Welcome to Villa Tortuga! Tortuga means "turtle" in Spanish. It is a gated, well maintained property in a well-established neighborhood in Christiansted. This lovely home sits on just under an acre of lush, tropical paradise. Brilliant flamboyant trees and sea views greet you as you enter through the gate. Your first steps through the front door of this vacation paradise draws your eyes immediately to the spectacular view. As you step out onto the newly built, incredible 1000 square foot deck, the views become even more breathtaking. The expansive deck has several vignettes to enjoy breakfast, dinner, relax, read a book or soak up the sun. The views this home have are paramount. On clear days you can see St. John to the left. As night falls, the view becomes a stargazer's paradise. The home decor is both elegant and tropical. It has dark mahogany furnishings, accented with vibrant Caribbean colors. There's a 50" flat screen TV in the living room (complete with Netflix) and a flat screen TV in the master bedroom. The master bedroom also features an en suite bathroom. Each bedroom has a queen size bed. Villa Tortuga is serene and peaceful, yet it's only 5 minutes from downtown Christiansted, shopping and restaurants. If you choose to cook at home, Villa Tortuga is also only a few minutes away from the local supermarket. Open the doors to your Caribbean getaway at Villa Tortuga!

Dream Honeymoon at Tortuga!

When we arrived, we were stunned by the beauty of the property! It feels like you're in a secluded tropical oasis and the view from the balcony is priceless. We spent a lot of time just looking out across the island throughout the day. The home is incredibly quiet and peaceful - we did not want to leave. The inside of the home is open with high ceilings, nice rooms, and great showers. We enjoyed the 3 setting rain shower in the master room! The Jacuzzi was also a wonderful touch especially on our honeymoon and after adventuring during the day. One suggestion would be providing a more invited and welcomed guest feel - at times it felt like we did not always have ready access to what we needed. For example, working batteries for flashlights during the power outage or a newer, more user-friendly coffeemaker. Very minor things though. We absolutely would return to Villa Tortuga! We were so sad to leave and would love to go back one day.

Stunning views and beautiful property

We came here for a long weekend and already are looking to come back! This property is in the perfect location with an absolutely unbelievable view of town! Amazing House with Amazing View

We had a lovely stay at this house for a week. James was very responsive with any questions we had. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was fully equipped. House is beautifully decorated with nice furniture. The most scenic drive was out towards Point Udall and around the southeast shore. The prettiest beach was Carambola. You can park just before the entrance and take the stairs down through the resort. The best swimming beach was Sandy Point out by Frederiksted. There’s also a really good restaurant on the beach, called Rhythms at Rainbow Beach. We also had two friendly cat brothers who came to visit us every day. I would definitely stay here again.

Central Location with Amazing Views

We loved our stay at Villa Tortuga! The home had lots of nice accommodations including beach towels, water bottles, beach chairs etc. The location is great - outside of busy Christiansted but also a quick drive to amenities. Also very easy to drive to Frederiksted/Cane Bay etc. We spent a few nights in the hot tub relaxing after long beach days which was such a nice addition. The gate/house code was easier to figure out. If you type in "Villa Tortuga" into Google Maps, it navigates you right to the house which is helpful in the dark! If we return to St Croix, we will certainly stay here again!

Private home with scenic views

We had a lovely stay at Villa Tortuga. While near Christiansted, the property is very private and secluded with gate entry. Situated upon a high hill, views of the harbor are splendid. We did not miss a sunrise, which can be enjoyed from the deck or living room, which has expansive windows and sliding glass doors. The kitchen had a few items to help us get started, which we appreciated. The host was very responsive to all of our questions. If you don’t mind a bit of a hike, go to Jack and Isaac’s beach. Stunning!

Beautiful View

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. We spent a lot of time on the beautiful deck in the hot tub, dining, or just gazing at the view. The house was nicely furnished, with plenty of beach towels and bath towels. We also used the sand toys, nice beach chairs, snorkel gear, and washer and dryer. The beds were very comfortable and sleeping with the breeze coming in was the best! We would recommend this house to anyone! Thank you James!

Fantastic home

From the moment we pulled up to the gate The property was absolutely beautiful. The house is meticulously maintained. The views were spectacular and James was great communicating with us. The home had everything we needed and for being the 3rd place we stayed on our two week visit to the property we got some much needed relax time, we would definitely like to stay here again on our return visit.

Amazing views

We were on St Croix for 2 weeks and stayed at Dan and Frans for the second week. Dan was a great host reaching out to us with check in instructions days before arrival at his house. He was prompt in response and addressed our needs via message quickly. Views were spectacular and house was perfect for our 3 kids under 10. We loved the pool and caught every sunrise on the deck. Location was central to allow us to hit all parts of the island in 20 mins. Neighborhood was safe with guard at the entrance. Truly a great spot!

Husband was very happy

Villa Tortuga was a fabulous place for our family to stay while on the island. It was just as described online, was clean and fairly priced. As soon as we stepped onto the deck upon our arrival, my husband was so happy with the villa and the location. From the deck, you can see both sides of the island. All in all our experience was absolutely great. James was so easy to work with and was always quick to respond if I had a question. The home was clean, beds felt great, showers worked well, kitchen was nicely equipped. If we make it back to St. Croix, you can bet I will be checking to see if Villa Tortuga is still available!

Very nice stay with beautiful views

We had a very nice stay here. House was nice, views were amazing, and we felt safe here. The hot tub was really nice and the beds were comfortable. Kitchen had all the necessities. The reason I give a 4 star rating is because of the cleanliness. When we arrived, there was hair on the toilet seat and in the sink and the floors were dirty. Other than that, the place was great.

Gorgeous Views & Perfect Location

This property had stunning views of Christiansted and its harbor as well as the eastern side of St. Croix, with the most beautiful sunrises in the morning! It had a great central location to everything on the island, which made it easy getting around. There are air conditioning units in both bedrooms, which was very nice and greatly appreciated, the rest of the house is open air, with breezes coming through all the open windows. The home was well equipped with everything you needed, and even had beach chairs, towels, and snorkel gear for a fun day at the beach. The owner, James, was very responsive, and helpful to us whenever needed.

Perfect St. Croix Experience.

We spent 10 days here - perfect pick! We travel a lot and this is one of the most user-friendly experiences we have had. James is super responsive, the house is in a great locaton...close to Christianstedt, yet totally private, easy access to the entire island, great parking, and easy driving overall. As the pictures indicate the deck is amazing, as are the views (one tip, if you like dry cushions, you might want to pull them in at night as overnight showers seem to be frequent : ) The hot tub - super fun way to watch the stars/moon and city lights after dark. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, also lots of towels, beach chairs, snorkling gear and more. I always want to know about the bed - very comfortable! We only used air conditioning in the bedroom at night - other than that, no need for it! The house isn't super new construction, but it is well maintained. We seldon watch TV while vacationing, but did watch a few Netflix movies, which was nice. I spend a lot of time researching where we stay and do read the reviews. This is a location I would definitely recommend if you like space, comfort, cooking, privacy and low-key vacationing. There are many good grocery stores near by and restaurants within 10-15 minutes of the house. We ate out a few times, but the view from our deck was so great - it was hard to want to be anywhere else for dinner!

Gorgeous views!

We loved our stay at Villa Tortuga! Beautiful views, great location, prompt communication with owner. We spent our days out diving and beaching. This was such a great property to end each day looking down at the boats and watching Christiansted lighting up for the night. Enjoyed the hot tub. The bedroom air conditioning was much appreciated. Exceed standards!

Wow! This place felt like we were at home! Quiet, beautiful, relaxing, and the view is breathtaking! James was beyond awesome as a host! I work in the healthcare industry in Atlanta and Ramon is an IT manager. I'm a military brat and have lived in many places here and abroad. I started going to the Caribbean about 20 years ago. After many trips and several islands later, we decided to buy a home on St. Croix. Ramon is originally from Trinidad and Tobago, so moving to St. Croix was like going home for him. This island is the Caribbean's best kept secret. We hope you enjoy this jewel of an island as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

When looking for a home in St. Croix, we couldn't decide if we wanted a great view or more land. Fortunately with this property we were able to get both! The property is about an acre with incredible views of the both the ocean and hillside.

What makes this property unique

Although Villa Tortuga is only 5 minutes from downtown Christiansted, it is in a very tropical setting that is both serene and private. It's such a beautiful space.
