Great vacation with a few glitches!
First of all, our family had a wonderful vacation. The pontoon and beautiful weather is what really made the vacation. The house has so many wonderful things and improvements it is too bad that there were some things not quite in order. I spoke to and texted with John many times over the course of the week. Some things were taken care of, some things could not be fixed or cleaned, and some I did not mention to him until after we were gone. He was very apologetic, explained everything to me, and was going to fix the things I told him about. Unfortunately, we had to deal with them, especially with some things not being cleaned up to standards I would expect and the pool not working. There are many rules and instructions that come with the house. If you don't mind all this, then you will definitely have a great time. There are many "toys" for all age groups to enjoy at this house. The location on the lake and the property are really wonderful.

LOVED THIS PLACE!!
We just spent a fantastic week at John's Lake Home, with four generations - our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was WONDERFUL! Upon arrival, everything was clean and ready to go. The beach area was really good for the little ones and the beautiful pavilion was one of the most used areas of the property. Early morning sunrises were beautifully & peaceful, we ate lunches there, read, visited and totally enjoyed time together. We enjoyed the raft and swim area as well as the pontoon, kayaks, paddle boat and canoe. And of course the game room was not overlooked. We used the fire pit almost every evening. There is just so many things to do here, its hard to remember and mention all the fun things we did Our one rainy day provided ample time for a volleyball game in the pool - what a great time and so much fun for everyone. We used the pool most every day and it was no problem checking it each day to make sure the pump was running. It seems like some guests are concerned about all the rules and guidelines to follow, but when you read them, they are all just common sense and things we all would want done if the property was our own. John is very considerate and was always available, and answered our texts and question in a timely way. We are so pleased with the property and will be back. We have already paid our deposit for our week next year.Thank you John and Elizabeth for sharing your lovely lake house with us.

Beautiful home and very spacious
We had a wonderful time with our kids and grandkids. The house was plenty big enough for all thirteen of us. The kids loved the bunk beds, toy area, and the beach and sand area. We enjoyed playing cards at the pavilion. We are looking forward to coming back again next summer. This house is highly recommended!

Fantastic!
John was very responsive to any questions we had. The choice of lake or pool was great and the kayaks, pedal boat and canoe, were a wonderful source of entertainment. The fish weren't biting but we found 2 turtles on shore! So much yet to discover. Down the road there was a place to buy American girl doll clothes that were handmade. You could feed the Buffalo at the buffalo farm but there's also horseback riding and a zip line. Great for a large family to relax and have fun together.

Fantastic way to bring our family together to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary.
We were looking for a way to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and bring our 4 children, their spouses and all our grandchildren together. They live in 4 states and as far away as Az. and Calif. We were a large group with the kids ages 6 years to 18 years and adults to age 74 years. The last time we were all together was 4 yrs. ago. I was so excited when I found this beautiful, well maintained home on the lake. The weather was great and though we used the indoor pool, most of time was spent in the lake. The pavilion and raft in the water were such great additions. We rented the pontoon and loved having the kayaks, canoe and paddle boat. The kids all interacted well with one another and also enjoyed the pool table, ping pong table, foosball, volleyball in and out of the water, and so much more. All of our evening meals were eaten outside, on the upper deck. The open concept in the house makes it easy to move around and not run into one another. Everyone kept so busy during the week that we never turned the TV on. We all had a lot of fun and tons of memories were made. I can't thank John and his family enough for offering this beautiful home for others to enjoy. What a pleasure working with John. From the very beginning, I found he was very prompt in returning calls or answering emails and answering all the questions. He laid everything out, in clear black and white. He also went out of his way and was attentive to all our needs. I would highly recommend this beautiful house on the lake.

A great home for a perfect family get away!!
There were 18 of us on this years family vacation with ages ranging from 6 months to 85 years old. I can honestly say everyone had a great time. The house was large enough we could all spread out and have our own space. The indoor pool was great for a rainy day or an evening activity for the kids. We spent many hours out on the large deck and the new building down by the lake was great for getting out of the sun and still being right there to watch the kids play in the water. We rented the pontoon and that made the vacation even more fun as we spent mid mornings riding around fishing and looking at all the houses on the lake. The paddle boat and canoes were what all the kids loved playing on. Canoe races and paddling around our cove always brought smiles to all. John was awesome to work with, if you had a question he was always very prompt to get back with you. This home was also nice for my 85 year old parents. The walk down to the lake was very gradual and they could do it with ease. All in all we could not have asked for a better rental. Thank you John for your hospitality and we will definitely try to get back.

Absolutely the best vacation resort for large families!
Just wanted you to know our family had a great time at your place on Lake Diane. We didn't use the rec. room as much as I would have thought we would, but that was largely because the weather we had was just beautiful. Can't say enough about the huge deck and tables and chairs on it. The pool was great. The spacious living rooms. It all accommodated us so well. The new pavilion you put up on the shore of the lake was great. Those who wanted to hide from the sun found shelter in the shade of it, while just a few feet outside the pavilion the tanners were soaking up the sun, all the while both groups were close enough to engage in conversation with each other while watching and taking part in the water activities. What a great time. We really appreciate the opportunity your beautiful rental gave us to be in one location as a family. Nothing compares to a place like this for comfort and convenience.

We had a great vacation - highly recommended
My mother rented this home for a family vacation. We liked that it had an open floor plan and plenty of room for all of us to visit together. The kids loved the indoor pool and fishing off the dock. We rented the pontoon boat and it was great. I highly recommend this rental. We were going to rent again this year, but I see it's booked solid.

Great Family Vacation
We recently rented this lake home for our annual family vacation. My wife and I, along with our children and grandchildren had a wonderful time. The home is very nice, well maintained, and has an open floor plan that allowed out family to enjoy time together for meals and during the lounging hours. The lake was nice and warm. The depth of the lake was a draw for us, it maintained a steady 4 foot depth for quite a distance, this allowed for a comfortable swim area for our youngest ones. The older kids loved kayaking and paddle boating. The yard was set up with a volley ball net that allowed for more family play when taking a break from the lake. Our family really loved the indoor pool. We put the pool to good use the two days it rained during our vacation. The pool was also nice for getting in that last night time swim before finally making the little ones go to bed. The owner communicated promptly and wanted to ensure that we had a great stay. We truly had a great family vacation, and really loved this home.

Fantastic location for a family vacation!
My family and siblings and their families (16 of us) have rented a lake home from VRBO each summer for the last 6 or so years. This was by far the nicest home! Clean, kept up, updated, spacious. There was plenty of room for all of us! We enjoyed the large living room and dining room. There is ample space both inside and out to eat. The older kids enjoyed the pool and the younger kids loved the beach and shallow lake to play in. We had a great time in the water, kayaking, paddle boating, and fishing. The only complaint is that we didn't catch much fish. I accidentally left an item at the home and the owner notified me and was willing to mail it to me. The owner is very responsive and kind. Great vacation!!

Wonderful lake house! Much to do for our whole family with plenty of room!
Our whole family had a great time at this wonderful lake house. Everything was updated and in great condition just as advertised. There was plenty of room for our group of 18 in the whole house, especially the dining/living room. Lake Diane was wonderful and the fishing was great. My son caught a 28 inch Walleye right of the pier and my grandson caught a 16 inch large mouth bass under the pier (Priceless!). We took many pontoon boat rides throughout the week that we absolutely loved. The indoor pool was a big hit as well. We spent many hours in the attached garage, playing pool, ping pong and foosball. Several volleyball games were held in the backyard as well. We used the grill for a couple of meals and had several fires in the large fire pit. We could've stayed there two weeks and had a blast. Great House, Great Fun! Thank you John for all the Great Memories!!

Wonderful place for a large family to be together and enjoy the great outdoors.
A wonderful time was had by all 18 of us. Everyone had fun filled activities to enjoy like water skiing, tubing., swimming, canoeing , Kayaks and paddle boating plus a large platoon boat to enjoy sightseeing and fishing together. . Lake Diane is very beautiful and fishing was good we caught enough fish for all 18 of us to have a Friday fish dinner the kitchen was large enough for all of us 18 to dine together. The master bedroom was very beautiful and the other rooms were fine. Living room was large enough for everyone to talk and visit all at the same time. I can not say enough about the swimming pool our children were swimming in the pool several times a day and they enjoyed every minute of it. This Lake Diane vacation home would make a lovely family place for vacations and just getting together with friends and family.

Outstanding!
Having rented through VRBO for many years now, I am accustomed to a certain level of home in my travels. This home has far exceeded any other rental experience I have had up until this point. My brother and I drove out to meet John (the owner) in July, a couple of months before a family gathering for my mothers 80th Birthday in order to see the property and find out if it would meet our needs. The amount of time and energy this owner and his family have put into the home is easily seen in all of the big and small considerations for their guests. The kitchen is STOCKED with everything you could ever need as well as a wonderful open layout to create meals with company enjoying a movie near by. The view is ever changing with the time of day and sunrise was certainly my favorite. We rented a pontoon boat which was perfect for Lake Diane. The weather for us was heaven sent as we enjoyed Labor Day week with temperatures in the 80s. The amount of space made it easy for all of us to spread out and we certainly took advantage of the game room, fire pit, and water craft. Because of the weather, we didn't use the pool much, but we were certainly happy to have a back up plan for the vacation. The family memories we created....priceless! I would recommend this property without reservation.

Great Family getaway
There was no way that the rainy weather stood in our way of having fun and having a great week at the Lake house! The pictures do not do the home justice, as it was a beautiful and well kept luxury home. the spacious and open floor plan allowed the kids to play together or independently, while keeping an eye on all of them. The pool was perfect and the kids (and the grown ups) couldn't get enough of it!!!! The picturesque view of the sunrise on the lake from the kitchen window was breath-taking and a great way to start the morning. So many local things to do and check out. . .we went to the nearby outlet stores, nearby breweries, purchased goods from local Amish farm, and made a daily trip into town for simply the best ice cream/milk shakes at DJ's Tempting Treats and BBQ. The home came equiped with various activities like the pool table, foosball table, and all the board games so no one was ever board. The weather did break enough to use the canoe and the paddle boat, provided by the home rental, a couple times which the kids enjoyed! One of the most unique experiences is that the owner, John, greetest us at our arrival to show us the home and where everything was located (not something you usually see but increadibly helpful and welcoming)! So relaxing, simply a great getaway!

Lovely Lake House
Our family of 12 (ages 5-77) spent Aug. 8-15, 2015, in this beautiful house. It is exactly as pictured and the pool is amazing. The grandchildren liked it so much, they never swam in the lake. We bought an inflatable boat which they did enjoy on Lake Diane and we rented a pontoon boat one day at Clear Lake Marina and they went tubing. The weather was perfect. We sat around the fire pit at night enjoying s’mores and telling stories. The house is so large everyone could find their own space for reading, working a large puzzle, napping, etc. One day some of us drove to the Shipshewana Flea Market which is one hour and 15 minutes away. We enjoyed being around the Amish and purchased vegetables and jam from the Amish farm just around the corner from the house. The South Shore Café has very good food and we ate there twice. The ice cream is great! When we arrived, John met us at the house and showed us around. He is very friendly and hospitable. One granddaughter left a small teddy bear which John found and mailed back to us. All the details for the stay were worked out easily with him. We highly recommend this lovely house as a vacation destination.

A Great Place to Relax and Enjoy
This was our first experience of renting a lake house. The house was lovely, very well maintained. We traveled with 3 adult couples, and 8 teenage kids (16-18). It all worked out great, the kids were on the lake with the jet skis, tubing most of the day and they spend their nights in the basement game room. 7 days and no one was board, or looking for TV or PlayStation. The adults were able to enjoy quiet beautiful afternoons and evenings on the deck. The lake is big enough that you can boat, tube, jetski, but not crowded. The house has extra refrigerators and a second stove/oven. We had lovely weather so we cooked out on the grill every night. A great place to bring your family and friends. We plan to come again.

much more than expected
What a beautiful house! There was so much room for all of us!!! All amenities were much more than we expected. Watched the beautiful sunrise while drinking coffee/tea on the deck and from the dining room. Watching the children have fun from the deck was great. Wonderful to have extra refrigerators and an extra kitchen. The pool was so clean and well maintained, no chlorine smell. I bought cheese and baked goods from the Amish farmer on Saturday morning and honey from the bee farmer down the street. The children (ages 8-15) did not run out of things to do, boating, swimming, soccer, ping pong, the indoor pool, biking, even streaming movies in the evening(or the DVD player). Relaxing and fun. It was great to get away from the hustle and bustle, We will come back again and again, maybe longer next time. The owners really took care of all the details. I asked tons of questions and always got quick responses. Great customer service.

We have 4 wonderful children that enjoy water sports, including water skiing, jet-skiing, boating, fishing, beach volleyball, and of course, swimming.

Why they chose this property

For many years, our family has rented a lake house for a week in the summer every year; we have travelled and rented many homes all over the midwest including Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri and of course Michigan. In 2015, we were vacationing at the beautiful Lake Diane, and while cruising on our own boat we noticed that this gorgeous house was for sale; At the time, we were not looking to purchase a lake-house, we contacted the listing realtor "just to take a look" since we had a day to kill towards the end of our vacation.
From the minute we walked through the front door. OH MY GOD!!! we were all floored and in complete amazement of the entire property. We have stayed in many homes and in several states, but this property had everything we could ever dream of in a lake-house. Everyone in our family, and other families that were vacationing along with us that week, felt completely in love with the property and everything about it...just like EVERY ONE of our guests that have been completely amazed since the first day we started to rent (as noted in the reviews and in our guest journal). Lake Diane is beautiful as well. It's a large lake, but not just a boring big round bowl; it has many bays, and channels with many beautiful homes. There's also a very convenient lakeside store, restaurant (with great food) and fueling station for vehicles AND boats. This is very convenient and a great plus for us and all of our guests. Just Google: Lake Diane Restaurant and read all their great reviews.
