Great Place to Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apt. location and facilities were great; convenient to stores and services, though in a rural environment. Excellent wildlife viewing. Fay and Marc provided excellent service.

Best weekend escape!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this special gem! We could not had been happier with Cardinals Inn! It was the perfect setup for a romantic weekend. The location to downtown Asheville was fantastic. Faye thought of every convenience you would want and then some ( super plush linens!) We have found our forever place when visiting Asheville!

Great location, high end furnishing, attention to detail, absolutely beautiful surroundings

This property was probably the most well stocked place we have ever stayed. We could not believe that our every need was thought of in advance. Spotless, good linens, great bed, and a private hot tub. We especially liked the location. We were able to get anywhere in 15 minutes and it was very quiet and easily accessible, no steep inclines-uncommon in many mountain rentals. The combination of all these things makes this an outstanding property. The owners go far above and beyond in Their management style. We will be back for sure.

Amazing getaway in Asheville!

My husband and I vacationced to Asheville for our 5 year wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have picked a more perfect place. It was a short drive to downtown but secluded in the country which was awesome. The hot tub was amazing at night to watch the yard fill with fire flies. The apartment itself had everything we needed and more. Fay also was super responsive with any questions I had. Would love to come back again!!!!!

Great space close to downtown, but feels like you're in the middle of nowhere

Loved Mark & Faye's property! The rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. The two twin bed/couches in the family room were really comfortable and loved the bedroom pillows. It was sweet to have the hot tub and a good outdoor space to enjoy a nice spring day. Other sweet touches included heat light in the bathroom, hair dryer, & robes. It was a really short drive to downtown and hiking spots. Thanks for a great getaway for friends!

Very Cozy

We loved our stay here! The hot tub was the best part of the trip, especially after all the walking we did at the Biltmore. There are even bathrobes and flip flops for your use if you forget yours. The view from The hot tub was nice especially with the full moon. I bet it's even better in the Summer/Fall! The kitchen was perfect for our pre Easter dinner and we loved the free keurig coffee for our breakfast. I have nothing bad to stay about this place!! We recommend it, especially if you are going to do wine tasting, since uber is so cheap and you are so close to everything. My only recommendation is bring slippers! The tile floor is beautiful and clean, but gets cold in the morning!

Awesome property. Great location. Lengthy registration process.

The house here is fantastic. Lots of space. Very comfortable. It seemed to be only 11 minutes from all the places we wanted to go. Only drawbacks were it was pretty easy to hear the people above us and the process to get the address and check in were lengthy (lots of unnecessary back and forth with the owner). Even still i would definitely recommend this place.

Very convenient to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. Very clean and comfy. The unit had everything we needed. Enjoyed having the hot tub right outside of the door. We would stay again and recommend others to stay! Thank you Fay!

A wonderful, relaxing retreat!

The apartment was beautiful and SO relaxing. I loved being surrounded by nature and yet so close to town. Relaxing in the private hot tub under the stars at night was the perfect way to end each day, and the personal touches in the apartment made it extra special: over sized towels, coffee provided, a very comfy bed with soft sheets, and a host who was responsive and helpful but still respected my space. Thank you Fay! I'm looking forward to returning!

Long weekend in the mountains

Great little cottage! Very clean and had all the amenities we needed for a long weekend. Pictures are very accurate of what the place actually looks like. The outdoor patio was nice--comfy seating and the hot tub was great! Upstairs tenant can see hot tub from their window, so it is not fully private but was nice to not have to share the hot tub w/ other vrbo renters. Great location-close to downtown, Blue Ridge Pkwy, and hiking (depending on where you are planning to hike. We had trouble finding the place as we were arriving in the dark and Faye was very helpful. We would certainly stay here again .

Great place! Highly recommend.

This was our first visit to Asheville. We normally stay at hotels but wanted to get out of that rut and wanted a more authentic experience while there. We did. We certainly wouldn't have had the chance to observe a close up of a mama bear and her cubs from a room at the Holiday Inn! Instead of our hot tub! After a day out enjoying nature around Asheville it was so nice to come back to the Cardinals Inn House apartment. It was clean, comfortable, cozy and very private. And I loved the unique decor. Instructions for check in were very clear (although I didn't read carefully enough to locate the entrance of the apartment My fault.) But Marc and Fay were very gracious and helpful. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a pleasant, quiet out of the way place yet very close to downtown. Alice S Knox, PA

Wonderful place, Great location

We stayed at the Cardinals Inn for a two-night weekend getaway. Definitely recommend the automated check-in, it was an easy process and very helpful, as we settled in late after a concert in Asheville. After a 7 minute drive from town, just as described, we arrived at the Inn. The apartment was extremely clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the living area is spacious and comfortable. The linens were very comfortable, and plenty of towels were provided for the two of us. There is a washer and dryer provided, which we didn’t need, but would be very helpful for longer stays. On our second day, we made a trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is a very short distance from the Inn. After some light hiking, it was nice to soothe our muscles under the night sky in our own private spa on the patio. We unfortunately were too tired to wake up and enjoy the breakfast that Fay and Marc provide, but we hope to enjoy it next time! Fay was very responsive whenever we had a question or needed to relay information. We did get to meet Fay and Marc just before we checked out, which was nice since we missed breakfast. They were excellent hosts and we hope to return soon to Asheville and to the Cardinals Inn.

Excellent hosts!

We had an excellent weekend getaway. Marc and Fay were fantastic hosts, and made us feel right at home. Breakfast is great, and the homemade jams were so good that we bought some to take home. Overall, a great property that we would certainly book again.

Great Rental for great price

Wow-amazing! Wish I could give more than 5 stars. From start to finish, Fay was so nice, welcoming, helpful and professional. The rental was great-not downtown Asheville, but just a short drive or uber away, with the added bonus of beautiful views. The property was exceptionally clean (and I consider myself a clean freak!) and well appointed with anything we could have needed. The hot tub was especially nice in the evening! Fay was great to rent from-she answered all questions and worked with me on additions/changes with nothing but happiness! She also gave us great shopping and dining recommendations. Overall, I can't recommend this property enough for a trip to Asheville! Thank you for a great vacation!

Suited Every Need

Loved Fay and her quaint, quiet property. She was extremely thorough in welcoming my husband and daughter to the apartment, also in going over every detail of amenities. The coffee machine (and organic coffee) was great! Have to rave over that considering I have a 9 month old, haha. I recommend bringing milk so that you can use the steamer to make your lattes! We watched a gang of turkey peck around the yard one morning. No sights of the bobcats or black bears, but it was still fun to be on the lookout for them while relaxing outdoors. Close to downtown which is convenient but you would never know it because of the private location. This apartment IS attached to a home but completely closed off from it. You might hear a few footsteps above you at night. Overall, this was an excellent stay!

Cozy & Close to Downtown

The apartment was perfect for what we were looking for. It completely matched the listing description and it was extremely clean and cozy. The owner welcomed us to the apartment, showed us around while making us feel at home, and let us know to reach out if we had any questions. The amenities of the apartment make it feel very comfortable - we really enjoyed the private hot tub and well equipped kitchen. The apartment was about a 4-5 minute drive from downtown Asheville and 10 minutes to the blue ridge parkway. Overall the apartment was perfect for our needs and we would recommend it to anyone staying in the Asheville area. Also the coffee at the apartment was amazing!

Beautiful place with beautiful people

Cardinals Inn is a tiny heaven on earth. We stayed celebrated Christmas here and came back with beautiful memories. Located right in the middle of the mountains this place is very serene. We were pleasantly surprised how close this location is to Biltmore estate, smokeys and downtown. You can see all sorts of lovely visitors around the house. We spotted 3 wild turkeys during breakfast. The house is spotless and looks exactly like the pictures. Hosts, Fay and Mark are great. I highly recommend having breakfast at least once and trying Mark's croissants. Fay is very lovely and kind. Must must try Mark's chocolate truffles. Do ask Fay for tasting of Balsamic vinegar (I know this sounds strange, but you'd be so glad you did). If you are looking for a quite and yet happening place, this is it. We will be returning here in spring. Highly recommend this place for what it is and the hosts. Cheers, Maithry & Ed

Beautiful Property

Overall we enjoyed our stay! The apartment was very clean and well appointed with a beautiful view. We enjoyed the hot tub and the location was very convenient as well. The only room for improvement I see is in the check-in process. To check-in you must arrange a time with the host between 4 and 9. Time slots were limited and we agreed on 7pm. We were traveling from Columbia, SC and we planned dinner and travel around this time. As we approached Asheville around 5:30 I realized I had a message that I unfortunately had not seen telling me they moved my check in time to 5pm. We couldn't make it in time so we were told the earliest we could now check in was 8pm. This completely interrupted our evening and dinner plans. They did agree to push the check-in to 9 to give us a chance to eat, which I had to do without a shower or a change of clothes at a different location than planned. The check-in process was extremely thourough, and while I appreciate that they are trying to give a personal touch I would much prefer to be given a code to enter the house at my leisure. It makes for a much more relaxed trip in, especially if you have to account for work hours and travel time. The detailed room instructions are printed in addition to the tour and I think reading them would be sufficient if check in times don't work with your schedule. Again, all in all we had a nice visit. I would highly recommend having the HomeAway app as this is how Fay prefers to communicate. And I would definitely recommend double checking your confirmation before you make plans. 5 stars on everything except check in!

Wonderful experience

Beautiful place to stay. The owners really have thought of every detail from the beautiful decorations to the delicious breakfast each morning (the croissants and homemade jams are amazing). The dining area is decorated beautifully and very warm and inviting. Next time we are in Asheville, we will definitely stay here. The apartment was extremely clean and very cozy. The location is perfect, only a five minute ride to downtown and nearby attractions.

Superb service and great hospitality!

From day one, the home tour was great and just the professionalism had us hooked. We enjoyed the list of places to check out which made it extremely easy on our honeymoon to just go from the list provided and have fun. Beautiful room and home. Clean. Peaceful. Cozy. Great morning conversations over a warming and tasty breakfast. Homemade croissants and jam. Homemade delicious chocolates that we fell in love with. Several times we thought to ourselves, "we should ask them if we could just pay rent and live there". Fay and Marc really set the bar high for our next airbnb trip. Truly the host of hosts. Their care for their us and respect of our personal space, was unbelievable. We are definitely putting the Cardinals Inn at the top of our list as we are looking forward to staying there again....and again...and again. Go expecting excellence and leave with your expectation surpassed" Alex and Alisha
