One Particular Harbour is a unique villa that was carved out of a steep mountainside in 2004. This 3-level home is bordered by tropical flowers, lush vegetation and tall stonewalls and take maximum advantage of the fantastic views and the privacy of this quiet setting. From the parking area you ascend tiled stairs to the top floor, which houses the kitchen, dining and living rooms and half bath, plus a large wraparound covered deck with truly spectacular and exciting views. Interior and exterior stairs take you down to the two equal sized, air-conditioned bedrooms and a large wraparound private deck on the second level. The third air-conditioned bedroom and private patio deck are on the lower (ground) level and are accessed by exterior stairs. Every room of this home has a spectacular view, and every bed looks out the islands that stretch below you as far as the eye can see.
The pool and the sun deck were also carved out of the mountainside and are located beside the house. Like the villa, the pool and sundeck enjoy a fantastic view along with clothing optional privacy.
To get to One Particular Harbour you drive from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay and then make a steep climb up about 900 feet, almost to the top of the mountain ridge that towers over Coral Bay Harbor. Once you reach your villa you’ll immediately turn to the east, utter the word “wow”, and then gaze for a few minutes at the beauty that lies before you. The views are spellbinding as they sweep for more than 60 miles from the northern hills surrounding Coral Bay, over Coral Bay Harbor, Hurricane Hole and the East End of St. John to Tortola, Norman, Peter, Salt, Cooper, Ginger, Virgin Gorda, and the other fabled islands of the British Virgin Islands.
Coral Bay, which is on the eastern side of St. John is St. John’s “other” community. It is a colorful, very laid back and friendly small town. The name Coral Bay also refers to the neighborhood that surrounds the waters of St. John’s largest bay (Coral Bay)
From One Particular Harbor, the dazzling National Park beaches at Salt Pond Bay and Lameshur Bay are a 15-minute drive, and it’s a very scenic 25-30 minute drive over Bordeaux Mountain into Cruz Bay. For groceries, restaurants, bars and evening entertainment in the Coral Bay area, it’s a 5-10 minute drive on paved roads.
The living room is furnished with comfortable quality wicker furniture and is equipped with a Sony cable TV and a stereo/CD. Recessed and screened sliding glass doors disappear into wall pockets to allow a totally unobstructed view from anywhere on the top floor.
One Particular Harbour offers a choice of interior or exterior dining. Inside an expandable mahogany table seats up to 8 in the dining area of the upper level, while outside your dining table seats 6 under a covered deck that offers remarkable views at any hour of the day or evening.
The handsome kitchen is well-equipped with mahogany cabinets and tiled countertops, a stainless steel four-burner gas stove and oven, s/s refrigerator/freezer, s/s microwave, s/s dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, blender, cookware, dinnerware and a telephone. A washer/dryer is located on the 2nd level.
All three bedrooms are air-conditioned and all have tiled baths and showers, cable TV, telephones and exterior decks. The lower level bedroom is somewhat larger and has a 4-poster mahogany (queen) bed. The 2 bedrooms on the second level are equal sized and one has a mahogany (queen) bed and the other bedroom has 2 twin beds that do notconvert to a king bed.
You’ll appreciate this well-appointed and tasteful 3-bedroom villa, but it’s the views and peaceful location that really set it apart. The view looks right down the Sir Francis Drake Channel. During the day scores of distant sailboats move slowly between blue seas and green islands, and at night the lights of Tortola, Peter Island, and Virgin Gorda twinkle off in the distance. This is really a lovely and quite romantic setting with what is view, certainly one of the best views in Coral Bay.
The 3-level design of One Particular Harbour offers very good privacy for 2-3 couples, while the two adjoining bedrooms on the 2nd floor are good for a family with children. The upper deck is well above ground level but the tight railings on all 3 levels provide good safety for children. One Particular Harbor’s spectacular location, privacy and refined furnishings also give this villa a romantic essence that makes this a great choice for honeymooners, lovers and couples.
There are at least five restaurants in the Coral Bay area that are well worth a visit, plus smaller take eateries. There are also two small grocery stores, and numerous small shops with interesting crafts, souvenirs and specialty items, all within a 5-10 min
drive. Many people who visit St. John stay on the Cruz Bay side of the island and wonder, would I enjoy a villa in Coral Bay. Thousands of people have answered that question with a very strong "yes" and we bet you would also enjoy this unique slice of St. John
