About this property

Lakefront: NC mountain cabin on Lake Lure

Waterfront cabin with a private beach in a secluded cove on Lake Lure, NC. Three bedroom, two and 1/2 bath cabin completely remodeled in 2014 and professionally decorated. With outdoor shower this cabin is a comfortable home for six adults.

If you ve been to Lake Lure beore you know that many places here are high above lake level. One of our favorite features of Foxy’s Hideaway is that you can park directly at the cabin - only 15 feet above lake level!

Amazing, private getaway

Perfect location on Lake Lure! This private getaway is a wonderful spot to get away and enjoy nature and all that Lake Lure and Chimney Rock have to offer. Even better than the pictures! Comfortable, clean, quiet and beautiful.

Perfect Family Getaway

This lakefront property included practically everything our family of four needed as a "home away from home". The cabin offered just the right balance of coziness and modern conveniences. The lake & mountain views were beautiful, and there was something for everyone to enjoy directly on the property (kayaking, fishing, sunbathing, swimming, grilling, napping on the porch bed swing, row boating, etc). Spacious bedrooms, updated bathrooms, built in beverage fridge under the bar, and fully stocked kitchen equipment made for an ideal setup. The outdoor shower and 4K HD Smart TV were real bonuses, too. The convenient location allowed us easy access to local activities, shopping, and restaurants. Our kids are older teenagers & young adults, but no doubt that younger children would have just as much fun. We fell in love with the place and hope to make it a regular family vacation destination in the years to come!

Great Lake Lure vacation

We have stayed at Lake Lure in various properties on and off the lakefront for many years. This house provided the best lakefront experience. It felt like an old family home in which we were invited as guests. Location was good, the house was comfortable, and access to the water was the best. As we get older getting down to the water and getting in and out becomes a little more difficult. This was a walk in property. We swam, floated, and kayaked.

There was nothing I didn't like

We were so happy with this property and the convenient location. Plenty of good restaurants nearby, but Foxy's also has a great kitchen. In fact, the house had every amenity we needed and was very comfortable. After doing Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Hendersonville for three days, my favorite day was spent floating in the lake. Melinda and Andy, thanks for everything! We'll be back next year!

Idyllic Family Vacation

This is the classic lake vacation home, Melinda and Andy have thought of every amenity. Our entire family is in love with Foxy's Hideaway and we are already talking about our next visit! It was important for us to have easy lake access with few steps since we were traveling with young kids (4y and 6y) and grandparents. The shallow sandy beach area was perfect for them to play and enjoy the lake. They offer the use of their floats, canoe, and kayaks which made it effortless to arrive and get out on the lake. This home has the ultimate back porch with a swinging bed and farmhouse table; we did not eat a single meal inside. Someone was always in the hammock either taking in the view or napping. There is a grill for guests to use and we made s'mores on the fire pit by the lake. And they even have an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. They have seriously thought of everything! Inside, the kitchen is well stocked, the sofas cozy, beds comfortable, and the decor is beautiful and charming. They have puzzles (we completed the National Parks one!), games, and DVDs which guests can use. This place immediately makes you feel at home and like you are visiting a good friends house on the lake. Thanks for hosting us Melinda and Andy, and sharing your beautiful home.

Lake Lure Getaway

We found Foxy's Place to be a very charming cabin on the lake. It was clean, well stocked and comfortable. I also enjoyed all the fun and eclectic decoration choices throughout. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms offered plenty of room. The bathrooms were clean. The kitchen offered all that was really needed. We spent a lot of time on the huge back porch that overlooks the lake. I appreciated the way the cabin was situated far closer to the lake than most homes were. I also appreciated the sandy beach where you could just walk into the water. The owners offered floats, two kayaks and a canoe that we were pleased to use everyday. Overall, I would definitely recommend this charming home for a vacation on Lake Lure. The owners were great and easy to communicate with.

About the host

We started coming to Lake Lure in 2006 for family vacations and rented several homes in the area before deciding we wanted to have our own place here. We love to come here and relax with friends and family, and hope that you will enjoy it too!

Why they chose this property

We have stayed at several Lake Lure houses with many stairs that were a challenge for older family members. Foxy's Hideaway has a long driveway that you take down to the cabin and are then only about 15 feet above lake level. Also the beach is great for younger kids and makes it easy for anyone to walk right in or out.

What makes this property unique

While we were a bit daunted by the driveway at first, we soon learned that it is easy to navigate and once you're at the cabin you have easy lake access. We practically spend all of our time on the front porch in the summer and love to relax and read on the daybed swing or hammock whenever we're not floating out in the cove. And of course, there's something really magical about spending a summer evening with the family at the lakeside firepit, cooking s'mores or just hanging out watching the stars.
