The property has a lovely homely feel and stunning views of the ocean. The driveway is a little tricky on day 1, easy by day 3.

Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Somewhat disappointed
Basic accommodation, too much clutter, limited space in kitchen for storing our items, no toilet paper, second bed was in back entry area open to the toilet.
However, it was a beautiful position amongst the trees with ocean views.
We had a great stay. So many birds, the fire, close to the beach, shops and jetty. Loved exploring - so many bushwalks. Perfect getaway for a few days.
Decor on point - great taste!
Bed comfortable.
Peaceful spot.

This property was the perfect long weekend escape we needed! Clean, spacious and beautiful outdoor deck for reading and a BBQ! Wouldn’t change a thing.
Wow what a location, a beautiful little cottage in the treetops with amazing views of the ocean. The open fire is a major bonus for a stay in July and adds such an incredible feel to the place. Some lovely old world touches like the kitchen dresser and internal doors. Absolutely gorgeous. We loved it!
A lovely place to stay with lots of charm. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean and the (rented) linen worked well. The fireplace was especially appreciated on a cold, wet and windy night!
It is a bit hard to find in the dark, but Google takes you to the right location, so it's more of an adventure than a problem.
My friend and I, both in our mid-60s, were after a small place with a big view, not too far from Sydney, that we could fully relax in. This cottage was perfect. It felt like home as soon as we walked in, with comfortable, calm, attractive furnishings, a fireplace (which we'll be back to use, come whale-watching season) and a view we couldn't take our eyes off. We felt like trusted friends rather than complete strangers. There's bird life all around, good food and coffee a short walk away at Hardys Bay, and it's so quiet, except for the sound of the surf at Killcare Beach. We can't recommend this place highly enough.
Great place to relax and be in nature, walks and beaches close by.

Poor communication from property managers
The place has a lovely view, character and is perfect to relax and as base to explore the area. However the communication with the property managers was poor. Needing three emails to chase return of bond and when we staid there a follow up call was needed to ask about getting a broken oven fixed.
We loved this beautiful property overlooking the water. It was very tastefully decorated and had a very lovely feel, it also had a gorgeous verandah. I would definitely book again, however would probably only return in a warmer season due to the issues outlined below.
The only downside to our stay was that the only heating (aside from a very small Oil heater which we had to use in the bedroom to keep our baby warm while he was sleeping) was an open fire place. There was a very limited amount of wood left and it was very damp due to recent rain. There was no newspaper provided or anything else to light a fire, and the wood would not catch properly because it was wet. Therefore, we were left with a very cold and smoky house for the first two nights (there was not enough wood left for the third night). There was also no where that we could find in the little town to buy firewood. My suggestion to the owners would be to provide an additional heater for the main area and to also ensure that the firewood is stocked and stored somewhere dry. That way if someone arrives late at night or when it’s raining there is another form of heating to use instead of having to collect kindling/wood outside. I would also suggest that there is clear communication about whether visitors are expected to bring newspapers/fire lighters/wood etc as it is very difficult to light a fire without this stuff and we were unsure if we were meant to bring this ourselves. We checked in late in the afternoon and did not want to head out in the car again to pick up this stuff up and there was no where in little town that sold newspapers.
All in all this is my only criticism. It would have been a perfect stay in summer if we were not so cold!
We had a lovely two days, enjoying the view out over trees towards the ocean. It is so close to many local beaches, and the lovely Killcare shops down the road had everything we needed. We wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you.
Cute little cottage. Very close to national park, lots of walks and beaches. True little treasure.

Great property and location!
The property, location and surroundings were great, but on arrival the relevant real estate agency was not prepared to receive us later on the evening. There was a mix-up with instructions and keys and so we ended up moving into the wrong property and had to move out again when the 'legitimate' tenants arrived on site. The real estate agent struggled to allocate the keys to the property in their CRM system and then couldn't find the property location. We finally moved in around midnight on the arrival day. Real estate agent Lee was very accommodating though. Also communications prior to rental in confirming the address and other details of the property was poor on the accounts of Homeaway. Lifting your game is a must!!! Regards, Robert Trzebski

A relaxing getaway
A great little cottage perfect for a couple to relax and recharge. It was a private, peaceful location with lovely views and surrounding bush. A homely cottage with everything we needed for a self catering long weekend.
