Cozy lakeside cabin with beautiful grounds! Cabin is as advertised. Small bathroom but otherwise very cozy and comfortable. Had what we needed. Hosts were very responsive. Great location to visit the Rockport/Camden/Rockland area. So much to do and see!
This place was perfect for my husband and I!! The view, the location, and the homey feel both inside and out!!! Brenda was very responsive with any questions we had. Met Jim and their dog Bently and were just as great! I would highly recommend this place for a nice little getaway!!
Great Lake View, Convenient Location, Excellent Owner Support
We enjoyed the stay! Small cottage with great water view, firepit lakeside at sunset was excellent! Deck BBQ grill overlooking lake was good. Cottage was clean & interior decorations were eclectic - great mix!
Comments next are honest & intended as positive for owner & another reader. Interior clothing & luggage storage small. No closets, no hangers, no iron. Bathroom very small & personal products, including toothbrush had to be kept in kitchen. Keurig for coffee was an unexpected miss for us. Could not find where to dispose of the trash & recycling. Not an issue - simply uncomfortable leaving it in the cottage and not in an outside receptacle.
Would return if staying in the area. Comfortable and value was good!
Hope this is helpful.
Its a tiny cottage but very cozy and good for 2 adults on the go everyday. You're not going to do a lot of cooking here, but dining out or bringing back take out is why we go on vacation. Very clean and immaculate yard!
This was our third year staying here. We absolutely love it. The lake is beautiful. The hosts are wonderful. The cottage is nice and clean. Perfect for a getaway!
We loved this little hideaway by Lake Chickawaukie. Our only problem was showering with a small hot water heater. The owners (very nice people, by the way) need to find a way to install a normal heater to make this a perfect place to enjoy a Maine summer.
This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at this property. Location is great! The place is quite small, but for our needs, it was just right. We were so busy touring Camden, Rockland, and Rockport that we didn't spend much time at the house. My morning swims in the pond were a refreshing way to start each day! Brenda, the owner, is great. Very attentive, as needed.
Cons: We were informed that the water heater was what would fit in the smaller home and traveling in a RV alot we are use to a 6gal water heater but the one there did not supply close to as much hot water. We were able to rinse off in the shower quickly but I washed my hair in the sink. This may be a big deterrent to some but it wouldn't stop us because the pros outweigh the cons.
The Pros: location is great being close to lots of great activities (I highly recommend both lighthouses
Third year staying here! We will be back again next year! The hosts were great and super responsive. The view is beautiful. Thank you for another wonderful stay.
The property look just like the pictures i veiwed on the sight.i needed a place to stay for my daughter's wedding and it was perfect! family came during the days to gather the lake was wonderful jim made sure we had plenty of wood for the fire pit and gas in the grill.the place was spotless on arrival and anytime i had a ? The owners were right next door and came over to show me how to operate the air conditioner &t.v. we definitely would come back again the next time im visiting my family.
The place was great.thanks for the hospitality if we come back we would stay again.also is there another place you own nearby so our friends could be near us. Rick/Julie
This is thw perfect place for relaxation and clise to town, shops and restaurants. Ju a t like the photos, we will come again, you will not be disappointed.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at our stay on Chickawaukee Pond. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. After enjoying the sights around Rockland, we returned each day to enjoy the sunset on the lakefront swing. We felt safe & comfortable. The location is a short drive from downtown. We would recommend this cottage for a couple or singles anytime!
We really loved this little cottage. Serene setting, on the water. So lovely in the morning and at night. Absolutely gorgeous view. When we go again (and we do plan it!) we will go when it is a bit warmer (we stayed in mid -September) and it was a bit too cold to really enjoy the lovely backyard. We did get a few good weather days and were able to enjoy the hammock and the firepit. The hostess, Brenda was so responsive to any questions we had. The cottage was well equipped and very conveniently located, close to Camden and Rockland. There is so much to see and do, and all very close by. We would like to return and see the Puffins! One thing to be aware of is that it is on a well, which means that you will have great drinking water right from the tap, but this also means that you will need to space your showers as the hot water can run out. Lovely place and great hosts! We hope to return!
We enjoyed every minute and everything about our stay in this charming cottage. It was quiet and peaceful in a private setting, yet close enough to Rockland and Rockport to bike there and back. The view of the pond from the outside patio was beautiful, especially when sitting in the outdoor porch swing.
It’s is a cute little cottage with a gorgeous view. It’s was a very quiet place to rest and relax and close to local towns of Rockport, Camden, and Rockland.
I cannot say enough nice things about the hosts and the property. I like both so much that this is my second year visiting the same property. I plan on booking again for next summer. Thank you both!
