Adding to the magic of this unique home is the vibrant canvas of colour throughout, beautiful lead light windows, and crafted French doors adding to the light and airy feel.
However it is stunning views towards Mount Donna Buang and Mount Victoria, the majestic tall timbers of yesteryear and the local flora and fauna that will work their magic and truly captivate.
Wake to birdsong each morning, with resident kookaburras, bower birds, an owl and visiting parrots and magpies to name a few. Bask in the morning sunlight as it streams in through the windows or drenches one of the two verandahs/ outdoor entertaining areas. Escape the summer heat on the second verandah which offers a cool breezy retreat and superb sunset views.
There are plenty of spaces for relaxing with a spacious lounge featuring an open fire place and French doors extending out onto a verandah, a roomy country-style kitchen and a second verandah with a long banquet- style table, perfect for sharing any sized feast, lazy brunch or leisurely tipple.
Filled with natural light , the three bedrooms are generous in size with easy access storage for your belongings.
Vintage board games, books and magazines together with skittles, balls and even tennis racquets for the local tennis courts will keep everyone of all ages entertained. There is a computer nook in the lounge area but you'll need to hotspot with your phone as there is no WIFI access .
A comfortable temperature ( in both hot and cold weather ) is easily maintained by a large split system. Additional portable heaters, a cooling unit and fan are provided to maintain temperature if the bedroom doors are closed off from the split system for privacy. The split system offers adequate heating so the wood supply provide for the open fire is for an ambience touch in the evenings.
Margate, named after the English village from where its first owners originated, is the perfect place to relax and/or explore the quaint township of Warburton and the picturesque Yarra Valley
So much to do .... Margate is the perfect Upper Yarra Holiday Home destination for couples, families, groups of friends and those seeking to wind down or gear up for all the outdoor pursuits and adventures to be had.

Additional things to note when staying at Margate:
- No noisy events/ parties. Margate is located in a quiet friendly residential area and we ask that you respect this. Outside verandahs are not for use after 10pm - Side verandah is 10pm and back verandah is 10.30pm
- No smoking in the house Smoking outside the house with use of provided ash trays
- The reverse cycle split system is to be operated on a maximum temperature of 23 degrees during winter months. Running at high temperatures does not make the unit work better during cold weather. In the event of the unit stopping working due to high temperatures being used, the repairs to the unit may fall back onto the guests.
- Some firewood is provided for your stay suitable for evening fires. If you required more firewood during your stay, you can purchase locally at the hardware store, or service stations.
- No pets - We have many birds frequenting our garden so it is not suitable to bring your pets
- All bedding and internal furniture to remain in the house and external furniture to remain on the property
