About this property

Ocean Front Home with Direct Beach & Ocean Access

Your backyard is the semiprivate beach and ocean when you’re vacationing at our 3 bedroom, 2 bath townhome that sleeps 8. Relax and enjoy the ocean and breathtaking views and beautiful sunset. The road leading to our home is private and our home is located in a very quiet and safe neighborhood.

All three stories of the house overlook the ocean. The top floor has the main bedroom with a king size bed. The second bedroom has 2 queen size beds. Both bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower. There is a washer and dryer available for our guests to use.

The middle floor has a fully equipped kitchen and a living area with a 42 inch flat screen TV with cable & WiFi and a gas fireplace. The dining area is near the kitchen where you can share meals & visit with each other. The outdoor deck has a gas BBQ and seating. There is also a third bedroom with a double bed & an adjacent bathroom with a shower on this level.

On the lower floor there is a large family room with 3 sofas, a flat screen TV and wall to wall sliding glass doors that provide easy access to the beach. It’s a quiet place to read, relax or watch TV.

There are often sightings of dolphins, whales, seals, pelicans diving for fish & migrating birds. You can enjoy collecting seashells on one of Santa Cruz County’s longest
semiprivate beaches and take walks on the sand while enjoying the ocean. Some guests enjoy building a fire & roasting marshmallows on the beach while listening to the waves pound against the shore.

It’s a very special beach house with a real home feeling & original artwork created by the owner. We hope you come & enjoy this magical place with your family and friends!

Quiet beach rental

Lovely property which seemed like we had our own private beach. There is no grocery shopping or restaurants close and we thought the rental had a hot tub but really enjoyed our stay, Beach towels, beach chair and beach toys were available. I could watch the kids on the beach from the porch. I would rent the property again.

Beach Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at this ocean front home. You could hear and view the ocean from each of the 3 stories. It was nice to be able to have a space for the children to enjoy themselves as well as a separate space for the adults to mingle. We definitely recommend this condo to anyone looking for a cozy, spacious and comfortable place to enjoy a swmi private beach.

Gorgeous spot

Gorgeous spot. Comfortable beds. Beautiful house. The beach is gorgeous. The 2 queen beds had lots of sand and hairs in both beds… I don’t know that they were changed. The other beds seemed clean though. The floors were really dirty. Definitely couldn’t go barefoot unless you want super brown, dirt, hair, sand on your feet. But everything else with the house was great. The last side note is that they were having red tide (not the fault of the owners of the VRBO obviously but it would be nice if they noted to watch for it) - we didn’t know what that was but talking to other locals on the beach they let us know it wasn’t safe to swim (but our kids were already in) and that it happens every year around this time (beginning of October). We had 3 out of 5 kids show symptoms after swimming. We pulled them out as soon as we were told (they were only in the water maybe 15 min!) but we didn’t know and wish we had. The property overall was great though and we enjoyed our stay. We loved being able to roast hotdogs and marshmallows on the beach. And the views are stunning. It is a great place to stay right on the water.

Bring firewood (Yule log)

Awesome view of the ocean , if you want a private beach this is the place to go , bring a box of Yule log and you can have a bonfire at night it’s awesome since it’s private they no one that bothers you and you can enjoy time with the family

Mini but roomy getaway

My husband loved the view. You have the ocean front view from each floor. The beds were very comfy for me. The pillows and blankets were so soft. The heater wasn't working but I reached out to them and they offered to fix it right away but we ended up using the portable heaters provided in the bedrooms and that worked fine. We stayed in March. I brought small children with me so I was a little anxious about the balconies because the ground from the balconies/floors were a few stories high. But it was a truly short walk to the beach. Literally its backyard and that was awesome. You take a shared walkway to the beach.

Reservation was a bust!!!

This was the worst VRBO experience I have ever had!! I have rented multiple times with no issue so I am very familiar with the process. After my reservation was confirmed, the owner never provided check in instructions, replied to my emails sent in advance of arrival, or responded to my calls made through the app upon arrival. I arrived at the property using the address in my reservation and there was garbage scattered around the porch and no light on. I knocked on the neighbors door and confirmed I had the right place and phone number for the owner. He also could not reach the owner. Now it is dark and I have two kids in the car with no accommodations. The most terrifying experience for a single mom! Thankfully I found a hotel with an opening. It has been over a month and I still have not heard from the owner or been refunded my money. And I have spent hours escalating to VRBO and they can’t get ahold of the owner either. Total disaster. I would give zero stars if I could and should also be refunded for the food that perished by not having a fridge as promised. No idea why this listing is allowed to stay up. DO NOT RENT HERE!! I demand a refund!!!

La Selva is a beautiful place to stay, and this unit is in excellent shape. The owner was extremely responsive throughout each step of the process and during our stay. We will certainly be coming back!

Girls' Beach Trip

All 8 of us truly had the time of our lives at your beach house. Everything was clean, organized, had plenty of room and great views. We did, however, have a few challenges. We noticed that when we were cooking in the oven, hot air would escape on the left side, actually heating up the knobs on the cabinets to the degree of almost burning our hands to the touch. In addition, when we were following the check-out directions and turned the self-cleaning oven on, the heat actually "burned" the wood on the cabinet next to the oven. (I will send you pictures of the burned wood, so that you will see that it happened when we were cleaning the oven.) Also, we ran out of toilet paper the morning that we were leaving and didn't know if any more was stored in other places other than the bathrooms. One more suggestion: the online pictures were a little deceiving in that we all thought that we would be steps from the beach/sand right outside the sliding doors...the beach was actually down several flights and steps, making it a little more challenging to carry our chairs/stuff. However, we still had a marvelous time on our trip and nothing got in the way of our fun!

Great Vacation!

We would like to thank the wonderful family who shared this lovely vacation home with us! We LOVED being able to go right to the beach anytime of day. We were able to watch whales, dolphins and a seal while sitting on the balcony! Great time was had by everyone and will plan to come again next year.

Great Location and Fun for All!

Great location! Able to watch the kids from the balcony with a glass of wine! Watched the dolphins play and greatly enjoyed our short stay. It’s a short walk down some stairs to the beach. If you are older please be aware there are stairs to get to the beach. Loved the personalization of the one of a kind artwork in the walls. One drawback is that the property has been well used. Could use a little love to get that 5th star. Would rent again. :).

Beautiful view

We enjoyed our stay greatly. Spent 8 nights here in October of 2018, 2 adults and our 6 kids ranging from 6-17. Everyone felt like we had plenty of room and my only complaint was the upstairs queen bed wasn’t very comfortable. Most mornings shortly after finishing up breakfast we could look outside and watch the dolphins playing right outside. We are already trying to find a time to come back next year.

Great getaway for a quick girls trip!

Three generations really enjoyed this beach location! The condo was clean and it had all the amenities we needed for a quick two day trip. The only downfall for us was all the steps. My 80 year old m-I-l had a hard time getting up and down everyday and was unable to go to the bottom floor or get down to the sand. This was not a big deal as she truly enjoyed sitting on the deck and enjoying the waves from there. The location is perfect and would definitely return with my family again!

I'm a lover of the wondrous ocean. Every time I'm at our beautiful home and go out on the deck to see the spectacular view of the water, I'm always amazed.

The sunsets are breathtakingly beautiful. Many people use this time of day to build a bon- fire which are legal at our semi private beach, have an outdoor picnic and roast marshmallows..
