We offer a 4 bedroom, 3 bath cabin located on a private 3 acre wooded lot. The house is set up with all of the comforts of home. You will only need to bring paper products, soap & shampoo. Toilet paper is provided. The rooms are set up with queen size beds, however, one room has a queen bottom bunk and a single top bunkbed. Outside is equipped with a firepit and lots of room to roam! Home is on one level.

Waterfall trip

Overall the house was nice. Beds were comfortable. The photos online are different than what the house looks like now. However this is not a negative as the house has been updated. It was perfect for what we needed.

lovely house

The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. We had plenty of everything we needed. The owner was responsive and extremely helpful when we left an iPhone behind! We really enjoyed the hot tub and the seclusion of the property. The neighbors were not close but quite friendly when encountered. Lots of wildlife to enjoy as well. The location was central to everything the area had to offer. We had a great time and I would definitely rent again!

Girls getaway weekend

The cabin is a great size with 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Great location! A new mattress on the lower bunk is needed and the shower in the large bathroom needs to be fixed/ cleaned or torn out. The cabin was very dusty and musty but we bought candles and air freshener which helped. All in all we enjoyed our stay but the cleaning crew needs to do more.

Wonderful getaway

This location is in a beautiful quiet secluded neighborhood and is perfectly located between the lake and the New River Gorge area. We will definitely come back in the future!

Mountain Getaway

This is a relatively secluded cabin in the woods. It was very quiet and serene. We saw deer walk across the property almost every day. The hot tub and fire ring were great places for social gatherings. It also provided access to the outside world with good internet and TV. We had plenty of space for 5 adults, with an extra bedroom to spare. The location was ideal to explore the New River Gorge Park. It was a quick drive in either direction to find hiking trails, kayak rentals or scenic views.

BACK AGAIN

This was our third time to stay at the cabin, though it had been a couple of years since the last time. As soon as we stepped in, we could tell that they had made efforts to update things. A new couch and changes to the decor were quite evident. In addition a new fire ring outside made for a nice touch. There are a few things that need to be fixed, but nothing that makes it a no go. We'll be back next year.

Quiet area.

We comfortably fit 4 adults, two teens and an 11 and 8 year old. Met our needs of having a nice place to stay at night as we took day trips daily. Two big negatives: the spa bathtub has not been used or cleaned. When my 8 year old tried using it, once the jets were put on it spewed out gross build-up. Secondly, the hot tub was not completely full or to an accurate temp in prep for use right away. We corrected those problems on our own As seasoned travelers we come prepared with many everyday needs (garbage bags, dishwasher and laundry needs, paper goods and toiletries) so our needs despite what was listed in write up were ok. But there was no shampoo, only two garbage bags and minimal dishwasher pods and no dishwasher liquid to hand wash dishes. There was no outdoor firewood left (thankfully we brought our own). Again overall we had a great time there just needs to be a better stick of certain items and updates to the what you must provide list.

Short but relaxing stay.

We had many obstacles that prevented us from using the cabin both days with my children. My husband and I arrived on day 2 to find that it was beautiful and it would have been absolutely perfect for all of us and ourThanksgiving plans! We hope to try again another time. Out host,Tina, was very accessible and answered all of our questions in a timely manner.

Great location for fall scenery

The property manager was responsive to our questions. Her description of getting to the house was perfect. Neither of our GPSs ever got it right. Mt Lookout is midway between Fayetteville & Summersville. Both towns have Walmart Supercenters. It is off US 19 which is rightly designated as a scenic route, but with a 65mph speed limit do not expect to stop on a dime to take a picture!! The house had all the necessary equipment and it all worked well. The wifi functioned well with both our computers and our smartphones. The door lock and keyless entry were easy to use. We arrived in sleet, woke up to snow, had 29-degree nights, and 75-degree days with 6 consecutive days of perfectly blue skies! Of course, the property manager can't guarantee such perfect weather for everyone. We were only in the house til after breakfast and again in time for supper, showers & sleep. Didn't turn on any TVs or radios. I took my Instant Pot. The oversized shower is an adventure and we learned something new about it over several days. Enjoy the experience! Oh, check with the NP rangers before heading to some of the places off the main drag. We had to turn around just before getting to Thurmond because the road was being resurfaced. A lot of miles to nowhere that day. We loved WV and the good highways! Enjoy!

I've met a lot of wonderful people and I have numerous people who renturn to my cabins every year. I love the outdoors and I love nature. I try very hard to be kind to the environment and the critters that live there. If you are coming for a relaxing time and a chance to just get away, then I welcome you with open arms! Let that stress of everyday life go and just relax and take in the clean fresh mountain air!

Why they chose this property

I don't own this particular property. I have a cabin that I own just down the road from here. However, before this property (farm) was sold and developed, I had dreamed of owning it and having several rental cabins availabe to people. This entire property, which stretches all the way to the Meadow River has always been close to my heart. It truely is a peaceful and serene place to be. But, don't take my word for it, find out for yourself!

What makes this property unique

You're going to love the front porch, especially in the morning, where I'm sure you will be able to catch the site of some animals rustling around somewhere for a bite of breakfast. In the evening time, grab a glass of wine, cocktail or ice tea and make your way to the hot tub for some leisure time. You will find this to be a very comfortable and unique place to stay.
