We were looking for a quiet and relaxing place to get away to. This place was it. Enjoyed a weekend of dsiing nothing. Enjoyed the property very much. Thanks
Our family of 3 met up with my sister's family of 3. The house isn't huge, but even with 4 adults and 2 kids under 4, there was enough room to be comfortable. Particularly the living room and dinning area were decent size for the house. The back yard area down to the lake was great. The deck was fabulous with lots of seating. The lot was lightly wooded and very minimally slopped. That made for a great play area. We didn't do anything in the lake as it was early February, but there was plenty of room to play or put in one of the kayaks. There are definitely fishing spots on the lake, but I wouldn't count on fishing from this spot. You could see to the bottom all around and there wasn't any sign of brush or rocks or anything. The house is old, but it was well cleaned and has been well updated on the inside. Glad we chose this property for our stay.

Great location but it needs more TLC
Nice location, but it lacks light, some bulbs outside were not working. The oven was quite dirty, and the outside area was covered in leaves with some materials rusted. Although we clearly stated that we were a group of eight, there were only four towels in the bathroom. We also had to search for blankets and found them in a messy closet. The TV in the family room was not working properly, so we suggest checking it out. The house has potential; we just recommend a bit more TLC.
We used this house as the hub for a surprise birthday party for our 89 year old grandmother. We traveled from NC, our parents traveled from VA, and our aunt and uncle came from and brought our grandmother from Augusta. Everyone had their own rooms and we enjoyed our time out on the deck and out by the water. Being pet friendly allowed us to get grandma some compassion time. Everything is perfect about this place. The dock has the perfect view to enjoy the sunrise over the water.
House is in a great location - quiet cove in an established neighborhood. Very convenient to downtown Hartwell and Cateechee golf course. A couple of things that would be helpful - mirror in each bedroom (with four bedrooms and 1 bath upstairs a mirror would eliminate monopolizing the bathroom) and a new patio door. Overall a great, relaxing trip with fishing and golfing.
Very clean house. Awesome dock to fish off of on a very private lake cove. Communication with the owner was very good. Any questions we had he got back to us very promptly. Give this property a 10/10 all around!!
Had all the simple comforts. Very quiet. We really enjoyed it.

Super Disappointed
Home was not to the standards we have become accustomed to in all of our years of VRBO rentals. This home has not had the attention to detail it has needed for quite some time. From stained bathroom hand towel, to unpainted, pealing inside entrance door, to outside mold & mildew. I cried in disappointment for monies we spent for this. We only stayed 1 of our 4 nights & no offer of refund given..certainly will investigate closer on our next rental. This review is not meant to be spiteful, just a very honest one.
Thoroughly enjoy my stay. Close to work, great dock to fish off of, watching the wildlife from dock and deck. Great check in and check out. Tremendous communication with owners
We enjoyed staying at this property during the week of the July 4th and decided to rent again. Property is close and convenient to many stores, restaurants, and activities.
The beds are comfortable. There are plenty of towels and blankets, nice back porch, close walk to the water.
Beautiful quiet corner of Lake Hartwell. Having the dock access was a plus, as we brought our paddle boards with us. We had coffee every morning on the deck, watching the deer graze through the back yard. Peaceful and serene. House has everything you need from a coffee maker, to a barbecue grill, to kayaks for the Lake. The bed we slept on was super comfortable! Then last, but not least, is how accommodating the owner was. We were able to book it for a last-minute stay. Garrett was always quick to respond to any question I had. I highly recommend this property for a quiet and relaxing stay on the lake.
We had family in from CA and stayed here for a few days. The host was great to communicate with. The house is dated (‘73) but clean and well kept for the most part. We found the grill to be in almost un-usable condition. And the back slider door is a job to open (none of the kids could open it) We would def stay here again if those two items were addressed by owner.
Great park at the end of the road also!!
Spent the weekend with family. Age range 4-84yo
We had a wonderful time. The place was well supplied with everything we needed.
Communication was great!
Would definitely stay again.
Property was just right for our family. We enjoyed the dock, water and watching all the deer in the back yard. Was a very quiet and friendly community.
This house had everything we needed to celebrate the Fourth of July with extended family. Convenient dock for our boat and jet skis, grill, nice deck, and plenty of cookware in the kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. The neighborhood is pretty quiet too. We enjoyed our stay so much, we will be back in September.
Loved the location. The walk to lake was very easy. Not the cleanest lake house we have rented, but not the owner’s fault. Made him aware of situation and he was very appreciative.
Property is just as pleasant as described. The neighborhood is quiet and laid back, views of the lake are beautiful. Although we didn’t use the recreation equipment, there were plenty of things to do just at the house. We rented a pontoon from a local marina and enjoyed having the dock available for easy use. The owner communicated very well and even tried to help me get to the house when the main road was closed due to an accident. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property!!
My husband and I stayed for Father’s Day weekend and it was great! Easy access to put our boat in the water. House was clean and bed was comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the deck in the evenings. No complaints house was true to listing. Hope to spend another weekend here sometime.
