The location is one of a kind lodging opportunity in Mammoth Lakes, capturing the western feel and mining heritage of the area. With 360-degree unobstructed mountain views, the property provides solitude while being located just on the edge of town and within walking distance to nearby restaurants and shopping. Arguably the single best location in Mammoth Lakes for stargazing, sunrises, and sunsets. Located on Forest Service land the property is near Sherwin Creek and the historical Hayde Cabin Museum. Cabin was warm and clean when I arrived. Perfect place to getaway and enjoy the area. Close enough to open terrain to hike/walk in the snow and enjoy nature. Would definitely stay again.
We felt so cared for by the communicative host. Checking in on us and providing missing items very promptly. The location is within walking distance to the town, and the cabin was adorable. We would definitely stay here again.
Loved staying here in a cute little cabin on the ranch. The views were absolutely spectacular and the cabin had everything we needed to cook dinner each night with the groceries and supplies we brought. Super comfy bed and cute restaurant on property. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We loved our stay here. The cabins are clean with sweeping views of the mountains surrounding Mammoth. These are the best views in Mammoth. Every day and evening the sunrises and sunsets were so spectacular that my husband took photographs daily.
Our host Mark was so friendly and responsive to our every need. The cabins are a bit rustic, but that didn’t bother us at all. We felt cozy and comfortable there, and we discovered a new favorite restaurant in Dos Alas, located on property.
It is close enough to walk to town, but it is far enough away from the hustle bustle of town. And we were there during the busiest time of year, between Christmas and New Years. We will be back!
Fantastic location, night sky almost unbeatable!
Owner really available and kind! Shower is a little compact... this does not affect our overall 5 star rating! Village is super accessible and surroundings soo scenic! 😊

I am the General Manager of this amazing property. I have been regularly coming to Mammoth Lakes since the age of 4, when my mother and father brought the family skiing from southern California. I made the move to Mammoth permanently in February 2006 and have been in property and hospitality management during that time.
Why they chose this property
This property has an amazing history to it. There is nothing like it in the town of Mammoth Lakes. Guests here will enjoy having their own unit, with no shared walls. The views afforded from the ranch are plentiful, whether you are looking up at the stars, across the open meadows, the sunrise, and sunset, or the mountains that surround the property.
What makes this property unique
Unlike the majority of other lodging options; hotels, motels, and condominiums, the Ranch offers our guests a true mountain feel and experience.
