. The fall colors were beautiful. Our entire family had a wonderful time and we miss it already! We can't wait to go back.

Fabulous!!

Absolutely perfect cabin the the woods! The pictures do not do justice to this property! The flat rock on the lake was perfect for evening sunsets and cocktails. The proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia was reasonable. We liked being away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Ellsworth had everything we needed. Our hosts had the cabin wonderfully equipped and were responsive throughout the process. We highly recommend!!!

Lovely Cabin!

The perfect place

This place is a picture perfect getaway, Quite, secluded and peaceful. Just the right size for family or just a couple. The only negative is that we had to leave.

Amazing Lakeside Getaway

This place definitely surpassed expectations. The home is comfortable and easy to find. Nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor and Acadia itself but still an easy drive. The flat rock area (a slab of rock which extends into the lake itself) was incredible for watching the sunset. Nothing like waking up lakeside with the water just outside the window. The host was gracious and quick to respond. We had an excellent time. Would absolutely recommend to anyone and would stay there again ourselves in a heartbeat.

A Slice of Heaven on Earth

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this cabin and property. The host was so easy to communicate with and very helpful at all times. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and is located on a beautiful, peaceful lake. The views from the cabin are amazing as are they from Flat Rock. It was so nice to have kayaks and life jackets available to us. The cabin is so cozy and comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer.

The perfect Maine get-away!

This was mine and our children’s first time in Maine, my husband travelled to the Bar Harbor area in his college days with some friends and had always wanted to go back with his family. We stumbled upon this property online and immediately knew this was the place our family should stay. We could have spent the entire time at the cabin on the lake fishing, swimming and kayaking. The property and the cabin itself is like a fairytale. This really is a unique gem of a location! We did venture into Acadia and Bar Harbor for hiking and a whale watching excursion, but by far our favorite days were the days spent by the lake. Thank you Sheree & Jason for opening up your property to us! We enjoyed every minute of our time in Maine and that was greatly because of the hospitality we experienced. We can’t wait to come back again!!

The Best Part of Our Vacation!

Our family will be talking about Flat Rock for years to come. This charming property is fully appointed so we could enjoy everything we wanted to. The kayaks and fishing were a hit, and the views of the lake were picture perfect. Communication with the host was seamless. We were close enough to town to grab what we needed, but far enough away to feel like we had our own little spot of paradise. Anyone considering this listing to take in Bar Harbor and Acadia should book now!

The unexpected family vacation you need to take!

What a beautiful piece of property nestled right on Branch Lake. The cabin was spacious with everything you need from home to enjoy your stay hassle-free. We took in all scenery, enjoyed some great hikes, cooled off in the lake, and filled up on fresh Lobster and blueberry pie. You don't want to miss out on an opportunity to stay at Flat Rock.

Rest and Relaxation!

This property was a perfect place for my husband and I to celebrate our anniversary and rest/recharge from our hectic lives. The cabin is located on the lake, with access to kayaks, fishing, or bringing chairs to flat rock to read and soak in the sun. The cabin is clean and well appointed, including the basics needed to cook a meal or shower after a day on the lake. The neighborhood is quiet, perfect place to get a restful vacation and a good night’s sleep. Communication with the renter was prompt and effective. I would not hesitate to book a stay at this property again.

Absolutely stupendous getaway!

I am so impressed at this property! It’s so serene and private. The checkin/out instructions, communication and contract were so thorough and appreciated. Waking up to the view of the lake every day has us feeling so restored. This property turned me into a morning person! I was so excited to get out in the kayaks every day. If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs due to the heating unit in the main bedroom closet going on and off, but it didn’t bother us at all. I really appreciated the little touches too, like the dimming lights, the glider chair, the Keurig, the chairs outdoors, and in particular the memory book that has tips and fave activities from past guests. We read through it on our first night and that helped us decide what to do. Best. VRBO. Stay. Ever. Thank you, Sheree!

Peaceful Oasis

If I were describe Sheree's beautiful cabin in two words it would be 'Dream Home'. This stunning property is located next to Branch Lake; from the charming details to the large windows with scenic views it was nothing short of amazing! Sunset Heaven

Flat rock was a wonderful stay in a cozy camp with an eclectic feel, like grandmas house but on a lake in Maine. Well-stocked kitchen and enough space to spread out for 4-6 people. We visited relatives in Ellsworth so the location was perfect, close to family and Acadia national park.

Would Come Back Again

We had a great experience. The house was beautiful and so well equipped, much better than other houses we've stayed at. The kitchen was well stocked, and we loved that there was plenty of games, puzzles, and books available. There was plenty of chairs to take out to the rocks and enjoy the lake. It was so peaceful there, and we really enjoyed our stay.

My husband's grandfather built this camp in 1940. We recently purchased the cabin and have spent many months renovating it. We added AC/ heating, an extra bathroom, new electrical and plumbing, washer and dryer, many new windows and flooring. We love Flat Rock (which is an actually place on the backside of the cabin, for which is got it's name!). And we can't wait to share it with you....
