Paradise at your feet ….

not much to say but amazing . Ocean front with crashing waves and sunsets . Unit is well equipped with all you can need , grounds are well kept . Pool fills up fast and is a little on the smaller side . Kona strip could be walked to if your very energetic otherwise 4 min drive . Waves are huge and crashing against the lava walls. 5 min away are beaches where you can swim . Condos buildings are 3 floors , no elevators but not big deal . Small market store right next door . If you love being ocean front , close proximity to the strip this is your place

Overall condo was what we expected based on the description. Views were very good. The bedroom mattress could use an update. We enjoyed the condo and the saltwater pool next to the condo complex. Would stay here again.

Beautiful sleep to waves crashing

This is a beautiful sea side location. Lots of dolphins from the deck. Whales did show up a couple of times in Dec. The condo has everything you need for a couple. Easy driving access with nice parking.

Amazing View

All in all, we were very pleased with the condo. It had everything we needed. The sofa bed was not too comfortable, but that’s to be expected. It is a very quiet, small complex with friendly residents. Waking up and having coffee on the lanai in the morning was just amazing. We ate many meals on the lanai, as there is no table inside, but that was fine with us. Just be ready to haul your suitcase to the 3rd floor. I would stay there again.

Relaxing in Paradise

I want to start by saying we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and on the Big Island. It was our first time to the Big Island. I spent several hours searching out properties to rent for our visit. I looked at several but kept coming back to this property. I read all the reviews (many times over) from past renters, and they all were consistent with having a very positive experience. At first, I thought this unit may be too small as it is a one bedroom, but it really was not for the two of us. It was spacious and served our needs quite well. The unit was nicely decorated, well stocked and very clean. As mentioned by previous renters, we spent most of our time on the lanai as the view was a slice of heaven. We were facing the ocean and enjoyed the view of the water and waves every morning with our cup of coffee, and the views of the water and sunsets with our evening glass of wine. It was hard to leave this view when it was time to check out. The property was quiet, and the people were friendly. It was also located in a great area to be close to restaurants, shops and fun water activities, but also out of the busyness of the touristy areas. You cannot walk to any restaurants and shops, so renting a car is helpful. This unit recently had an A/C unit put in and it worked very well in the main living room area. There was not an A/C unit in the bedroom and we at first were concerned it would be too warm at night. We were pleasantly surprised that it was not. There was a ceiling fan in the bedroom and the coolness from the living room did transfer some to the bedroom, so it was cool enough to sleep. In closing, this unit and property was a wonderful place to rent. We would definitely come back, and I would highly recommend it to any other couple looking for a nice place to stay with tremendous views.

Perfect spot on the sea

We were thrilled with this third floor condo.. Perfectly located to the salt water pool..the ocean and a short walk to town.. Condo was well appointed.. A lot of nice touches.. A couple of notes.. First..seeing it was a third floor condo..we sure could have used an elevator.. I'm 67 and hoofing three suitcases up three flights of stairs was stressful.. I know there's nothing the owners can do about that but if you are older..just know there's no lift.. For us, it was the perfect place to be for our 12th anniversary.. Thanks Kona Isle

Perfect spot waterfront

This condo was in PERFECT location up against the sea.. Lanai was a nice place to sit.. Condo was just a mile or two from kona center.. Restaurants, stores, market and more.. Also..the condo had a commanding view of the salt water pool.. Very entertaining.. Air conditioning was a nice touch.. All in all we couldn't have been happier..

Not only is the view spectacular but the owners of this condo are truly generous. You feel like a welcomed guest. The furnishings are pleasant to the eye and comfortable for the body. Plenty of towels, coffee, and condiments. Those small things made our time there truly a respite.

Great Place to Watch The Sunset

My wife and I stayed here for 9 nights, it was a great place for the two of us. The Lanai is just as pictured, uninterrupted view of the ocean and the sunsets. Everything was well stocked, so we were able to cook a couple nights easily. Short walk to a great coffee place (about 5 minutes), little longer walk to town, maybe 15-20 minutes but certainly a great location.

Everything and More!

This place was exactly what we wanted for our Hawaiian getaway! The views are spectacular, sunsets stunning, quiet, clean and well equipped! Everything you might need is available including a fishing pole (my husband caught a fish in front of our place on day for dinner!) The bed was so firm, yet cozy that we took a pic of the mattress brand to buy for ourselves! Our only disappointment were the beach chairs, they were too high for comfy beach use. We would stay again in a heartbeat!’

Great view - not sure if I would stay again

First and foremost the view from the balcony is outstanding - west facing so every night (8 out of 10) we would sit have our cocktail and watch the sunset. First night we caught a glimpse of a whale breaching. The grounds of the unit were well maintained and quite attractive. The unit was well kept and attractive. With that kind of an introduction why would I question whether to stay again. A good question and let me try to explain. First, we did not feel welcome (not anything the homeowner did, they were gracious and allowed an extended exit for a late night flight). Mostly from the residents condo association. We checked in late - around midnight as that is when the flight got in. We advised ahead of time and was told we could check-in that morning. We parked in one of the very few numbered parking spots - not knowing if that was one we would be assigned. In the morning when we checked in with the manager we were chided about parking in someone else's spot (yes the one spot was the spot of someone who worked at the airport and was actually later than we were); we were supposed to be in spot xx (we were not told) and that he was not told and he would have to move the owners car out of the spot and then this is where we would park. Somehow, the implication this was are fault. I was talking to my granddaughter on the phone late on Sunday morning (around 11) and the manager bee-lined from where he was grilling his lunch over to where we were to shout up at me that this was not allowed. Of course I noted many people speaking on phones on the balcony - but they were residents not renters. The pool is lovely, and I went down when it opened at 9:00 am to do some laps. Again a resident (2 actually) told me that if I wanted to swim laps I needed to find the public pool some 5 miles away and sign up for a time. Afterwards I carefully gauged the habits of the residents to find a 30 minute slot where I could swim and not disturb. This is a predominately retirement residence and it is beautiful, but they it is obvious they don't care for renters who might distrub their patterns, and I get that I have white hair too - but knowing that would I come back not sure - there is the view. Second, the unit is small, not a big deal and the living area is ample and the kitchen is fine - note that if you want to eat a table it is on the balcony, and who wouldn't of course I am afraid of making noise (and yes I was aware of quiet hours and was not talking in those times). The bedroom is more of the concern, bed and pillows terribly uncomfortable (we actually did an impromptu overnight to Hilo to see if we could get a decent nights sleep) and it is warm, but the fan is fine. The closet is full of items being stored - mops, vacuums, coolers, boogie boards and more so no place to hang clothes but there were a couple of shelves and the drawers in the nightstand. There is very limited storage for the guests. So the question on staying here again - the view is awesome, the best ever. It would be very difficult to find a better view or better grounds. The question is does the view offset the annoyances? If it is an assigned parking spot for the unit then say so upfront so you don't incur the wrath of someone whose spot you parked (justified). Be aware that you are not just a guest in the unit but in the whole development and observe the habits of those who live there. And if you can sleep on anything - then this should not be a problem. Location was good 1.5 miles from old town or city center as it were. But traffic is very heavy all day long - there is a marked lane for walkers, runners and bikers which is well used. But you need to know you are walking on a busy road, which sometimes is difficult to pull out of the parking lot. Again, it's all about trade-offs - super view, good location. Good for 2 - not sure about the sleeping 4. Lousy bed, minimal storage, and sometimes cranky residents. Your choice, now you know why I'm not sure if I would stay again.

WELL BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS - VERY PLEASED

For the price-point of a modest 1-bedroom condo further down the road from town, this was a 5-star accommodation. The ocean-front view is huge ... just amazing! LOVED the private balcony with the double-wide screened doors ... definitely helped bring the outside experience indoors. The condo pretty-much has everything you need, so that was a nice surprise! The cleaning ladies do a GREAT job and everything was in A+ condition. The buildings and grounds are very well maintained and manicured ... very pleased with the surroundings. If I had to suggest one thing, I wish I brought my pillow ... 😎 Thank you to the homeowner for offering a great accommodation at a fair price ... next time we’re in Kona your home will be the first we’ll look for!
