About this property

Wine Country Working Wool Sheep Farm Stay; Hay Barn Cottage 501c3

Namaste Farms is a beautiful and quiet (with the exception of animal/farm sounds) private working farm located in the heart of the wine country situated down a wide and maintained disintegrated granite/dirt rd. While the cottage is only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all within 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. If you want to have a "staycation" you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, can enjoy the sounds of serenity (which include animal vocalizations) while roasting marshmallows at our wine barrel fire pit (propane powered)!
We are dog friendly, but to keep our free range animals safe (and we have had them injured or killed by people not recognizing that dogs are predatory by nature), please keep your dog easily under control and on a short leash at all times. Also, because it's not possible to control your dog on a long line, dogs may NOT be tied or tethered anywhere on the property. In addition, for the sake of the antique furniture do not leave your dog alone in the cottage unless they are crate trained and in a crate. If you need to leave your NON-barking dog here, occasionally we have a bedded stall we put your four legged friend in. Also, If you want to let your dog off leash, about 2 blocks down the dirt road (off property), there is a large scrub field where you can let your dog run free. .
The "Hay Barn" cottage is a studio with high ceilings, a beautiful stained glass window and a rustically chic bathroom. This cottage can sleep 3; one queen bed with a twin pull out. Please let us know ahead of time if you need the pullout (we must move furniture out and bring the very comfortable bed in).
This price in the listing is for two guests, and each additional guest, after two, will be subject to a fee. If you have more people in your group and don't want to share, please check out the main cabin in a separate listing: homeaway 7347744
Please keep in mind that we are not a "pretend farm" set up to simply attract people to our facility. This is an actual working farm where shepherdess, Natalie Redding (Nat Geo Wild s, Shear Madness) and her working dogs, Lacey, Lad and Nesta work every day. This means there is dirt, dust, chickens, peacocks, alfalfa, sheep, bugs, and other living beings associated with nature and farm life. People who have not had the opportunity to experience the beautiful and grounding life on a working farm may not understand this. I do stress that if you re an animal lover who is excited about staying at a true working farm, your co-guests may not share your verve. While animal vocalizations may be music to your ears, others may not share your idea of "music." Please let them know about the animals sounds and that they will encounter dirt and dust with very little concrete or pavement. While I, personally, love the farm environment and am a frequent Louboutin wearer (even on the farm), they may not like having dust on their shoes.
We ask that when you re booking, you please put the accurate number of guests. Once again, this is because the price is for the first 2 guests with additional fees per person after two. If you have others who you'd like to be on the same property, but not in your cottage, please check out the main cottage at: homeaway 7347744

We loved it!
This place is truly magical and I'm so grateful a friend introduced us to it. S'mores, farm animals, and such unique and lovely accommodations. The owners are delightful and took care to let our girls experience being on a farm, feeding the animals, etc. And have fun exploring... And super cozy for adults. I hope to go back soon.

A fun experience, close to the wineries!
A great place, centrally located to Temecula Valley wineries. Not only is the location convenient, but the farm setting was both relaxing as well as entertaining. Natalie was very accommodating, and it was fascinating to experience the animals (including peacocks, sheep, lambs, dogs, horses, guinea fowl, and others) in a casual, private setting. I not only highly recommend this experience, but look forward to staying here again.

Special Place!
My daughter and I stayed at Namaste Farms for her birthday. Unfortunately, it was raining during most of our stay but we still loved it. When Natalie found out it was her birthday, she baked her a darling "sheep" birthday cake. What a sweetheart!!! If you are looking for a different kind of place to stay near Temecula, stay here!

Amazing Experience!
We loved staying at Namaste Farms!! We stayed two nights over Thanksgiving and it was such a wonderful experience. Centrally located to every winery in the area, we were able to enjoy our wine tasting trip at our own pace while still being able to stop back at the farm and take a break when needed :) The property is beautiful and the cottage was exquisitely decorated. Bring your camera because there are a lot of great spots to take pictures on the farm. Mornings were cold, but Natalie would turn on the fie pit every morning before we would wake up. There was a Starbucks about 5 minutes away, so we would enjoy our coffee by the fire every morning. We brought our dog Murphy with us and she loved being on the farm! Would definitely recommend (and already have to our friends)!

About the host

Hosted by Natalie Redding

Host profile image
My name is Natalie Redding (Nat Geo Wild's, Shear Madness) shepherdess with a B.S. and M.S. in Animal Science. I teach about flock and fiber all over the world. Dyeing wool, yarn and other protein fibers is my specialty and you'll often see colorful dyed products drying in the sun.

Why they chose this property

Namaste Farms is full of life with free ranging peacocks and birds roaming the property. During the spring, there are lambs and kids about. This property has a very rural feel but is only 1/2 mile from the city limits. It's less than 3 miles to the nearest winery and many of them are located on our rd; De Portola.

What makes this property unique

Farm life is something everyone should experience. You can feed the horses carrots, and the sheep corn. Feel free to throw chicken scratch to the birds, and to pet a lamb (if they'll let you)! During the spring, there are tons of lambs and often bottle babies you can feed. Baby goat yoga? This is Namaste Farms, and whenever down dog, or peacock pose strikes your fancy, you can lay down a mat and practice!
