I very much enjoyed my stay. The cottage is cute and cozy. It is conveniently located. Communication with Susan was great. I will definitely stay there again.
The cottage was perfect for my daughter and I during our three days visiting my mother. Morning coffee and evening wine on the deck were nice ways to start and end our days.
My mom and I were in town to visit family & this was the perfect resting spot for us. The house perfectly fit two adults and had plenty of space to relax, cook, and kick back with Netflix.
Our host was incredibly warm and hospitable–communication was a breeze and arrival/departure instructions were simple and clear.
My mom and I plan on staying here every time we're in town!!
We stayed the month August in Shelton and found Susan's home to be very clean and comfortable. The home is stocked with anything you would need to cook a meal and relax. The home is newly remodeled and sits in a quiet location. We enjoyed seeing the deer outside our windows during our stay. The neighborhood felt safe as we took our daily walks. Susan was very helpful and was always available when we had a question. My wife enjoyed her visit with Susan while I was away for the day. We would highly recommend Susan's home if you need to stay in the Shelton area. You won't be disappointed.
Although we did not spend a lot of time in the cottage, it was very nice to come back to it each evening and relax with a snack and some TV time. The reason we were visiting Shelton was to see our newborn granddaughter so we spent most of our time with her. It is wintertime and was snowing off and on so we did not use the nice deck in the back of the cottage. It looks like it would be a great place to sit and relax in the summertime. There are trees all around the property and it is in a quiet little neighborhood at the end of a short road. The kitchen is well appointed with pretty much everything you might need to use to make a meal. The bathroom is comfortable and the shower (no tub) is large. The bedding was nice and kept us warm when we turned the heat down to low at bedtime. We would not hesitate to stay there again!
Charming cottage amidst a forest, yet mere minutes to town
Susan's Shelton cottage was so sweet and ideally situated. I traveled from California to help my aging parents and stayed here for a week with my high school daughter who is distance learning. We had an excellent stay. The location and amenities were perfect. The WiFi worked fairly seamlessly (only cutting out briefly a couple times) for my daughter's Zoom classes and online school platform. The kitchen was well equipped and the queen bed was very comfortable. The place was very clean and well kept. Susan was responsive, accommodating, and helpful -- anticipating our needs and even plowing out the driveway with a Kubota prior to our arrival, and just following a heavy snowstorm. Impressive and so appreciated! So many historic homes/buildings in this area. I learned that my great grandmother's house was only a few blocks away from Susan's. Magical stay. A hooting owl even bid us adieu upon checking out. Would definitely stay again on my next trip to visit family assuming it's just me (and up to one of my three children, given the size of the cottage). Thanks, Susan!
I have stayed at this property twice now and had a great experience both times. The owner is extremely helpful and communicative. The property is peaceful, clean, and very comfortable. I would definitely come back.
This cottage was pleasantly surprising on a couple of levels. First, although it's in an urban area, it's surrounded by woods on three sides...plenty of shade on a few unusually warm August days. Second, a garage is provided. Wow, that was unexpected.
Inside, everything was neat, clean and totally functional. The kitchen was well equipped and cabinet space was available for groceries. Linens and towels were plentiful. There were ample closets and dressers to store clothes.
The HDTV is set up with basic cable. The wireless internet connection worked flawlessly.
All of things above made my month-long stay physically pleasant and comfortable. On top of that, Susan, the owner, who lives next to the property, was welcoming and helpful.
All in all, I had a wonderful month in great place.
Thanks, Susan
Sweet little no-frills cottage in a lovely, wooded setting. The back deck with a glass of wine in the evenings was heaven! Already looking at dates for our next stay.
The host was easy to deal with and accommodating. The property was very clean, well appointed and accessible. Instructions were clearly written and posted in an obvious location. We would, without hesitation, return to this rental in Shelton.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Communication, location
Looks aren’t everything
Homeowner lives right next door and is nuts- she goes into this rental right when you leave- more than once, says it is not illegal because it’s a vrbo- okay it is illegal and hello morally wrong-she never even came over and introduced herself but as soon as I leave she comes in snooping around?
Place had huge green belt behind it ( on a dead end dirt street) where the homeless live and the people from the church clean it out every other day
I believe the back fence is electric? So they are well aware of this problem. Glad I looked before walking back there.
Looks are very deceiving with this property - I think a lot of people who stayed here just didn’t know.
This little cottage is in the perfect location for accessing many state parks and Olympic National Park. It is cozy and quiet and a short drive away from several grocery stores. The bathroom has a good sized shower and plenty of drawers for toiletries. We stayed for over a month and it was comfortable and had everything we needed.
We enjoyed our stay at this quaint and comfortable cottage. It was very clean and nicely decorated. The location is easy to find. The owner’s were excellent and thoughtful communicators. We would definitely stay here again
This was a cozy little house. The bed was comfortable with nice sheets and warm comforter. Everything in nice condition at the end of dead end street. Full kitchen with everything you could need. I would highly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay at the little cottage in the woods! The Brewers were kind enough to rent to us during my two month work assignment, and it turned out to be perfect. We had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. The cottage was immaculate....felt right at home as soon as we walked in the door. Thank you for making our stay so easy!
Susan’s cottage was prefect for my week long stay in Shelton. The cottage is located in a quite neighborhood that was perfect for unwinding after a long day. I would absolutely stay here again.
Vey clean and comfortable house. Well supplied with everything you need. Quiet, wooded location. Friendly and accommidating hosts. One of the nicest VRBO we have stayed at in WA.
A friend of ours lives nearby and this was perfect for us. The cottage is larger than it seems and was comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed our stay.
