This was my second visit and everything was as good as I remembered. The cottage is beautifully situated with magnificent views just outside Port Clyde, with the Marshall Point lighthouse nearby. It has one bedroom and a mostly unfinished attic where a couple of more people could sleep. There are two bathrooms and a washer and dryer. The owner, Kathy, was always available and a pleasure to deal with. Unfortunately, the Port Clyde General Store, the Dip Net restaurant and the ferry ticket office burned down last year just after I left. The ticket office has been rebuilt and the General Store occupies part of it. So, life goes on and I was still able to drink my morning coffee outside a small coffee shop that escaped the fire. Port Clyde is at the very tip of the St. George Peninsula so it’s a bit of a drive back to Route 1, but that just contributes to the charm, quiet and seclusion of the place.
A quiet place with a beautiful view of the water and terrific sunsets. Nicely equipped kitchen, roomy and clean bathrooms. Short ride to town (Port Clyde). Great place to just read, relax, and muse.
We enjoyed the deck most of all as the views were amazing. Maine was exceptionally warm when we were there, so at times we really had to work to cool the place down. There were plenty of fans there to help. The kitchen was very well stocked and the second bathroom and laundry was a real bonus. Kathy was readily available to answer questions.
I had high expectations for this place and it exceeded them. Nicely furnished, including washer/dryer. It was secluded but convenient to Port Clyde. An easy drive up 131 to Route 1. The deck is large and there’s a nice grille. A beautiful sunset view. The owner was a pleasure to deal with — prompt answers to emails and texts. It’s not for large parties — one bedroom and what amounts to an attic space. I had a guest who I stashed in the attic, and they were perfectly fine with it. Great place. I recommend it without any reservations at all.
This stay was beyond our expectations. We were so happy when we drove up and saw this amazing cottage. And the decor inside is beautiful. The kitchen was well supplied. We had everything we needed for meals at home and even supplies for a lobster boil. We loved the incredible view. It was so nice to have coffee on the deck and look out at the water and beautiful views. We used the mooring for a 14 foot catboat and brought it to the deck for sailing. It was perfect A great place for day sailing. We will rent here again.
Dream location. You will see the best Maine sunsets and be totally isolated. No neighbors to be seen and you feel like you are on a private island. Wonderful
Charming cottage overlooking the picture-postcard St. George River. Comfortable and well-maintained. Quiet and private setting. Lovely deck for observing lobstermen and Osprey. Stunning sunsets.

Great location and house, just a few minor issues
Beautiful location, great views, nice to have a dock on the water! The house is a classic Maine cottage, feels very accommodating. Just a few minor things, light bulbs out, low water pressure in the shower, coffee maker didn’t work great and we didn’t realize there was no laundry. We really enjoyed the stay and would recommend it subject to those few minor things...

Quaint cottage on the cove
Small but cute, quaint cottage over looking a cove. Quiet, beautiful views of water, boats and wild life present, including bald eagle sightings, osprey, and wild turkeys- near Port Clyde. Many sights to see locally. Comfortable bed, no dishwasher, w/d. Could have used a more powerful shower head.

The perfect get-away cottage
We stayed here in August and had a wonderful week. The setting was delightful - private with an expansive view of the cove, islands and the ocean especially at sunset. The house was clean and cozy and the deck offered the perfect spot for coffee in the morning and for a glass of wine at the end of the day. We were very lucky to have sunny days in the mid-70s with light breeze and cool nights for sleeping with the windows open. If you are looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle this is the ideal spot.

Beautiful Waterfront House
My wife and I enjoyed our two week stay at 22 Cove Side Lane. It is a great cottage with good space and lots of amenities. The deck is large and overlooks the St George River and beyond. We didn't have guests, but if we had, we could have slept 4 more easily upstairs. There is a path through a nature preserve to a private dock. We enjoyed watching a pair of Ospreys guarding their nest in a nearby tree. The large towns of Rockland and Camden are just a half hour away. We visited them often to enjoy their restaurants, play golf and go to art galleries. The village of Port Clyde is only an mile away with its general store, restaurant, ice cream parlor and cruises to Mohegan Island or to Egg Rock with its restored Puffin colony. We would love to return someday.
