The Hideout is also conveniently located within a few minutes to the zoo, horseback riding, paintball, driving range, and a water park. Approximately ten (10) minutes to a state park. Lake Wallenpaupack (THE BIG LAKE---yes it’s HUGE!!!!) is 10 minutes away and offers boat/tubing rentals, jet skiing, and marina facilities. We are just 15 minutes from great hiking at the Varden Conservation or Lacawanna Nature Preserve. What are you waiting for….go out and explore!!!!

Additional fees charged per the Community for certain amenity rentals: lift tickets, ski & snowboard rentals, ice skating rentals, golf rentals, and boat/kayak rentals.

There is no fee for the pools and beaches and you will be provided with six (6)+3 passes for access please refer to for additional questions.
Rite Aid, CVS and Weiss supermarket is in 10 minute drive . farmers market is in 5 minutes drive . Reservation must be made at least 3 days prior check-in.

Labor Day 2023

Great relaxing stay for the Labor Day weekend. Host was very helpful and flexible. House was perfect for family + dog, with huge yard full of fun additions. Very close to lake, boat ramps, beach club and nearby attractions. Will be back!

The Hideout is a perfect name

Felt like a dream because snapped back into reality once we returned home. The Hideout and this particular home so clean and cozy, home away from home. We all enjoyed the fresh air and activities. Hope we can stay longer next time to enjoy more.

If there were more stars to give, I would.

First of all, the owners were great. They actually CARED about our vacation being a success. Communication was always quick and informative. They were very attentive. These folks literally saved our vacation. The home was beautiful. Spacious, bright, clean and comfortable. A very pretty home on a wooded lot near the lake. Great hot tub and fire pit area. We loved everything about this home and we hope to return. Thank you George and Jessica. So much.

Better than expected

The house and accommodations were great. Home was well stocked. The place was very clean and comfortable. It worked out great for our family. Location was near the lake/ beach. We would definitely go back.

Nice vacation

We came for a family vacation. The property was nice and it was very clean. We enjoyed the amenities even though you have to pay attention to the times for opening and closing as they do vary. The pools and beach were nice and we would definitely return. The host was great! She communicated and checked in on us to see how the visit went. I really appreciated how easy the check in process and use of the facilities was. Overall, great trip and property.

Very cute place & Community

House is very cute and updated nicely. Anything you could need is in the kitchen even stone pizza board for oven. Beds were comfortable including the sofa pullout beds. Community is nice and has pedestrian lane to walk/run/along main road. Lake water warm and beach area nice as well as pool which was all only a short drive away. Tiki bar not open every day which is surprising for the summer. But fear not, there was a blender at the house and we made our own Pina coladas!

Family vacation stay

Nice place

We (2 adults, one elementary school age child and 3 teens) enjoyed our stay at the house. Clean and comfy place with a nice wrap around deck off the upper level. Kitchen was well stocked for use. Fire pit in the back. Convenient washer and dryer. I gave it 4 stars for worn mattresses, doors that wouldn’t close easily and sound that carried easily throughout the house. House is in a community with nice amenities (lake, pool, kayak rentals) but they were not yet open when we stayed in March. Would stay there again.

Fantastic snowy weekend

We had such a great time staying here with our COVID pod of 6. The large kitchen table was perfect for Valentine’s Day brunch and game night. The kitchen was stocked with EVERYTHING you would need for cooking. We had about a foot of snow on the ground but everything was plowed so we had no problem coming in and out. Super clean and comfy beds. We are already talking about returning again!

Thanksgiving week

A very relaxing week during Covid with movies and games. Kathryn was great, the kitchen is very nicely supplied with cookware and utensils. Turkey and deer in the backyard amused my almost 2 yr old grandson. Separate controls for the heat in each bedroom is also a great feature.

A lovely getaway

Kathryn was wonderfully accommodating to our last minute booking after we had a plumbing leak and needed to get out of the house quickly! The community was perfect for a relaxing getaway, surrounded by beautiful nature and lots of things to do with few people around in September (which was great during a pandemic). Our dogs especially loved the dog park!

Great family vaca

My family and myself enjoyed our quick getaway. The house was very accomodating and spacious for all of us. House comes equipped with everything no need to carry anything at all. Wonderful Hideout Weekend

We had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend at this lovely house in The Hideout! The owner, Kathrin was a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating. Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in The Hideout!

Clean, spacious open floor plan

Our stay was excellent. Enjoyed cooking/dining in large open Kitchen and entertaining in spacious great room. Beds were so comfortable. All sheets , linens , bath towels and beach towels are provided . Kathrin was very responsive and let us checkin and checkout early. Will definitely book again.

Perfect lake house experience! Great house, beautiful interior, very comfortable!

We had a lovely time. The owners were very welcoming and were great with communication. The hideout is a lovely community with everything you need on site. The house is just as pictured, beautiful deck, plenty of space and a screened in porch. We had a lovely time and would book again.

Great for a group getaway!

5 stars across the board for Kathrin and her beautiful home. This was the perfect getaway home for my friends and I over the long holiday weekend. The house comfortably accommodated 9 of us and there was plenty of room to hang out around the dining table and in the living room. The place was very clean, warm and comfortable. The customer service was A-1 as well. We couldn't figure out the internet password, I shot Kathrin a text and within 1-2 minutes I got a very friendly phone call welcoming us to the property, wishing us a good time, and the password issue was all figured out. Kathrin even sent a text to check on us on check-in day because it was getting late and we hadn't arrived yet :) I recommend this house in The Hideout hands down. You won't be disappointed.
