About this property

Enjoy panoramic views, amazing sunsets, and stargazing. Situated on 5+ private acres of pristine desert landscape, the property feels "away from it all" yet accessible to all desert points of interest: 20 minutes to JT Natl Park, 15 minutes to both downtown Yucca Valley and downtown Joshua Tree, 10 minutes to the Integratron, 20 minutes to Pioneertown.

Havalina features 5.5 acres of desert land, a main house and a casita, which was the original homestead cabin on the property. The house and casita, which are both included in your rental, are joined by a large outdoor courtyard with a picnic table, gas grill, fire pit and bar stools to enjoy the sunset. The back of the house has a covered porch with rocking chairs, a hammock, and a huge shade tree that makes a magical sound when the wind blows.

The eclectic interior is tastefully decorated with handpicked flea-market finds, vintage & reclaimed wood furniture, and unique art pieces. Both bedrooms feature endless outdoor views and comfortable real beds (1 king, 1 full) as well as ample closet space. The living room has a large sofa, flat screen TV and DVD player. There is a full kitchen stocked with basics and a small breakfast nook. The casita has a very comfortable daybed, a record player and meditation pillows—a perfect place to just relax and/or accommodations for an additional guest.

Great place to be

Nice and cozy, close to Joshua Tree National Park. Hosts are easy to communicate with. Very relaxing place to be after hicking or just visiting around.

Such a lovely property off the beaten path

We loved this house so much! We felt such good vibes the moment we walked in (I mean c’mon, a light switch for a salt lamp? Love it!) the place is decorated with such cool prints and furniture, I assume were thrifted which also is a huge plus. The casita was a perfect extra room and we were even able to work from home without any troubles with WiFi. The roads are a little bumpy but the hosts made it clear which ways to go to avoid any trouble. If you stay here, wake up for the sunrise, you won’t regret it! And the snow covered mountains in the distance were gorgeous. Thanks so much for your hospitality and all your communication. Bookmarking this place for the future for sure!

Living the dream

We stayed here for four days in July and the property was absolutely perfect. Couldn’t ask for better host. The property was clean and organized and very welcoming. Has games and streaming stick ready to go also. The temperature was always comfortable the views are absolutely gorgeous. We slept 5 no problem. I visit here often and try to stay in different places every time. But this place is worth staying everytime.

Lovely Home

We so enjoyed our stay. The home had everything we could possibly need. Vanessa the owner was available to answer our questions and communication and recommendations was excellent. The property has fabulous views. The sunrise and sunsets were gorgeous. Great place to get away and rejuvenate. We highly recommend this property.

Peace and quiet

Very relaxing stay at Havalina! Especially loved having a sunset cocktail at the fence bar and enjoying the fire pit at night. The separate casita with comfy couch and the back covered porch with hammock provide spaces for quiet reading time.

Relaxing Escape From The City

This place was wonderful and relaxing. Spent the mornings outside talking with family and enjoying the birds come by. The courtyard was perfect for our dogs. They loved laying out and taking in the air as did we! The set up was great! Including the beds! They were soooo comfortable!! I was able to wake up rested! At night was the best! It felt so peaceful just being outside by the fire pit, and even when didn’t have the fire going on just looking at the stars brought that kid like feeling you had when you were young, and laid on the street to look at them. I can’t wait to come back next year....FYI the AC works great! And they did a great job of communicating with us. They checked in via email a few days after to make sure everything was okay. I thought that was thoughtful...thank you for your hospitality!

Lovely house near the national Park

We are 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The house has 2 nice and spacious bedrooms. The house was clean. it is very well decorated. We could listen to the silence. We had a very good time.

This home was so cozy and the Southwest decor was awesome and so unique. They had literally anything you could possibly need here, from spices to cook with to toiletries. Super quiet and peaceful at night because it's a quiet little neighborhood.

Awesome Stay at Havalina House

Terrific property and very clean! Directions in both GPS and owner were extremely helpful. FYI, there's a dirt road to get here but it is not terrible. Part of the Joshua Tree experience! I would recommend cooking when visiting Joshua Tree, all the restaurants had 3+ hour waits and were no longer taking names. But overall, the property was beyond our expectations! The owner has cute little things, like a surplus of DVD's and DVD player available!

Great stay - a bit hard to access

The owners were responsive and the property was in good condition. The only thing that we had not expected was the 'remote' nature of the location - it required a mile or two on dirt roads, which added some complexity in terms of getting to/from the unit. Overall it was a great stay .

Wonderful Desert Oasis

Vanessa and Scott's Yucca Valley home is a perfect spot to explore the High Desert and Joshua Tree Park. The home is very cozy, well decorated, and is set up for star gazing by the camp fire. It is definitely off the beaten path but that was the point!

We loved our stay at Scott and Vanessa's place. The location is secluded but not too far from town. It is clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The courtyard was perfect for our pup. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer! 10000% recommend!

We stayed at Havelina for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This charming, desert property located near Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree, was the perfect setting for a complete, calm get-away experience - clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Vanessa was immediate in responding to our questions and in assisting us. Artful touches add interest inside and out and the firepit seating is wonderful. Sunsets and sunrises are magical. We traveled with our dog, a golden retriever, and walked her daily. We loved the walled outdoor space. Caution, there are some vicious dogs in the neighbourhood, however, they are safely corralled behind fences. Hiking is our passion and we explored the National Park (although dogs are not allowed on the trails). We found a wonderful hike not far from Pioneertown where our dog could join us. Highly recommend it. If you are looking for an authentic, remote, desert experience, this property will not disappoint.
