Quiet, Country Perfection!

This sweet little cabin was such a blessing to us during our time there. My husband and I were in the middle of selling our home and closing on our new one. Holly was so accommodating for us and our pup. We had everything we needed and more. Dixie was the best neighbor as well! We can’t wait to come back for a little staycation after we are fully settled in our new place! Perfect place if you’re just coming into town to explore Columbia for the weekend. We love our little town! :)

Leaving is the hardest part

Perfect place for my husband and I as we’re in town to celebrate a family wedding. Mule Town is quiet and tranquil. Mornings were filled with walks around the property with our dogs and sitting on the front porch swing enjoying fresh brewed coffee. Perfect location and not far from town to get groceries or scope out the area so rich with history. It was also a delight to meet and share with other guests staying at Mule Town. Thank you Holly and Chris for the hospitality and accommodations. We hope to return for future visits and will certainly recommend your cabins to others.

Tranquil and good for the soul

I booked this farm because I wanted to be in the country and around farm life. The cabin itself was more than spacious. The bed was super comfy. The temperature control unit was perfect! And I was able to hang out on the couch in the living room while my husband slept in. We were greeted by Dixie the horse at night and in the morning. The coffee was abundant for my husband and I. We were touring downtown Nashville when we were in town, and we found that Columbia was the perfect distance away from the city for us. We can’t wait to come back!

Lovely Retreat

Booked in conjunction with other houses on property for extended family attending wedding nearby. Would book again. Everything as advertised and better! Great experience - lots of places for family to gather, create memories and still space to have downtime when needed. Highly recommend!

Relax and enjoy!

We were looking at property to build on close by. We drove up to this quaint little farm. We were not disappointed! We only rented the small cabin but the home was clean and well maintained. We woke every morning and was created by wild turkeys and Dixie. (Horse). So stock up on carrots and apples! We will definitely be back that way and remember when ever a rental is needed!

Nice quite getaway

It was a nice peaceful stay, I loved looking out the kitchen window and seeing the horses. I have 2 small suggestions. 1 I came in late and gps had me stop at the drive way before yours, I was able to find a sign on google maps showing the green truck and your farm sign. I know we did just get hit by storms so it may have blown away or got damaged. Something about not wanting to turn down unknown driveways in middle of the night. Second since it was storming I had to walk thru the mud to get from my truck to the cabin witch is not a big deal for me but I could see some people not a fan of the maybe some stepping stones? I just felt bad tracking a little mud inside the cabin.

Visit to Muletown Farms

It was wonderful. Holly and Chris were attentive to our needs, anything we asked for was provided immediately. We even brought my cousin's grandkids out to see Dixie (the horse) and the chickens, bunnies and turkey. They loved it!! I would highly recommend Muletown Farm, it is a beautiful property, a lot of history and very relaxing.

Muletown farm visit

A great piece of property. There are actually three houses all clustered together, which would be great for a gathering of friends or family. Our bed was comfortable. The property was clean. Great communication with the owner. I would definitely go there again without hesitation.

Charming!

The cabin was perfect for us. We particularly enjoyed being right next to the horse corral where we could feed Dixie (the neighborhood horse) and enjoy her company. Or favorite thing was sitting by the large firepit.

Sweet life in the country

Sitting in your rocker on the porch watching the horses grazing and the sun going down and the the fireflies come out—well, these are the most peaceful activities of all. We loved our stay at Muletown Farm in Dixie’s cabin. It is one of the nicest cabins we have ever been lucky enough to find. We enjoyed exploring Columbia and eating Southern breakfasts with Annie's eggs. Chris and Holly are lovely hosts; thank you! We will be back.

Beats every hotel in Columbia

We love Muletown Farm. It’s such a fantastic alternative to the hotels in Columbia. We stay in Columbia for many softball tournaments and Muletown Farm is much more relaxing and such a family friendly alternative. Chris and Holly were wonderful hosts and so friendly.

Perfect for The Homestead Festival

First of all this place is adorable! We stayed in Dixie's cabin. Very clean and nice inside and out. It was convenient to everywhere in Columbia but made you feel like you were far away from the city too. Holly was super fast to respond to messages and Chris so kindly let me meet Charlie and Lucy Brown, the doodles on the farm. I didn't have my own dogs and I'm always happy to love on someone else's dogs when I can lol. Dixie and Lucky greeted us and also the sweet chickens talked away. We had beautiful evenings for sitting on the porch too. We stayed because we were going to Rory Feek's place for the Homestead Festival and it was an easy 30 minute drive and perfect for people who love the quiet farm life anyways. Would definitely stay again. Thanks so much!

Hello! We’re the Browns, proud owners of a 32-acre farm we fell in love with back in 2017. Our dream was to find a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and this land became exactly that—and so much more. Today, we’re thrilled to share our little slice of tranquility with others who are looking for a place to unwind, recharge, and reconnect with what matters most.

Why they chose this property

This farm has a rich history that dates back to 1808-1812 when it was first settled. The land was originally gifted to Colonel Grant by George Washington himself as a token of appreciation for his leadership during the Revolutionary War. Grant's family sold the property to the Armstrong family from South Carolina. Although it's unclear when the main house and side cabin were built, it's believed to have been sometime between 1812-1889. The Armstrongs eventually sold the property to Dr. George, a renowned livestock veterinarian in Maury County, who made the farm popular and recognizable throughout the town. Unfortunately, the farm fell into disarray after Dr. George's passing a few years ago, following a long period of illness. However, we fell in love with the farm's rich history. We saw the potential and had a vision of offering a stress-free weekend getaway to people, providing them with an opportunity to connect with each other, nature, and God. We invite you to be a part of our farm journey and hope that your stay will make your journey a little more pleasant.

What makes this property unique

If you're searching for a place that's close to all the wonderful things that Nashville, Franklin, and Columbia have to offer, but you want to stay on a nostalgic Tennessee farm, then this is the perfect place for you. You can enjoy the best of both worlds - the excitement of city life when you want it, and the peaceful countryside when you just want to get away.

The cabin has been recently updated with new heating and air conditioning, a new bathroom and kitchen, and new flooring. However, we've made sure to maintain the old farm style that makes it wonderfully charming.

We are conveniently located 10 minutes from Downtown Columbia, 55 minutes away from downtown Nashville and 40 minutes away from historic Franklin.
