This property has the perfect location - you are in the woods but only 5 minutes from everything you need. Nice ride to the beaches - we are already planning to stay again next year.

Lovely weekend away
My family and I loved your home, only problem was the ants, but we took cared of them. The lake view was lovely, and my son truly lived looking at the water and walking around. Thanks so much..

Quiet and comfortable
The house is well equipped for a comfortable stay! Appreciated the extra touches. Very nice neighborhood for taking a walk. Although not water front it had a nice little area to sit and enjoy the water just steps away. Also a beautiful area to drive around and sightsee!

Angle Pond
The drive to the property is a gravel road, but there is pavement to park on at the house. There are 3 sets of steps (2-3) down from living/dining/kitchen area to bedrooms and bathroom. Only one has handrails. Beds were comfortable and the view is very picturesque. We were mostly there for sleeping though since we day tripped the whole week. Saw some chipmunks and squirrels too. Even a woodpecker and bluejay too. Leaves were awesome for viewing.

Location is everything
The water in the pond was so relaxing and not too cold. Hubby totally enjoyed fishing from the pier. The home was quite comfortable and easy to be in for 2 weeks. I didn't quite expect there to be so many houses along the shore and

Wedding weekend
My family was in the area for a wedding. My mom rented a house, but my husband and I wanted our own. This is the first time I have rented a vacation home and it was absolutely amazing. My nieces decided to stay with us and the place was very well stocked with plenty of room for all of us.

Relaxing atmosphere
House was as pictured. Very accommodating for our bikes to be on the screened in porch when we were not cycling. Beautiful area to walk around. Lots of humidity that week but the owners put in a dehumidifier which worked so great that we didn’t need to use the AC units.

Great hotel alternative
Communication with the owners was great. They were responsive. Upon arrival, there were fresh flowers on the table and the cabin was immaculate. Great notes all around the place and it was well stocked with essentials for cleaning and cooking. We were there to visit our mother in a nursing home and for family so we did not take advantage of the pond!. We recommend this property.

Perfect for what we were looking for
We were looking for a rental close to family. The view of the lake was a bonus. The house is older but clean. The rental looks just like the pictures on line. We had an issue with the shower but the owner had the shower repaired the same day which was appreciated. As long as you understand the house is older and has some quirks associated with older homes, I would not hesitate to recommend staying here.

Very nice for the money
This house provides a rustic vacation spot, but was also very inexpensive, so I think was fairly priced for what it was. Being pregnant, I specifically looked for listings that were air conditioned, and this property said it was, but really had a very loud window unit in only one of the rooms. Other than that, the description was pretty accurate to what we had available to us.

Comfy house with view of pretty pond
Nice sized cottage for a couple or small family. Was damp when we arrived but dehumidifiers really did the job. There are helpful notes posted around the house. House could use better kitchen knives and more cutlery but otherwise was delightful. Not right on pond but you can see it. There are chairs down at pond and small dock. Looked weedy and mucky for swimming but doable, especially with water shoes. A nearby pasta restaurant, Pasta Loft, was great for take out.

A Place That You Will Always Remember
I wish to thank the owners - Anju and Frank - for their hospitality, patience and generosity. When we came in on the first day, we were pleasantly surprised.  There it was - a "welcome" basket - full of goodies: water, popcorn, nuts, oatmeal & crystal light drink powder.  We really felt welcomed.  Anju was always there for us.  When we requested for TV inside one of the bedrooms, we got it;  when we requested for fans  we got it;  when we requested extra trash bins, we got it;  when we needed help in manipulating the TV, we got it. There were ample supplies for a starter - soap, shampoo, conditioner, coffee, water and dishwasher liquid, etc. Anju even invited us for a canoe ride.  I felt like Anju treated us as family.  Anju and Frank are the best hosts ever.  They are one of a kind.  We were fortunate to have met them.  The place is cozy and we enjoyed our stay very much and we won't hesitate to go back.  It's what we needed for a much needed vacation. Anju's and Frank's house at Angle Pond is a place that will always be remembered. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate it a "12."

OnAnglepond
Anju was great about getting back to us. Great base for our date trips to Salem,NH; Portsmouth & took commuter ferry from Salem, MA (1-1.25 hr) to Boston. $8/pp each way 7 am & 5:30 pm only. 1 hr ferry ride right to Long Wharf for Aquarium & City View trolley, etc. Took our kayaks out on pond/lake. Clear water, nice sandy beach. Loved sitting on dock. Camp is lake access, not lakefront. It is listed both ways. Owner has short path to water. I did sit on porch to view lake on rainy day. We usually rent direct waterfront - this is very easy access & the beach & dock are well kept. The appliances are new & Anju left out coffee, nuts, paper towels & linen. Nice to have washer & dryer! Thank you for the fireplace:). We hoped to use it again last night but it was very warm. If you have kids, the backyard is not suitable for play. The English Muffin was wonderful for breakfast & we had a great dinner at the Commodore Grill our first night. The camp has just about everything you. We had a great time!! Thank you Anju!!

Clean and adequate
The cottage was clean and adequate for our stay. Outdoor wicker furniture was the living room furniture which was not comfortable. Bed post on twin bed in one bedroom was loose and kept falling off. Decor needs to be updated, and overall it needs to be refreshed. The owner furnished plenty of kitchen supplies including coffee pods which was very thoughtful.

Very nice place to lay your head for some R and R
The cottage was cozy. It is definitely better than staying at a hotel. It accommodated 4 of us comfortably. The owner was definitely nice. She even got us a gift. It is definitely a home away from home. I would definitely use this cottage again.

About the host

Hosted by Anju

Host profile image
We are retired software engineers who have lived in New England for 30+ years. We love living on the lake, enjoying our time in the White mountains, the Atlantic coastline, and Boston. We like canoeing, hiking, bird watching, and gardening. It gives us joy to offer our guest house as a vacation rental to extended families in New England, tourists who wish to experience the New Hampshire life, and those who visit New Hampshire to re-live memories from their past. We welcome guests who are interested in fishing, winter ice-fishing, bird-watching, swimming, canoeing/kayaking, site seeing, and activities in the New England region.

Why they chose this property

The lake looks beautiful in every season of the year. There are spectacular sunsets with pink, purple, and peach hues. The lake has magical copper/gold hues at sunset, and waves with blue white caps in choppy weather. We enjoy seeing a variety of migrating ducks, geese, buffleheads, loons, blue herons, and other water fowl throughout the year. We enjoy seeing the native New England birds such as the pileated wood-pecker, blue jays, cardinals, gold finches and humming-birds to name a few. There are some colorful hyacinths and water lilies in some of the coves of the lake. It's no wonder that Robert Frost lived in neighboring town of Derry NH, and wrote poems about the beauty of this area.

The vacation home has the advantage of being away from the hustle and bustle of a city, and yet having access to town amenities and restaurants. Life here is quiet, safe and peaceful, and yet not isolated or secluded.

What makes this property unique

The home is on the largest property on the south-eastern tip of Angle Pond. It is almost a 2 acres, estate like property on a lake. There is a 800 ft. hiking trail that circles through Maples and tall pine trees, and has the most beautiful colors in the Fall season! There is a private back-yard behind the guest-house. It is a very short walk to the beach, dock, and fire-pit to relax in the evening while enjoying the sunsets.
