About this property

Pet Friendly Beach Shack, one street from the Silver Sands Beach

MyShak must be the "beachiest beach shack" in Mandurah. And it was awarded Stayz W.A Pet Friendly Property of the year for 2012. It was also a finalist in 2014 and 2015.

The location is great too with the beautiful Silver Sands beach just around the corner and plenty of amenities nearby.

This quirky ocean themed house is a truly unique oasis and guests say that they feel 'on holiday' the minute they walk through the door. The rooms are colourful and adorned with craypots, surfboards and sea-creatures that delight and enchant both young and old!

The house comprises of three comfortable bedrooms, one bathroom with separate toilet, air-conditioned lounge, separate dining room, and a spacious, well-equipped modern kitchen.There are a variety of books, DVDs and games for indoor entertainment and a flat screen TV in the lounge.

The large, fully fenced, shady rear yard provides a play area for children and pets. There's a paved section too, with a timber gazebo, a jarrah outdoor setting, a 4 burner BBQ and a double hammock bed. The front balcony has two sun lounges and partial ocean views.

The long, wide driveway has ample space for your boat or caravan.

There is a Sea kayak available for guests use (at your own risk!)

Pets are welcome. (There is small doggy-door from laundry to exterior.)

A long stretch of uncrowded dog friendly beach is only a three minute walk away.

MyShak comfortably sleeps six people.

Very suitable for romantic get-aways or family fun.

BYO bed linen and towels. These items can be provided at an extra charge, upon request.

Sorry but our cottage is not suitable for schoolies.

Early check-in and late check-out can often be arranged. On request and subject to availability.

In order to help us minimise costs, we ask that all guests carry out the appropriate cleaning before their departure. The property should be left in the same condition it was found on check-in. Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage.

Please be aware that I'm currently accepting bookings for no more than 3 months in advance.

The ultimate Beach Shack
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay “My Shak”! The beach shack had everything we required- a well equipped kitchen, fabulous eating outdoor areas, basically all the comforts of home. I really enjoyed the outdoor shower.Position - one block from the beautiful beach. A short drive to IGA and restaurants - Check out the restaurants on Dolphin Quay - a great view on the water. As for the decor- WOW - it is very “Beachy”. The photos do not disappoint! Denise is excellent with communication.

The house and facilities were absolutely wonderful… it had everything both inside and outside that you needed for the perfect stay including the beach just right around the corner. A real home away from home with amazing attention to detail. Thank you, this was just what we all needed

A fabulous place with a wonderful host
We so loved staying at The Beach Shack - the property is full of character, has everything you need and more and was perfect for our stay. Denise could not have been kinder and, when she found out that our 'pet' was a cat, not the normal dog she responded "Oh wow - what a nice addition to our holiday home! I don’t think we’ve ever had a cat stay before"... Now we are back on our boat we will definitely be recommending The Beach Shack AND Denise to all our future visitors that are not keen to stay with us on the water.

Authentic Beach Shack Experience in a Great Location
We had a wonderful holiday at My Shak Beach house in Silver Sands WA. The house was very well equipped and furnished to suit the beach shack theme. It’s also within walking distance to a gorgeous beach and very close to Mandurah.

Another Successful Stay
We decided on a pre-Xmas holiday to celebrate a birthday and include our dog. We've stayed at MyShak previously and had no hesitation in booking again. The house is in a great location - close to the beach and not too far from central Mandurah. Depending on the weather and wind direction, you can choose to spend your evening on the front elevated decking or the rear gazebo. Our dog loved the decking. Denise responds to emails very quickly and we would not hesitate in returning or recommending MyShak to other people.

Great stay - close to the beach
The Beach Shack has all that you need to be comfortable. It is dog friendly (something that our snoodle really enjoyed and from the dog's point of view there is a great dog beach nearby as well as a good human beach. Supermarket and liquor store are within easy walking distance, as is the centre of Mandurah

My Shak is the best ever shak anywhere
An absolute delight. Love the upgrades. Spent loads of time on the verandah. Can't wait to come back again and again and again. What a gem. Thankyou so much for a glorious time .

Great dog friendly family holiday.
Fantastic location for visiting the 'off the radar' locations that you want to find on holiday e.g. Gilbert and Son. Myshak gave everyone their own areas to relax and unwind, but also areas to come together to enjoy a meal (e.g.the balcony) or a boardgame (the dedicated game room). A five minute walk takes you to the local beach and donut van for holiday breakfast and coffee. Only one star less- than- perfect for cleanliness as the accommodation is quirky and eclectically staged meaning that you may receive occasional visits from insect species you may never have encountered before, and the local birds roost under the patio. Our hound was given lots of room to roam the backyard without fearing he could get into the street. I'd go back and do it again tomorrow if I could.

Beyond expectations!
We spent six days in the beach shack. We loved it the minute we walked in. It's quirky and fun! The big backyard was heaven for our dog Watson. The location is perfect! Close to everything including an off leash beach. You can't ask for more! The kitchen is well stocked too! Denise was a pleasure to communicate with and nothing was a problem.

PERFECT LOCATION
For us it was perfect location ,granddaughters just down the road , beach short walk around the corner ,quiet street , 5 min drive to Mandurah for shopping, tavern within walking distance everything you need within a short walk or drive, we love the house perfect beach shack.
