Beautiful cottage, excellent location and lovely host
It was our first visit to Beddgelert and we absolutely loved staying in the 'Beddgelert House' cottage. The cottage was beautiful, spacious and immaculately clean. Having two bathrooms is definitely a plus point. The host (Jackie) was very helpful, always reachable and excellent at communication. It was so lovely of the host to leave a generously large and delicious cake on our arrival and extending the checkout time by 30 minutes on our departure. I would highly recommend the Beddgelert House and would definitely love to stay again.

Beddgelert experience
Wonderful property in a beautiful North Wales village. Perfect location to experience the incredible scenery and activities. House is open plan. Appreciated the two bathrooms as we were a group of 5 ladies. The house was equipped with everything we needed. Within easy walking distance to the village amenities. Found the beds a little hard for our taste. Had no problem with our stay host Jackie checked in with us and responded quickly to any inquiry. Village has everything we needed very friendly, be aware of opening and closing times, and when meals are served in the local pubs so that you are not disappointed. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay Would highly recommend this property and location.

Walking weekend in Snowdon
Friends and I had been looking for a good value place to stay for 3 of us close to the Rhyd Ddu path for a walk up Snowdon and settled on this place. Lovely house with all the 'mod cons' for a few of us, really close to the village with shop, tourist shop, lovely pub and really close to the Rhyd Ddu footpath car park. House is well laid out with good views from the sitting area and good kitchen together with all the current streaming tv options and log burner for the evenings after the walk and pub. Such a nice place to stay we've decided to make it an annual trip! The only thing that stopped me giving the location a 5 star rating was the condition of the short access road, but this isn't the fault of the property owner, just me being picky!

Hospitality closes early!
Great location for the Snowden range. Lovely open plan area if you are socialising with friends. Beds comfortable and shower hot. We struggled with the central heating however the fire made up for lack of heat from radiators - I’m sure there is a simple solution had we asked. If you are going Oct, Nov, Dec be aware that pubs closed for food at 5pm and closed for drinks at 6pm. Staff shortages. Take all you need with you.

Ideal location
This is a stunning house. Light and airy with high ceilings. Very short walk to beautiful Beddgelert. The surrounding area is stunning. The house is well appointed. Saracens Head pub does excellent meals (not cheap) but it was unfortunate for us that due to the pesky virus and a local flood, many places were closed. Personally I would have liked Kingsize beds given the size of the bedrooms. Hubby is 6ft 3in and struggled in a double. All in all however the location and facilities are second to none.

Snowdonia is Great!
We had a really enjoyable trip with our friends in Beddgelert. The location of the house was excellent with a few minutes walk to the village. A bit of a bumpy road to the house so be careful. The house was satisfactory and most areas were fine. But the kitchen was grubby and this does need attention. There are also areas that could do with a bit of a facelift / replacement. But it did not spoil our trip and our enthusiasm for the area.

Lovely property in a fantastic location
We stayed for 5 nights in October with our 2 teenaged children. The house was very clean and well presented. The house is well equipped and felt like a home from home. The house is in a superb location, being a 2 minute walk into the village and perfect for exploring Snowdonia. There are lots of activities to choose from locally, providing a varied holiday which kept our teenaged children happy. Jackie was very amenable and easy to communicate with. We would definitely use the property again.

Fabulous
This property was perfect for our group - fantastic location with plenty of pubs close by and the best of Snowdonia on the doorstep. The owners treat is as a home and it shows - lots of attention to detail, lovely furnishings and better equipped than our own. Would love to go back again.

A real joy
Five of us spent a great, late April week at Beddgelert House in what turned out to be a wintry one, but it didn't matter. The cental heating system is really efficient, and we also made use of the very welcome and effective wood-burning stove. Everything in the house is well organised and clean. The views or the surrounding hills from the french windows are a bonus. Every step of the way, the attention to detail, from booking stage to the house information folder, made the whole experience a very pleasant and easy-going one. That, coupled with the location, on the edge of the village, not far from the steam railway station, pubs, village store, restaurant, and with bus routes around Snowdonia, all rounded out the holiday. We were beaten back from the summit of Snowdon by the weather, but there were plenty of lower-level climbs that were satisfying. We will return.

Absolutely Perfect retreat
This was our second visit to Beddgelert House! We had another fantastic stay. The property is absolutely fantastic! Well equipped, super clean and extremely cosy! Especially once you get the log burner going which is a delight. Its in an amazing location in Beddgelert. The walks in this area are simply stunning. The customer service that the owner provides is faultless, very detailed information is provided. As soon as you walk through the front door you immediately feel at home. Honestly couldn't have asked for more! I would recommend this property to anyone without hesitation, its a wonderful place for a holiday or break. Thankyou Shaun and Jackie Chris and Rebecca, Lancashire

Fabulous base for exploring Snowdonia
We (a family of four, two girls 8 and 10) stayed at Beddgelert House for the February half term week. Jackie, the owner, was extremely helpful both before and after our stay and provided lots of really useful information to help us make the most of our holiday. The house itself is extremely well-appointed and the photos do genuinely reflect what you find. The log burner was great after a day out in the cold! Beddgelert itself is a great base for a holiday in this part of the country - picturesque with good pubs (especially the Tanronnen Inn). There are great local walks suitable for older children - e.g. to the remote Llyn Llywelyn or up Cwm Bychan past old copper mine workings. We also enjoyed some good trips out to Caernarfon, Anglesey and even 'Bounce Below'! We would heartily recommend this property and will be returning.

A perfect stay in beatiful surroundings.
It is not that often that a holiday cottage is exactly as it is described or better but this was very much the case here. The cottage is spacious and clean with excellent facilities. The location is perfect for Snowdonia and there are some wonderful local walks. The owners recommended the Aberglaslyn Gorge walk which we also highly recommend. Beddgelert is delightful picturesque quiet village but it is not short on places to eat and drink. There is good range of restaurants whether the children just fancied a pizza at Glaslyn or we wanted to treat ourselves to something more relaxing at the River Garden. I would also recommend the Saracens Head after a good walk. In fact we did not have time to get around them all. If you are on holiday with your kids there is the award winning Glaslyn ice cream shop. The owner informed me there are 39 different flavours and despite a concerted effort from the kids we did well to try 21 in the week. Nothing like an awarding winning sorbet having climbed Snowdon. The owners provided us with plenty of accurate and helpful information to ensure the process and stay was hassle free and we would happily recommend it to friends and family although only after we have made our booking for next year as I am sure it will get booked up.

Beautiful house in stunning location
We would recommend this property and village without hesitation. The house is beautiful, exactly as it looks in the photos; spotlessly clean, modern, tastefully decorated and has all the essentials as well as many extras not normally provided with a holiday rental. Hafodty is situated close to the lovely village of Beddgelert with walks accessible straight from the house and the Welsh Highland Railway just a minute's walk from the garden, where you can take a step back in time for a relaxing steam train ride to Caernarvon or Porthmadog. Beddgelert is a beautiful village with several good choices of eating places, together with a well stocked village store and a handful of craft/antique/gallery shops. Our favourites to eat were the Tanronnen Inn and the Prince Llewellyn, and the cafe also had great food. Hafodty and Beddgelert are ideally situated for Snowdon itself (we were lazy and took the train), the coastal towns of Caernarvon and Porthmadog, and my personal favourite, the rather wacky but beautiful Portmeirion gardens. Obviously there are walks galore and we took the stunning walk along the Aberglaslyn Pass and up into the mountains (not suitable for the less sure-footed). We were lucky to have a week of sun with not one spot of rain so everything was great but there is plenty to see and do even in less fine weather. The owner of the house offered superb, efficient and informative communication throughout and was a pleasure to deal with, also offering much useful information on the area, both in advance by email and left in the house. Together with the welcome coffee, biscuits, and milk in the fridge, we were made to feel very welcome and can honestly say we were very reluctant to leave; we hope to return one day.

beautiful clean home from home
we arrived to find milk and biscuits waiting for us. the house was immaculate with plenty of room for 5 of us. the property was just as it looked on the web site and very well ordered and kept. there was plenty of information regarding how to use the household equipment and also what was on offer in the village such as what to do and where to eat. there was also opportunity for guests to write their own recommendations for other guests. for train fans, the garden is situated thirty seconds from the Welsh Highland Railway and my husband and son both enjoyed taking their coffee and standing on the platform watching the trains! we were able to ride on the railway although it is quite expensive but for a treat and for the stunning views it is worth it. the booking procedure and subsequent e-mail information from the owner has been first class and nothing was too much trouble. we are hoping to stay at the house again next year and would recommend it to anyone.

Lovely Stay in Bedgelert
We loved our stay in this spacious property in Bedgelert. The property was well equipped, spotlessly clean and in a great location. Communication with the owners was excellent, with plenty of information on things to do and local amenities. Would go back this year again if available, but clearly others enjoyed their stay too in this property, judging by the demand!

Perfect week
We spent a really lovely week in this cottage - sunny, blue skies, mountain air, and adjourning to the little sun-kissed patio with an ice cream at the end of a long day's walking was just perfect. Very helpful neighbour on hand and a clean, well equipped cottage made for a really special holiday. Thank you.

Fabulous!
Booked this property for a weekend break with friends. Owner was very helpful and provided accurate information in advance. House was clean, spacious and tastefully furnished. Location good within the village of Beddgelert and a good base for exploring the local area. I have previously stayed in the owners other property in Conwy ( Castleview Cottage) which is also maintained to a very high standard. I would recommend to family and friends and would love to return in the summer months to take advantage of the gorgeous surroundings.

Lovely house, fantastic location!
Beddgelert House is perfect - I can't fault it - it is exactly as described and really is as lovely as it looks in the photos. Everything you need is in the house and it has a lovely outlook over the National Park at the back. In the evenings you can sit on the sofa and just gaze at the hills looking forward to tomorrow's adventures! The owner is exceptionally amenable and answered all my queries and was very helpful. The village of Beddgelert is very picturesque, you can walk out of the front door into the village in 5 minutes, yet the house is tucked away up a lane and is very quiet. You can do some gorgeous walks straight from the front door, around Beddgelert, Llyn Dinas, Cwm Bychan and the Aberglaslyn pass and of course Moel Hebog from the back door! I stayed at the house with 3 friends and we all had a great time, we will definitely be back, very, very soon.

Brilliant Week in Beddgelert
We stayed in Hafodty the second week of Easter and had a great time. The location of the property is excellent for exploring Snowdonia with Beddgelert Station (narrow gauge steam) a 30 second walk from the patio doors and the Sherpa bus stop 1 minute down the hill into the village next to the well stocked and helpful tourist office. Beddgelert has lots to offer and plenty of options for eating out. We liked the 'family friendly' Saracen's Head but did only eat out twice as we had gone prepared for self-catering and the well-equipped kitchen made this easy. No dishwasher was a bit of a pain when you are used to one, but having plenty of everything made up for it. Our week was mixed weather, but a bit wet and cold, so it was great to be able to come back to a warm, comfortable house and on a couple of nights we used the wood burning stove to make it really cosy. You can do a morning's walk up through the Aberglaslyn Pass and then back over the hills from the door, the last part offering a great view over Beddgelert. You can also walk to the Sygun Copper Mine. We were on a mission to walk up Snowdon with our teenage children which we did twice, once up the Pyg track (need to start early to secure parking which costs £10 by the way), returning down the Miner's track and the second time up the Watkin Path, which was somewhat challenging at the end with a poorly defined loose scree scramble (check out the internet before trying this one although you could just walk up to the waterfalls). The owner provided us with excellent instructions on how to get to the property and was very helpful when we had a problem with the heating one day. Finally, it is worth taking some time to look up at the sky on a clear night from the decked patio area and take in the view, especially if you live in a big town like us, as Beddgelert has some of the darkest skies in Britain and the stars are spectacular. Would definitely recommend this property and location.

Loved It!!!
We have just spent an amazing 2 weeks in Beddgelert. My husband and I took our 2 children (age 5 and 8). We all had a terrific time and were desperately sad to leave. The house is lovely, minimalistic and clean. A home from home I wanted for nothing. I did not even miss the dishwasher! Beddgelert is beautiful and has such an great source of pubs, etc that there is something for everyone. We are missing are evening walks to the bridge to wave at the stream train while eating our new flavoured ice cream (Baileys highly recommended!) It is also very central with Criccieth beach a 30 mins drive away. A great base for exploring North Wales! Book without a worry!

Great stay in Beddgelert
This bungalow is in a lovely position with easy access to great walks in the surrounding area. The village is a short stroll away with a good selection of pubs and restaurants, village shop (which stocks a surprising variety of goods) and a Post Office. Also - the best icecreams we've had in ages at the icecream parlour! The house was clean, modern and well equipped. We had a problem with keys, but this was quickly resolved - the owner is contactable by phone and very helpful. We stayed there with 3 older children (aged 11,14 and 16) and found plenty to do in the week we were there - lots of walking as well as local museums and a trip to Caernarfon on the steam train. I would certainly recommend staying here.

Great Property for Exploring North Wales
We had a very pleasant stay in Beddgelert. The property is part of a small housing development on the outskirts of the village. There were lovely views from the living and dining area. It was well equipped and furnished. Jackie was very easy to deal with and we would recommend the property for those wishing to use Beddgelert as a base to explore the lovely walks in North Wales.

Our home was empty and unloved for 3 year's until we were lucky enough to come across it and have a vision of how it could be. It was actually the awe inspiring sight of a steam train puffing into Beddgelert viewed from the garden which sold it there and then! Being so close to such beautiful natural surroundings really inspired us to make sustainable and eco-friendly choices when renovating the property. Most of the work was undertaken by ourselves whilst living in our 42 year old Westalia VW camper with our family of 2 kids and 1 dog.

Why they chose this property

Having camped in Beddgelert many times over the years we knew this was worthy of it's reputation as Snowdonia's most attractive village. Nestled in the middle of three mountain valleys beneath Snowdon, the village is sat in the middle of some of the best walking in the country.

One of the main advantages of Hafody (Welsh for Summer House) is it's quiet position away from the village center and the main road - parking can be very difficult in the peak of summer so having a driveway for 2 cars is most definitely a big advantage.

We worked hard on the renovation to ensure that the choices we made were good choices for the environment and in keeping with our spectacular natural surroundings, using natural and locally sourced products where possible. This included natural welsh slate, seagrass and oak flooring and recycled welsh slate roofing. We support #plasticfreesnowdonia and provide ecological cleaning products and home made soaps, re-fillable water bottles and generally do our very best to avoid any single use plastics in our home.

We provide locally sourced sustainable wood for our fabulous Scandanvian wood burner too.

What makes this property unique

Location, location, location!
Wildlife, stunning scenery, beautiful natural environmentl
Exhilarating walking, dramatic waterfalls, historic landscapes, hidden lakes, all on our doorstep.
