Zentangle Retreat
We stayed at the Maple Street house last week for a Zentangle Retreat. There were several of us, and it was important that we all have our own beds. This house fit that bill. We also did not want to have to drive too far away, in case of emergency. Again, this house worked. It was about an hour due East of our home area. For an afternoon ramble, and a night out for supper, we were able to drive into Oneonta, only about half an hour away. The house is lovely. The neighborhood is quiet, and the villagers friendly. The owners were very willing to accommodate our requests for variance on times for check-ins and check-out. They left us a gift card to a delightful local bakery. As the Retreat leader, I was excited to find an enormous dining room table that would hold all of us comfortably as we worked. We were able to fix meals and eat family style, and afterwards, relax in the living room in comfort. I keep going back to that word. Comfort. For such a big house, it was wonderfully cozy. We did run into a couple of things, as you might expect in an older home. The owner, John, was very responsive, and immediately handled all of our questions, and concerns.
