perfect for the kids

The outside space and water was perfect for our grand kids. Although the cottage is small it had everything we needed. Communication with Sharon was easy. Would stay again.

Cottage on beautiful Little Lake

We loved our stay at this quaint cottage. Sharon, the host provided all the amenities anyone could want including kayaks, paddleboard, floaties, tubes, peddleboat, hammock, swing, adorondack and lounge chairs, sandy beach and more. The floating dock was a huge hit with our family. We were able to sit on the dock and float around the turqoise waters. You feel like you're in the tropics with the colour of the water. The bunkie was great for when the kids came. Communication was great whenever I had questions. I have only a few suggestions: provide a welcome book for guests with tv instructions, passwords, etc. Stairs or steps on the dock would be great as well or a path to the beach. This was a bit challenging for my 74 year old mother. Overall, we LOVED our stay. The cottage is decorated with intricate details and good taste. We can't wait to go back. Thanks Sharon.

My Favourite Rental

This is the 2nd time I have rented this cottage and am really impressed with the ongoing improvements. There are many recreational amemities availableThe beach and lake are great for kids as it is sandy and shallow. The cottage is a short drive into Brighton for all your shopping needs. Highly recommended for couples or small families.

Had a great trip

The cottage is small so up to 4 people I would say max., But the beach is amazing and so warm in Aug. Perfect for kids as young as babies. Everything you would need is there. No air conditions so that did suck because the weather when we went was in the 40's but we just did lots of night swims. Overall it was a cute tiny cottage where using the outdoors is the main goal of the vacation.

Life is better at the ( Little) Lake

Our family had a great time at this clean, updated cottage. We enjoyed the water, kayaks and fire. I would recommend for families of any age, but especially with younger children because of the sandy shallow waters. That being said, my husband and I , and our 3 teenage children loved being out in the water. It was a very relaxing time!

Great lakeside spot

We had a great time at this cottage. The lake is excellent, it is shallow, clear, warm water with a soft sandy bottom, ideal for our young child to swim and play in. The cottage itself is small and minimal, but has everything you need including a good internet connection. The back outdoor space is great, there is large covered patio with a very nice picnic bench and patio seating. There is also lots of seating close to the water that is nice, and lots of grassy space to run around on. The waterfront is not a beach. It is a grassy area with a large sand rectangular area within it. The sand is nice for kids to play in, just is not a beach, more like a large sandbox. Access to the water is via a dock, but the water is very shallow for quite a ways out. Sharon was a great host and very easy and pleasant to communicate with. We had a minor issue at the beginning of our stay that Sharon was great about clearing it up for us. The 401 Highway runs right next to the lake. It did not bother us but you can hear it, especially at night. Overall, its a great lakeside cottage, and Sharon has provided everything you need to enjoy it. Would recommend!

Another quality visit

We (myself and two young kids) had stayed last year, and had such a nice stay that my kids specifically asked to come back! That was not an issue, I was happy to contact Sharon again. The cottage is cozy-sized, and the bunkie and redecorated backyard were extra special features. We were glad to waste the days away touring about the local attractions or just lounge in the peaceful waters. Neighbours were also lovely.

A fantastic stay - highly recommended!

So much good to be said about our stay at Sharon's cottage. My kids (10 and 7yrs old) and I stayed for one week in late August. Happy to say this cottage had it all - easy to get to, well-stocked and furnished, and the location! Oh my goodness! A backyard that doesnt quit - with the sandy shallow beach that went out forever, very kid-friendly, so this mom had no worries about her kids spending hours upon hours in the water (which they did!) We made full use of the kayaks and water/sand toys (very well stocked) and my boy made a castle each day in the great sandpit. We ate on the floating dock as much as we could - which was such a treat. Inside, the kitchen was well stocked and the rooms cozy. My daughter loved staying in the outdoor bunkie - she said it was like her own little house. And Sharon was great to correspond with - very quick and informative, clearly she wanted to make sure her guests were comfortable. Highly recommend this cottage - and wouldn't hesitate to return, it's the perfect place to soak up a good ol' Canadian summer.

Amazing Vacation!

We had an incredible time staying at this cottage. The location is beautiful and quiet! Little Lake is a charming spot with crystal clear and clean water. We had a lovely time spending our days hanging out in the lake and on the floating dock. Most days it felt like we had the lake to ourselves. The cottage is charming and sweet! It was the perfect size for our family and had everything we needed for our stay. Sharon was fantastic to deal with and always quick to respond to messages. This was exactly what we were looking for in a vacation. One of the best vacations we have had as a family.

Chalet vacation

As a family of 4 we spent 2 weeks at this cozy chalet and really enjoyed ourselves. The lake is beautiful and perfect for swimming. It is also ideal for children as it has shallow water at the beginning and a lovely warm temperature. The chalet was well equipped with 2 cozy bedrooms and a small extra cabin with another bed. My 6 year old especially enjoyed playing in the large sandpit area and my daughter made daily use of the paddle board. We all enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. The homeowner was extremely friendly and very quick to respond to any questions we had. The only minus was the noise from the traffic on the highway otherwise our stay was perfect!

Property owner ruined our stay...

Between the misleading information on the posting and the inappropriate behaviour from the property owner, here are my pros and cons based on my experience/stay: Cons: • The location is minutes away from the 401, you can hear the traffic and watch the transport trucks pass all day and night • The fire alarm goes off spontaneously every 15 minutes or so • The second bedroom has a hot water tank right beside the head of the bed • The grass is cut every Wednesday (at 7:30 in the morning right beside your window, enjoy) Next, my experience dealing with the property owner: • Property owner had her “friend” show up unannounced while we were relaxing in our bathing suits out back, and threaten to have the police come and remove us from her property (we literally were sitting, quietly, eating our lunch) • Used profanity and screamed at our guests over FaceTime inappropriately and it was unsolicited, we are all respectful adults Pros: • The lake is indeed warm and without weeds • The floating dock can be enjoyed all hours of the day • The price/night is cheap As you can see, the cons outweigh the pros. Thanks, Sharon, for ruining our only vacation we have been able to experience since the pandemic started. We even left a day early to get away…

Amazing stay at this cozy cottage !!

We absolutely loved our stay at this very nicely renovated cozy cottage! Initially we were concerned that it may be too small but we had a party of 6 - 3 Adults and 3 Children (ages 5-10) and really we had enough space for all of us. Our 7/10 year olds slept in the renovated bunkie and absolutely loved having their own house. The bunkie is located very close to the main cottage. The cottage grounds are immaculate and very well Maintained. The kids loved running around on the grass in the bare feet and would play badminton daily. The cottage itself was very nicely renovated. The cottage was also equipped with high speed internet which came in handy for my husband who owns his own business. We were also worried with the heat wave that we may be hot in the cottage but we never were - we were always very comfortable. We loved sitting on the deck which was nicely shaded by trees and the gazebo. The bar fridge on the deck was a very nice touch as all of our drinks could be stored in there while using the fridge in the main cottage solely for food. There are more than enough chairs outside to keep everyone comfortable. The beach area was so much fun for the kids and provided countless hours of entertainment for our little ones. The lake was absolutely amazing and perfect for all ages! Sandy shores all the way out with it staying shallow for quite a ways than gradually getting deeper. While we were there the water was 90 degrees - so warm and clear. We would be in the water all day until about 8pm everyday as it was so warm and inviting. Really can’t say enough about the swimming. We used all the water toys (kayaks, noodles, floaties and SUP board and the floating picnic table was so much fun!!) and had campfires right on the waters edge. The cottage has everything you need and more and is suitable for all ages from children to seniors as the land is flat and short proximity from cottage to water made everything very convenient. Sharon was amazing to deal with and so kind. She was very responsive from initial Inquiry and then booking which made everything very easy and stress free. If I had any questions during my stay she always responded right away. Thank you for letting us experience this little gem of a cottage we absolutely loved our stay and we will be back in the summer of 2021!! Kerry L. And Family

This was my family cottage growing up! My parents always liked to see people enjoy this little gem as do I. I have totally renovated it and made it very comfortable for any age group.

What makes this property unique

This property is such a gem as the water is so clean and warm with a sand bottom and a gradual walk-out. This is safe for very young children and for non-swimmers.
You are literally minutes to town for shopping, cafes, concerts, ect, and yet so close to the wineries, sand banks, the Big Apple, and great restaurants..my favorite is Gabbles. :)
