This is a very roomy cottage in a beautiful area. Unfortunately, the pictures of the bathrooms do not show A) how low to the floor the toilet is in the bigger bathroom and B) how super tight the second one is. The bathrooms are also on the other side of the cottage; a bit of a walk in the middle of the night! Please keep this in mind if you are a "seasoned" citizen like us. We had a problem with one of the bikes and the host was there to fix it within a few hours, which we appreciated. However, the guys' bike is an older racing bike (bend around handlebars, tiny seat) and the girls' bike was too tall of a frame for me to ride on (I'm 5'3'') so we couldn't ride - and that area begs for bike riding - there's many trails and, of course, the big, beautiful beach area! the other problem we had were the mattresses - VERY firm - which may not be a problem for you, but it was pretty uncomfortable for us. Other than these things, a nice cottage in a beautiful area - just remember you will have to drive or ride to the beach and/or shopping, eating.
This property is clean , comfortable and spacious. The location is convenient for activities at the state park as well as downtown or other walking/hiking trails and activities
My 2 children (22 and 7) and I stayed here and we were incredibly pleased with everything! The house is clean, updated, and has plenty of sleeping room. There is a nice dining area and front sunroom, as well as a dining table in the kitchen. Plenty of space for the abundant board games they have at the house! It is also just perfectly located in Holland - a 5 min drive had us to Lake Michigan & to restaurants in the other direction. The owners were helpful in letting us check in a little early with no issue. Would recommend!
The property met and exceeded our expectations! Since it is a 3-bedroom home, we had 2 friends (both widows) stay with us so that we were able to spend time with our church group that were camping at the Holland State Park (less than a mile away) and also go to the beach for beautiful sunsets.
This was our 5th stay at this cottage and it was great as always! Our kids love returning here year after year. Check-in is a breeze and the owners are very helpful and quick to respond if an issue arises. We will return again next year!
This cottage will serve your needs for a simple vacation in Holland. It is close to downtown and the State park beach, yet it is located in a very quiet little neighborhood on the shores of Lake Macatawa. There is room for improvement in that the mattresses are terribly uncomfortable. I hope they invest in some new ones soon. Also, the bathrooms could use a professional cleaning and there was an issue with ants in the kitchen, which we were told was unavoidable due to the way the soil is around the house. I would also suggest an outdoor hose/sprayer to help keep sand out of the cottage. When we got there the bathtub and sink were clogged, but a plumber came a day later to fix it. The host was easy to communicate with, and very prompt. The house is nothing fancy, but it certainly has everything you'll need to have a place to land while you're out enjoying the sights and beaches around Holland with your family.
House was great , in a very quiet neighborhood, rarely even seen anyone, in fact ,we seen more deer than people outside! Very convenient drive or a nice easy walk to the beach , state park , food & ice cream. We would not hesitate to stay again.
This was our first trip to Holland and found this cottage to be very clean, spacious, close to everything and in a quiet, cozy neighborhood. You can even see Lake Macatawa from the driveway! The property is extremely well taken care of and owners are very friendly and responsive. We really enjoyed our stay here! One thing to note, if traveling with senior citizens, the toilets are low so may want a portable riser.
This was our 4th stay at what my children refer to as our “home sweet cottage.” The cottage, location, & hosts are all wonderful! The highlight of our summer!
Great little house tucked in along the neighborhood shores of Lake Macatawa. Easy bike to all the beaches and general store. Just a short drive to all the dinner spots.
House was clean and well appointed. Owners were easy to communicate with and always available.
Great place to stay for a family
We spent most of our time in Holland doing graduation activities at Hope College and Tulip Time events in downtown, but this cottage was a great spot to crash and spend some quality family time as well. We played games, cooked together and explored the surrounding neighborhoods on foot. We had a car to get us to downtown and campus. We were comfortable in all the rooms, made use of the laundry facilities and overall would recommend this home. We had a bit of a mishap checking in, but Norm and Anna went out of their way to accommodate us and it was nice to meet them both!
We stayed in this wonderful cottage for a month in the fall, waiting to move into a newly-purchased house. It was PERFECT for our needs! The location was great: a water view from the front yard and so close to the State Park! My husband took many walks from the cottage to Mt. Pisgah and enjoyed easy access the the miles of bike paths. It was also a quick drive to the shops and restaurants downtown (as well as the ones close by.)The cottage was so spacious and well-stocked, it felt like we were in a "home away from home" and not just a cottage. To top it off, there was a gas fireplace that made autumn evenings cozy. Many thanks to Norm and Anna for thinking of all the things a guest might need to enjoy their stay.
We had a wonderful stay at the lovely blue cottage - it had everything we needed, was spacious, clean, and location was perfect. We will definitely be back!
This is our 3rd time staying here and we will definitely be back. Location is perfect. The house is exactly what we need for our family of 5. Clean and comfortable. Feels like our home away from home.
Loved our stay in the blue cottage! Large driveway was great for parking our boat. House was clean and had everything we needed for a great week! Can’t wait to visit again!
The location was great. The property was exactly what was described. I know my son and daughter-in-law and their children enjoyed it and enjoyed their visit very much. There’s a problem with the outdoor grill that needs to be fixed. And a fire pit would enhance the experience.
This was just the right place for us to stay during my daughter's "wedding week." It was close to practically everything that we needed access to, the wedding venue, my daughter's house, groceries, etc., yet far enough away so that we were able to enjoy the quietness of the neighborhood. The owners were quick to answer our questions and the check-in/check-out process was very simple. We would gladly stay here again!

Why they chose this property
We always admired this unique neighborhood. It's 3 miles from our home, but it feels like another world. We spotted a place that needed some love, and we gave it. If you don't rent it, we'll be there enjoying it ourselves.
