Trains are a factor of life in all Canadian mountain towns. From the very beginning Canmore was built around the train line, including 90% of the local hotels and condos in town, which means that this property is along a train line, however, it is very well insulated against sound. Bedrooms are on the opposite side of the condo from the train line and the train should not disturb even the lightest of sleepers. Watching the trains go past is actually quite fascinating and not just for the train buffs! Please read our guest reviews for previous insight.

Greatly managed nice property

We had a small Christmas family reunion at Canmore. The property is clean, well-stocked, and centrally located. We have had a few small issues during our stay, but management was prompt to resolve it. Thanks!

3 night family getaway

I’ll start with the negatives. The advertising for the property lists it as a 5 bedroom, when there are actually 4 bedrooms. I did point this out to the property management team. But no changes have been made so far. It also states that the condo is 1.5km from the nearest ski lift. That is simply not the case. You have to climb a flight of 20 stairs to access the main floor. That makes it a bit challenging to unpack. And we had a 92 year old with us. The condo is located 50 metres away from the train tracks. There were at least a dozen trains a day. You could hear and feel each one. All 4 bedrooms were at the front of the condo, and the train tracks were at the back. I was never awoken because of the trains.Now, the positives. The "adjoining double condo" concept was fantastic. We had more than enough of room for the 11 of us. 2 full kitchens, living rooms and dining rooms were perfect. We never ate out. We cooked all our meals at the condo, and we all sat very comfortably around the dinning room table. Everyone enjoyed their bedrooms. We had plenty of space for everyone to sit and do their own thing if, and when they wished. A very short walk to grocery, and liquor stores. As well as the Royal Bank.The condos are located above a strip mall, but that really didn't matter. Except for the passing trains, we enjoyed very quiet nights. I would recommend Summit house, regardless of the negatives. It is great for a large group. You will never feel "closed in".

Renovations were occurring outside with alot of noise. Was behind train tracks, trains ran all night. Windows and blinds were really outdated. Renovated the cabinetry and flooring but everything else was old and outdated. Patio was dirty and bbq was not cleaned and barley worked. Small beds were not comfortable. Tub didn't drain properly. Corner of the house had dust and was not cleaned properly.

Great space for our large group with comfortable beds and lots of space for kids and adults to spread out. Well stocked kitchens have everything we needed to cook and eat-in. Location is central and convenient. Train goes by the rear of the property but was really not noticeable. The staff of the management company was super helpful and communicated quickly. Great experience all around.

We booked accommodation for 8 adults and 3 small children, and the rental more than met our needs. Great Location, Great views, the train was no bother and actually for the 2 year old may have been the best part! The office staff were great and helped with a few items we needed.
