Bayou St John, in Mid-City, was named the 7th Best Neighborhoods in the World by TimeOut Magazine, 2023.

The Red Bayou House is fully renovated to have an inviting, light-filled, and functional layout, while maintaining the New Orleans' character and charm. Luxury hotel-like amenities, fully stocked kitchen, large dining table, wonderful workspace, comfortable designer queen beds, independent and private bedrooms and bathrooms (not shotgun style), and a wonderful private deck.

The house opens up to a large, spacious living, entertaining and dining space. Ten foot ceilings throughout the house creates an open and spacious setting. The living room has two deep and comfortable West Elm couches, perfect for lounging around. The smart tv has basic cable, HBO, Samsung Plus TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.

Many guests have cooked Thanksgiving means in this fully stocked kitchen. French press, cuisinart coffee maker, coffee pod maker (coffee pods provided), barware, microwave, dishwasher, gas stove and oven, pots and pans, and cooking tools.

The guest bedroom has a queen size bed, luxurious and comfortable mattress, and a large closet. The guest bathroom is located across the hallway. There is a smart tv with Samsung Plus TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.

In between the guest and master bedroom is a wonderful workspace for those looking to get some work done while in town. Flanked by two bookshelves, the workspace has a black granite countertop and a very comfortable Herman Miller chair. Next to the workspace is a perfect, cozy reading room/yoga/meditation/napping room, with a custom twin size bed. This room is perfect for kids or babies, with a pack & play and a ComfyBumpy for their safety. This is my favorite little nook in the house.

The master bedroom located at the back of the house is quiet and peaceful. It has a queen size bed, with luxurious and comfortable mattress, and opens to the back deck through French doors. The master has a smart tv with basic cable, HBO, Samsung Plus TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. The bedroom gets a lot of light due to the horizontal windows above the French doors, perfect for morning people. The large walk in closet leads into the bathroom, with a wonderful glass enclosed shower.

Guests can relax/enjoy the private and spacious deck with cushioned lounge chairs, dining for six with cushioned seats, or lounge out on the sofa. Grill on the gas grill (propane tanks provided) and enjoy the outdoor space.

Please take care of my home as if it were your own. Please respect the neighbors and keep noise levels to a minimum during late night hours. No smoking inside the house. Smoking is allowed on the front porch and back deck (ashtrays provided). Pets will be considered with additional cleaning fee.

SUMMER DISCLAIMER: Hurricane season and the summers in New Orleans can be very hot and humid. Like most homes in this city, the AC system will have a hard time keeping the house cool at 65 degrees all day. Cancellations will only be allowed for named Tropical Storms/Hurricanes. Please be mindful of this when deciding to book for the summer here in our lovely city.

Big Easy Getaway

The home is decorated beautifully and has everything youll need. Very close to town in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Went on a fun swamp tour and Amelie and Cohon a must for food. Celebrated my hubbys birthday at Brennans, home of the bananas foster. Overall great trip.

A beautiful gem in a quiet neighbor hood - Mid City

A gorgeously appointed home complete with wall art, house plants, comfy sofas, lots of towels, fully stocked kitchen complete with salt&pepper, olive oil, etc. This little gem is in a very walkable area. 15 walk to Neyows Creole Cafe which was wonderful. 12 min ride to French Quarter. There is a great sunny patio in the back with a grill, several coffee tables as well as a dinner table for 6 outside. Our gracious super host was an excellent communicator. We were very pleased.

Home away from Home…

The Red Bayou House was the perfect spot for a long weekend… Had anything and everything you’d find in your own house as far as amenities are concerned.. Ninh has set the standard for future rentals.. Couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable place to start and end our days in New Orleans.. Very quiet street in a cool neighborhood.. Just book it…

Can't Say Enough Good Things about This House and Owner

We use VRBO frequently, and this house is probably the best one we have rented. The pictures don't do the house justice. It feels much bigger in person and my teenage son chose the "small nook" as his room over the traditional bedroom because he thought it was cool and cozy. We especially loved the patio that was like having another living room as it was so spacious and clean. We were impressed with how quiet the house was and the thick black out curtains and comfy beds made for great sleeping. Parking was super easy and check in was equally as easy. The house is so well appointed. Besides the super fun and beautiful decor, the host stocks anything you would need. We had more towels than we could ever use, tons of luxurious blankets, any kind of cleaning product you could ever want, and all the pots and pans you need to make a meal. We also loved the thoughtful suggestions on places to eat that the host leaves for you. Don't miss Parkway Bakery that is in walking distance. It was packed so we ordered food and drinks and brought them back to the patio for a great afternoon. Last but not least, the owner was very communicative and answered any question we had super quickly.

Book this beautiful home!!

We have rented many vrbo properties but this far exceeded any of the others. The online pictures don't do justice to this beautifully decorated home. Ninh had everything there that guests would need. He left us a lovely welcome gift of wine, had a book with local recommendations that were spot on, was responsive and communicated with us throughout our stay. The house was incredibly clean and we could walk to many restaurants and city park. Street parking in front of the house was always available and the security system in the house made us feel very secure. We would (and will) recommend this property to anyone asking for a place to rent in NOLA!! Thanks Ninh for sharing your gorgeous home with us.

Perfect Spot

We stayed at this property for the second time while visiting our children who live in the same area. The house is immaculate and beautifully appointed. The host is terrific and responsive. The house is in a great location for walking to neighborhood spots including Bayou St. John. Highly recommend this rare find!!

Most AMAZING VRBO stay ever!

First, my correspondence with the property owner, Ninh, went above and beyond my expectations, even before we stayed at the property, and throughout our stay! And then when we arrived at the property, you just completely fell in love with the house! Ninh’s house is beyond stunning, it’s impeccable! Ninh has thought of every last detail for your experience in New Orleans to be a magical one! The house has everything that you could ever possibly need and not only has a fully stocked Kitchen, he has thought of every single detail in all the bedrooms and bathrooms so you have everything you need from the comforts of your own home. And the great bonus was the backyard deck! We more than enjoyed the back yard and when we were not out touring, we spent all our time at the house in the backyard! If I could give this house a 10 + rating instead of a 5 star, I would! We didn’t want to leave, and even stayed an extra night! Thank you Ninh for your more than generous hospitality, and for truly spoiling us! We will definitely be back!

Amazing!

Ninh’s home was perfect. Our first night we never made it out because we enjoyed the vibes at the house so much. On top of having everything one could need and being impeccably thoughtful and aesthetically appealing, Ninh was an amazing communicator from the moment I booked until the end. I hope the house is available next time we have the chance to visit New Orleans—the bar has been set too high to settle for less.

Great stay in NOLA

Ninh was a great host and the house was perfect. About 10-15mins drive from everything and safe hood. Some amazing food is right around the area with BBQ, and Willie Maes which could be the best fried chicken in the US.

Awesome New Orleans VRBO

Truly made me feel like I was in a boutique residence. Roomy, super clean and the interior design is that of a high price interior decorator. Every comfort you want. The host has thought of absolutely everything. Walking distance to a local grocery. A great coffee house. The Bean Gallery, is a short drive and great coffee and breakfast sandwiches and pastries. This is not your ordinary VRBO. It is off the charts. If you want to have a great experience with no surprises., book this before it is taken by someone else.

Best host in best house EVER!

This was an adult girls trip and by far the best rental we have ever been in. Ninh was incredible. I use VRBO a couple times a year and my parents rent their condo on here so I’m pretty picky and have high expectations. From check in to check out he was quick to respond and very accommodating. We didn’t do any cooking really but the house was perfectly stocked. The isn’t your average rental. Aside from being decorated beautifully, it was just so comfortable. From the couches to the beds. Even the shampoo and conditioner! Street parking with a large vehicle in the rain proved to be problematic sometimes but he had umbrellas stocked. This is the cutest house on the block IMO and I can’t wait to return. This house was so amazing and interesting it made me want to be friends with the owner in real life. Thank you, Ninh!

Stunning home in New Orleans

As someone who rents homes and villas all over the globe, I have to say this was the most thoughtfully decorated home I have ever stayed in. Not a single detail was missed. Photos don’t do it justice. We had a lovely stay, enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor spaces, and Bourbon Street and other NOLA destinations were just a 10 minute drive away. Our host answered any and all questions promptly and was so thorough in his communications. I hope to return next year. Just say yes. You won’t regret it.

Ninh”s house was exactly as described. It was within walking of many restaurants and City Park. Ninh responded promptly whenever we contacted him. The home was spotless and very comfortable- from the sofas to the beds. Highly recommend!

Truly Authentic Nola Living

We travel pretty frequently between New Orleans and Detroit, and very often can stay with friends. However, as our family has grown we have started to look for rentals for our longer stays... We were truly blown away by our stay @RedBayouHouse. There is not one thing that hasn't been thought of for you as a guest of this beautiful home. The home is so well cared for and just immaculate in terms of cleanliness and décor. But it isn't so fancy that our family felt like we couldn't touch anything! We had ages 5 to 94 in our group, and none of us wanted our stay to end. The bedding, bathrooms and even kitchen all reminded us of five star or above hotels/rentals we have stayed in. We also felt incredibly safe with the alarm, key code entry and super friendly neighbors who were also very welcoming. My father-in-law spent hours rocking on the front porch on the two adorable rocking chairs. If you are looking to have a true New Orleans experience, and skip the downtown hustle and bustle, this is hands down one of the best homes in New Orleans.

Amazing VRBO

The VRBO pictures don’t do it justice. It’s the best VRBO we have ever experienced. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and very accommodating for our medium size family. Owner replied super quick. 10 min Uber ride to French quarter. Neighborhood was safe. On street parking. I can’t express how amazing overall this property was. If I could give 100 stars….I would!

Fast summer trip

Red Bayou is a great place!!!

We arrived on a Saturday but Ninh was in touch with us periodically before check in. He’s a great communicator. Check in was seamless. The place is beautiful and Ninh thought of everything. Recommends places to go, eat etc… and we took him up on several suggestions that did not disappoint. He treated us to a bottle of wine that was very thoughtful. Location is great. Nice and quiet. We would definitely recommend to family and friends. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Thank you Ninh!!!

Fantastic Stay!!!

Such a great place to stay. Perfect for two couples. Fun, eclectic decorating plus everything you could possibly need is provided - shampoo, conditioner, plenty of towels, TP, dish soap, etc. Ninh had plenty of Keurig coffee for the morning and even had complimentary wine for our kids who flew in from Australia! The back patio was so incredibly cute. Communication was very easy. Ninh got back to me quickly with any questions I had. Everything was top notch. Would definitely recommend!
