Nice cottage with all the amenities you need. The cottage is roomy, spotless and decorated nicely. I would recommend slippers if booking in the cooler months as the kitchen has no heat vents and is quite cool compared to the rest of the cottage. We would definitely book here again. This was our second visit to this cottage.
My friend and I loved our little weekend away. It was our second time staying here and we can’t wait to be back next year! Cottage has everything you need and more. Great location and easy check in process!
We have stayed many times...it just gets better and better! Great place, great pricing and fabulous hosts! Going back again soon!!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Disliked: Communication
Serviceable
Some minor things I made certain to take pictures of during check-in process. Top 3 being the step between kitchen and living room (bows when stepped on), a large scratch on the living room floor which had been epoxies and one of the bathrooms had a cracked and re-plastered upper toilet lid.
Owners were VERY persistent knocking at the front door first morning of our stay. We had previously communicated that we were attending a wedding that weekend. I feel knocking excessively like that was quite weird. I understand you may want to meet face to face but frankly knock twice, grab the ladder you wanted and return another time if you'd still like to meet. We did pay upfront and we were on vacation. It's not like it ruined our trip or anything but I do feel that I would be looking elsewhere if I were to revisit NotL
The owners were not necessarily all that trusting. After all the knocking I had a cigarette while they were on the property and I was reminded to not flick cigarettes and use an ashtray....I pointed at the empty can I was actively using as an ashtray. Not exactly the first morning of my vacation I was hoping for. We did follow all rules as previously agreed and allowed them to grab their ladder and carry on. I don't know if they thought we were going to be troublemakers but I certainly know we are not going to be returning customers to these owners. I wish them the best regardless and I thank them for offering us a place to stay for the weekend.
❤️❤️❤️My husband and I truly have enjoyed our short break stay at our accommodation. Property is close to Niagara on the Lake, wineries and beautiful walks. I highly recommend the opportunity for many people to stay at the quaint Hamlet Cottage❤️❤️❤️
Everything was as described. The charming cottage was clean, tidy, and very welcoming. The distance from the lake and a short walk to town was great for us. Peter and Debra were great hosts that responded to questions in great time. Thank you for sharing this property with us. We hope to come back again next year.
This is a very cute roomy cottage with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Lots of room for two couples or a family to enjoy. We love being in Shakespeare Street so this was a great find for us. Owners were super nice and always answered our questions. Would definitely stay here again.
Amazed by the size of the cottage including washer and dryer. Very convenient. Loved the big backyard and gazebo.Close to everything. Minutes from village, restaurants, grocery store and pharmacy. We will be back.
Thank you for the lovely week.

Nice space with everything you need, convenient to downtown. Easy to find and check in. Friendly host we've stayed with before, and I'm sure, will again.
This house was GREAT!! Super clean! We loved the neighborhood and enjoyed walking into town (took about 25 minutes) and looking at all the different style of houses. The owner Peter checked on us Saturday to make sure we were doing ok and asked if we needed anything. He is super nice! There is a park right down the street with access to a small beach where my husband and I enjoyed looking for sea glass. We even went to a garage sale down the street from the cottage. We visited multiple wineries and did the shops in town. We did a ghost walk also! Check in and check out instructions are super easy! We would absolutely stay here again! We can’t wait to come back! Thank you for a wonderful anniversary weekend!
Excellent place for 2 couples. Walk to the water and park is a short distance away. Easy drive to the downtown area. Owners are responsive and are local. We have made this our place to return to next time we are in NOTL
Lovely cottage in quiet residential area with backyard and outdoor seating area. 20 minute walk from Old Town along beautiful street and lakefront walkway. Cottage was clean and stocked with all amenities. Beds were comfortable. Hosts were friendly and responsive
The home was very clean, Well equipped, quiet and perfect location. Lake front park at the end of the street. Quick drive to downtown. The beds were comfortable and the furniture and decor were in excellent shape and tasteful.
This cottage was so comfortable and convenient, located about a half-block from the lake, a mile or so from the Niagara on the Lake shopping/restaurant area, and with easy access to the Niagara Parkway bike trail and Niagara Falls.
We stayed there last year and enjoyed it so much that we returned again this year. Perfect location, four minutes from the theatre, restaurants, shops and much more. Cozy cottage with everything you need and nice gazebo in the back. Perfect!

Why they chose this property
The neighborhood is very quiet and has a 'cottagy' feel to it.
What makes this property unique
The beautiful stone fireplace is the centrepiece of this house and why we purchased it despite the odd floor plan (which we have since corrected).
