Great property

Had a reunion with friends and enjoyed the home and property immensely. Good communication, house was beautiful, and a two minute walk to the farm stand for coffee and bagels made the trip so good that we will be back for sure.

Great family vacation with lots to do!

David and Catherine's home is a special spot. Emery Farm has a lot to do. We biked & hiked the property. Walked the trail down to the dock and tried to fish at the River. We helped the farmers pick peaches. The ping pong table, swing and fire pit were added fun. Every morning we had coffee, cider donuts and fresh fruit at the farm stand. Holly and Maria have fresh coffee, fruit, veggies and pies at the stand. Situated close to Downtown Portsmouth and Jeness Beach , a family can tour all of the shops, historic spots, great restaurants & surf at the beach! UNH is close for a quick visit. Kittery outlets are also close for shopping.

Magical and picture-perfect vacation home with sensational style!

This was one of our very favorite vacations ever. The property that this house is on is simply magical, and has been owned in the same family for over 360 years. The home itself is incredibly tasteful, and could be pulled from the pages of Architectural Digest, with beautiful antiques, artwork, comfortable furnishings, and modern finishes. The grounds are exquisite with plenty of things to do and explore. Their family farm stand next to the property offers the best in fine produce, and healthy gourmet food items, (we also bought some artisan pottery), and it also features a petting zoo with darling farm animals. There is also a beautiful river on the other side of the property to enjoy a scenic walk and/or swim in. The owners David and Catherine were so very wonderful, hospitable, and kind too, a great experience. We are looking forward to going back again, and have been raving to friends about oir incredible time there. They already want to join in our next trip! Enjoy, you will be thrilled with your stay there!

A Perfect Farmhouse in New Hamshire

From the moment we made the reservation, we were hooked. The house is perfection - from the linens, the personal touches, beautiful artwork and decor. This is a special place, made more so by the love and care of its owners. Whether you are planning for a family meal or looking for a cozy corner to reflect and get quiet, this house is for you.

Enjoyable stay!

Large, beautiful home. Two minute walk to the farm stand with tasty ice cream and breakfast sandwiches and farm animals. The dock / boat was gorgeous and a highlight of the trip! Fun place to fish or just take in the beautiful lake. Owner gives a tour of their home and shows you around the house and property upon check in. Very responsible and helpful owners.

Gorgeous home

This was the perfect home for a weekend getaway with dear friends. It’s truly stunning and looks even better in person, which is not typically the case when renting houses. It was a pleasure to be surrounded by such beautiful artwork and decor. The location is ideal being in such close proximity to the town of Durham and Portsmouth. It was also so convenient to have Emery Farm right down the hill for coffee! Even though one of the two days had rained while we were there, it was such a pleasure to hunker down in such an amazing space. It was exactly what all of us needed! David and Katherine couldn’t have been more welcoming. We look forward to staying there again!

Beautiful property

This amazing property was more than we expected from the fresh peaches, the eggs from the farm and of course the trampoline, tree swing and hammock. The house itself is equipped with all your needs and is absolutely beautiful and ultra comfortable. Highly recommend!

Stunning property and warm entertainment spaces

We had a wonderful stay! The house has so much interesting art, relaxing sitting spaces, and special nooks that our kids loved to seek out for some down time. It offers the ultimate in large entertainment spaces, and sleeps 5-6 comfortably. The indoor ping pong table in the enclosed porch was a big hit, especially when out kids discovered the ball machine. There was also a trampoline and a beautiful, vast barn. The house is not a good match for young children/toddlers, because there are many fragile and small pieces of art throughout that would need to be moved to higher spaces. We were met in person and shown around the property. An extra wonderful bonus is that there is a farmer's market at the base of the property's field with coffee, hot cider, donuts, and so on! Thank you to David and Catherine!

Great Stay

It is a beautiful place to relax and entertain. We loved the kitchen, huge patio, Sonos sound system, art everywhere, ping pong table, big bath tub, amazing fire pit, nearby farm stand and petting barn. A choice you definitely won't regret.

Gorgeous, beautifully appointed home with recent updates.

We enjoyed a wonderful four day stay at Emery Farm House with our children. David was easy to communicate with from the start and greeted us upon our arrival to show us around. During our stay we enjoyed recreating on the trampoline, using the ping pong table, playing chess, cooking in the fabulous kitchen, visiting the farm stand daily, and just relaxing. The house is close to many attractions: downtown Portsmouth, Water Country, Ogunquit and Kittery, ME.

Inviting and Relaxing

The first impression of the house was that it was very inviting and welcoming. As soon as we stepped into the house it felt like a place we would enjoy. All of us enjoyed the yard, some of us just sitting, some on the trampoline, and the breeze was great. We did not get to spend too much time there sure to wedding activities but what time we were there was relaxing.

Idyllic New England Seacoast farm house with modern twist

Rented this historic farmhouse in my New England hometown in order to accommodate out-of-town guests for a family reunion. Everything about it was ideal and easy: location and setting, amenities, professionally decorated home that exudes warmth and love, a wonderful yard with plenty of space and activities for everyone, and very thoughtful and gracious "hosts" (David and Catherine), who were responsive and attentive to our specific weekend needs. We very much felt that they shared their home with us for the weekend (they did!) and their love for their home was visible in so many of the details of decorating, amenities, and host offerings. For out-of-towners, you cannot do much better: Emery Farm is located a short drive from downtown Durham, Dover, Newmarket, or Portsmouth and all of the offerings of the NH Seacoast. Also a short drive to beaches and Kittery, Maine (beaches, outlet shopping). Our weekend was far too short - we could have spent many more hours just exploring the farm property and river dock. Wagon Hill farm - a wonderful public property/park of walking paths and riverfront across - is also across the street. You could spend your entire visit living in and exploring this wonderful property, wishing it was yours! Thank you David and Catherine for a wonderful stay that ranks among my best VRBOs/Air BnBs (and I've done many across the globe - so glad this special one was so close to home)!

Relaxing and Perfect Getaway!

What a wonderful experience! Booking: Working with David to book this property was personal and easy. He and I were able to email text and talk about the property and he ensured us that we wouldn't be disappointed. He wasn't kidding! He and Missy were available for any questions we had prior to our stay and everything went exactly as planned and exceeded our expectations. Arrival: When we arrived at the Farm we were greeted by Missy who walked us around the home and showed us where to find everything and anything we would need. The home was super clean and impressive. We took a nice short walk down the hill to Emery Farm's stand and purchased nice cheese, beautiful tomatoes (although David had left us a few already!) and fresh cucumbers. Around the property we noticed other "extras" we hadn't anticipated and were blown away by the beauty of where we were. Days: We enjoyed a wonderful dinner in Portsmouth at Raw 34, but not until we spent some time shopping our first evening. If you haven't been to Portsmouth, what a treat you will find! The next morning we woke up and walked down the hill to pick up the fresh eggs we had reserved (we had to reserve the fresh eggs, because they sell out so quickly!) We came back to our weekend home to make a wonderful big breakfast for our group and hung around enjoying our amazing views of the farm. Our afternoon was spent in Portsmouth- we enjoyed shopping, a late lunch/early dinner near the tugboats with some wonderful drinks and then we headed to the Gundalow Sailing Company for a 6pm sail that we had reserved- what an amazing evening sail! We were able to bring wine and cheese with us and it was a great experience. Thank you David for recommending it! After our sail, we headed to a local eatery to have some appetizers and ended our night back at the farm relaxing and telling stories. Goodbye: We were sad to leave on Sunday. Our only regret is that we didn't have an extra day! Before we left on Sunday we took a walk to the dock on property to take in the view and explore. All 6 of us agreed that this was the perfect weekend (with no kids) escape and we would love to be able to return. You will not go wrong with this property- it will exceed your expectations. Thank you David, Katherine and Missy!

Emery Farm was wonderful!

Our family ( 6 adults and a 3 month old ) stayed at this incredible property recently when we were in the area for a family wedding. It couldn't have been more perfect . . . a full kitchen, comfy bed rooms and enough living area so that we could spread out. The congenial hosts went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable and well taken care of. The grounds are amazing with a huge rolling lawn, barn, produce stand and across the road, more land and a dock on the river. I can't enough about this place, I only wish that it was closer so that we could go there often.
