About this property

Farmhouse with Magnificent Sea Views

Old farmhouse refurbished as a holiday home with magnificent views of Dingle Bay, Skellig Rocks and the Atlantic. Four bedrooms, sleeping 8. €400-600 per week. Excellently situated for exploring the Dingle Peninsula and surrounding Kerry countryside.

The Dingle Peninsula has a lot to offer. Dingle Town (12km) has plenty of pubs and restaurants to suit most tastes. There is traditional Irish music and dancing for the energetic; and some of the finest seafood to be found in Ireland. Dingle Town hosts an aquarium and the most famous local attraction is a visit to see Fungi, the friendly Dingle dolphin, at the mouth of the harbour where he has lived for twenty years.

Also in the area there are pottery and craft stores, one of which offers the opportunity to test your own pottery skills! Excellent golf courses, sandy beaches with shore angling, and bike hire is available; as is horse-riding. There are many archaeological sites in the west of the peninsula with plenty of walks linking them, most notably the Dingle Way. The property overlooks the impressive Iron Age Dunbeg Fort.

The house itself has four bedrooms (3 double, 1 twin), and is able to sleep ten. An infant’s cot is also available.

The living room boasts an open coal / peat fire, with the house also having storage heating. There is a large, walled front garden with fantastic views and a private drive up to the side of the house. Worth a special mention is the Stone House restaurant and bar, which is a short walk from the house.

The house offers the opportunity to stay within easy reach of the Dingle peninsula’s renowned tourist attractions; whilst retaining a quiet and idyllic setting overlooking the expanse of the Atlantic Ocean.

Nice Old Farmhouse
The house is a traditional old farmhouse. The equipment is simple but very clean. The beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is quite small for more than 3 people. Electricity must be paid additionally (ca. 25 € per week ) and also bathtowells are not provided. The view is amazing and the housekeepers are very friendly.

Rustic charm coupled with the best views I’ve EVER seen out of my bedroom window. I was here specifically for the Dingle marathon and it was absolutely perfect. As long as you don’t mind roughing it a bit. Also, make sure you bring towels/linens, fly into Shannon & rent a car!

Beautiful, welcoming, comfortable Irish farmhouse
We stayed Saturday - Tuesday and have a very wonderful time. The house was very comfortable with incredible views of the bay. The weather even cooperated (sunny and breezy) to make the visit unforgettable. The house was clean, and the fresh flowers were a welcoming touch. The beds were very comfortable with a warm duvet and extra pillows and blankets available. The directions were very clear and easy to follow. (We also had dinner at the Stonehouse Restaurant which was excellent.) This was the final part of a longer vacation and I'm sorry we couldn't stay longer. We will definitely try to come back for a longer stay.

Not accurate details about several things about this property listing
How do I start. On the day that I arrived at this property it in the midst of a storm the red gate on the driveway wasn’t secured back and swung in the wind and went through the passenger window on my van shattering glass over my little dog. Luckily he was unhurt. On contacting the property owner he didn’t apologise or offer to pay for the damage to my van.He has advertised that there is a restaurant nearby but was closed for the winter on asking the owner about this he told it’s seasonal but that’s not stated on his website. Also he is still advertising about the famous Fungi the Dolphin in Dingle harbour. Funghi died/ went missing 4 years ago and he is still advertising that it’s still there. Also two local pubs are not dog friendly. I had to pay electric and a lot wood and coal for the open fireplace. Not impressed. Won’t be going back there again.

Limited amenities
This farm house is in a beautiful location and great proximity to Dingle and many tourist sights. The electricity to the fridge had been off prior to our arrival, so the temp took time to cool off. You have to pay for electricity. There is a fire place but there was not enough wood/moss to start even one fire to warm up. The electric heaters take a long time to minimally warm the house. There was one roll of toilet paper for 3 people for 4 days. There is zero Wi-Fi and very limited cell signal in the area. House was clean but would not stay again due to lack basic amenities.

A Nice Find!
We had a wonderful stay in the cottage. Everything was super clean and very handy. It is truly a quaint traditional Irish farmhouse with a fantastic view of the water. Very convenient location but away from the bustle of town. So very peaceful listening to the sheep bleating as we drifted off to sleep. It took us a couple days to really get the heat working but we’re plenty warm at night with our comforters. The only down side us you must bring your own towels which is bulky when packin. Mary had brown bread, butter and cream for our tea upon arrival. Very much appreciated.

House Misrepresented in pictures-Horrible-Cold-Dingle House
This house was totally misrepresented by the pictures on the VRBO by the owner. The bedrooms were not prepared for our arrival. The house was cold, damp, and musty. The red flags on this house from the owner are: 1) bring your own towels and sheets and pay your own electricity, plus No cancellation policy. We did NOT stay at this horrible property. Plus, she failed to mention the twenty stairs to climb to the bedrooms. Try hauling your luggage to lumpy beds on the second floor. VRBO should WITHDRAW this property from the Website. Someone from VRBO should make a site visit to this house. This house was way below substandard. BEWARE! DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY for your Irish travels.

stunning views and cute little lambs
We were a group of 3 adults and 2 children who stayed 4 days at this property. The views are stunning, since the front of the house faces the Atlantic and the Iveragh penninsula. The beds were comfortable, and there was ample room for us. This is a traditional old farmhouse like you see them all over the Irish countryside - my husband and his sister were delighted since they grew up in pretty much the same kind of house. The kids didn't care much for the view but loved the lambs - we were there during lambing season and I think 16 lambs were born while we stayed there. The caretakers next door, despite being so busy with lambing and calving, took time to let the kids hold and pet the lambs each evening - a big thanks especially to the daughter of them, who was lovely with our kids. Location-wise, the Dingle way is accessible on foot by walking about 400m or so along the Slea head drive (which passes in front of the house), and we did a bit of it (not much - kids complaining too much), with amazing, gorgeous views. Dunbeg Fort is right next door, though we didn't go there on this trip. Dunquin and Cumenoole Beach are pretty close. Our recommendation for cafe fare and beautiful, stunning pottery made on the premises is the Louis Mulcahey Pottery and Cafe in Clogher, on the Slea Head drive a little after Dunquin. We ate a light lunch there every day. Highly recommended. We would definitely stay at this property again!
