Beautiful home and peaceful location

Rest and Recoup

We loved everything about Pelican Brief. The moment we opened the door and saw the canal view we knew we were going to be having 4 days of pure relaxation. Waiting for us on the kitchen bench was the most scrumptious loaf of fresh bread, butter and blueberry jam. This served us for all the days we weee there. The place is clean, a HD giant TV, lovely hot showers and a few quirky swans waiting for food at the bottom of the stairs on the canal. The pick up of the key was super easy and Paynesville is beautiful. We would recommend eating out at Sardine. We had the degustation menu and cannot fault this place one bit. It was AMAZING and is a one hat restaurant. Thankyou for letting my mum and I stay in your beautiful house. We would love to come and stay here again! Anita and Brigitte

Great location

Communication was great from the beginning. We had to adjust the guests and this was no problem. Check in was above and beyond as we were running late for check in but family was already in Paynesville and was able to collect the keys earlier than anticipated. Only issue for us was the off street parking as we had 4 cars in total and no access to garage but we made do. Loved the layout and the view of the channel in the mornings and evenings. Mozzies are an issue when there is a large body of water so remember your bug-off. Would suggest having a DVD player for those that don't have streaming services, we used our laptop to play a DVD for the kids. Few minor issues but we flagged this on departure as they weren't a major issue during our 4 night stay. Will definitely consider this property for our next stay in Paynesville.

Absolutely beautiful and comfortable

Our family was pleasantly surprised to have such an amazing backyard on the water… it was cool inside and we loved our stay!! The bathrooms are a little old but with the rest of the property being so spectacular it didn’t bother us at all. A must stay if your looking at this little Gem!

Perfect location on canal

The house was everything that we both needed for our week stay. Boat launched a minute away by car and docked at our private jetty ready to explore at any time. The decking and full sliding doors from lounge made the inside out experience just perfect. Loved the stay in this lovely jouse

Tranquil, stunning getaway!

Walking through the front door and down the hallway to that magnificent view was gush-worthy! We were not only taken with the peacefulness but the cleanliness and welcoming decor of the property. It was the little touches that sealed the deal for us - milk in the fridge and a freshly baked loaf of bread with local jam! We then stepped outside on the back deck to take in the stunning court of boats, birdlife and shimmering water. The sunset the first night was unbelievable. We were pleasantly surprised with the items available at our fingertips for our comfort - aeroguard, mossie coils, glad wrap etc. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

A lovely peaceful setting

This property was spotlessly clean and a lovely quiet location right on the water. A quick 10 minute walk to the centre ofPaynesville. The house had everything we needed. A great relaxing week.

Everything close to unit Lovely bedding with plenty of pillows to chose from I appreciated the folder with emergency no s and take away menu s Little touches like full box of tissues, toilet paper, mosquito candle , coffee pods, local coffee pouch and biscuits were much appreciated Probably the thin towels and bent coat hangers were not up to scratch but I can certainly live with that. I’m use to having the shampoo, conditioner and body wash in a dispenser in the shower . I never bring soap so the little round bar of soap was hilarious for 6 days. Beautiful outlook on the canal listening to the birds. Excellent

Reviewer Comments: I think this is our 5th stay here and we keep coming back. it is a perfect location for us who mostly walk everywhere, so easy access to town. The property has a lovely view, being on the canal. As much as we love this property, we immediately noticed that the standard of cleaning had deteriorated. the mop hadnt been out of the cupboard in a long time, the floors (bathroom & kitchen) are in dire need of a clean. I found a scrubbing brush & went to work on the kitchen bench & sink. There is usually some cleaning products in the laundry, none to be found this time, though there was a spray & wipe type of spray in the kitchen. The vacuum filter needs replacing, the vacuum was clogged with hair and really isnt fit for purpose. In summary, great property & location, lift the standard of cleaning, and there is no doubt we will be back. thank you

We loved Pelican Brief due to its fantastic location and of course its canal frontage and private jetty for our boat. It is close to town, boat ramp and direct access to the lakes. House was comfortable with good amenities, wifi and TV, great deck and outlook. One thing to note is that this house is attached to another but privacy was not an issue . FYI We left our trailer locked at the king st boat ramp as there was not quite enough room in the front yard at the house and it was not a problem. Gippsland Lakes Escapes was excellent to deal with, professional and answered all questions I had promptly. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Great property in good location

We arrived after agent had closed but key easily available in safe. Property was spacious with everything you could need. We wouldn’t hesitate in re-booking.
