Perfect for Our Family Reunion
We loved the lodge! It was low key with lots of space for our mixed age group. Lots of sitting areas and the sleeping situation was really comfortable, with lovely views from every window. The kitchen was well set up for our large group. It even stayed very cool in the house despite the heat. There was lots to do right on the property and we loved swimming in Day Creek. Next time we will take more advantage of the big room! Helen was so helpful and responsive! Thank you for making our visit so wonderful.

A little rundown outside, but perfect inside
We were a bit worried, the exterior being the first impression. But once we got inside, we were delighted, happy and very very comfortable. We would stay again if ever in the area.

Bountiful & Beautiful
I want to thank the owners and caretakers of the Cedar Springs Lodge for the loving care you obviously put into this amazing lodge and property. Staying there with a group of women friends to practice yoga and self-care was a big treat. The surrounding property is lush and tended to. It was wonderful to be greeted by horses that seems so happy as I walked down to Day Creek each morning. The birdsong, the frogs in the pond- so special. The yoga space was perfect and spacious. The first yoga class we listened to music on the sound system, but all the other sessions, we just opened the back doors and listened to birdsong. It was mid-80's when we stayed there, but the lodge itself stayed surprisingly cool and comfortable. Screens on windows kept the flies out, and breezes flowed through the house. The property is so quiet. You can't help but feel nourished and cared for. The amenities were great- comfortable beds, cute little rooms, plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen had loads of plates, mugs, cooking tools. We brought our own sharp knives, and everything else was great for us. The last night, we had a bonfire, and the stars were spectacular! A perfect setting for connecting, laughing, and eventually singing together. We will be back for sure. Thank you a thousand times!!

Great place for large gathering
We had a family gathering for a memorial service and we all found it such a joy to be able to be together during this time. This was a great place for groups with a small "Gym" for the kids to get off energy, a nice big kitchen, a seperate living area for those not wanting the noise of the dining room conversations. Its in a beautiful area and Michael and Nan were terriffic hosts.

Beautiful Property
This is such a unique rental. We were able to host a small wedding with all of the wedding party staying at the property. There are so many rooms, with different configurations. We had the ceremony on the lawn, dinner on the covered deck, and dancing in the big room. I did find the communication a little confusing. They had said they were going to hold the Loft space available in case we needed it and then ended up renting it to someone else. Also, I was in touch with Michael prior to arriving and then Nan took over the primary role when we were there and some of the information would have been helpful to have beforehand. This probably only really matters if you're hosting an event. We were lucky enough to see elk while we were there and were able to include blackberries and plums from the farm in fruit salad in the morning. We also took a group hiking in the North Cascades which are close by. Again, a beautiful and flexible rustic space.

So Special!
This was truly one of the most magical places my family has ever stayed. There is so much love and thought that went in to designing this very very special home. It is the perfect place for a big family wanting to either relax or have a central point for a hiking trip. There are many cool things about this property. There is a creek in the back that you can swim in and see wildlife in a very safe way. They are animals on the property that Mike and Nan were kind enough to show my children including two crazy cute pigs. The property itself is very tranquil where you can sit out at night on the porch and look out at the mountains and all you hear the beautiful birds. The rooms are really really sweet and special with unique names and themes such as the rose room or the honey room and that made us feel very welcome. The kitchen had everything needed to cook an amazing meal. I’m already sad that we laughed and hope this is going to be part of our future again as a family destination! I will close with this home is truly a product of love and caring made by two people that really care about those coming to visit.

Great for big family or group
Nice place for large number of guests...lots of beds and bathrooms. Kitchen was huge and well-furnished. Our family stayed here for a wedding and housed most of the groomsmen and spouses quite comfortably. We also had a family dinner one night for 35-40 people and had plenty of room.

Perfect for a relaxing weekend in the summer!
The Lodge at Cedar Springs delivered on beautiful rolling hills, a large indoor space, and amazing owners! The Lodge was our ideal space to host a camping and social dance event for the weekend! The fields are beautiful and well kept, the creek was an amazing space to relax and cool down, and the area around the buildings were lovingly cared for. The buildings themselves were comfortably decorated, and the space felt amazing. Michael and Nan were so sweet, and wonderful to work with. It felt like we were invited to their home, not renting a space. Overall, the experience was marvelous, and we hope to be back in the future!

We had a wonderful family vacation at this great property. Very friendly & helpful owners
We were a group of 14, 10 adults & 4 children There was plenty of room. We all enjoyed the "ball room", the short hike to the creek, fire pit in the back yard, a large outdoor grill, a large well stocked kitchen. Michael & Nan, the owners, were so helpful both before & during our stay. What a wonderful place for our 3 generations to spend a week together.

A Beautiful Weekend
Our weekend at The Lodge at Cedar Springs was wonderful. The buildings and grounds worked very well for our event. We loved having a separate space in the loft for the facilitators, and a space for the workshop to be held next door with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable and attractive rooms for the participants. The lodge is spacious and very attractive, the camping for those who camped is in a beautiful location by the river and under trees, and the wildlife is wonderful. Michael and Nan are wonderful hosts, and easy to work with. We were very, very pleased with this venue for our event, and plan to come back soon.

Family Outing
The farm was a great location for our family gathering. The stream behind was a great fishing opportunity and also good for playing and swimming for the kids. There were plentiful bedrooms with different configurations that we needed. Actually, we didn't come close to using all the facilities available. There is also a large room that the kids enjoyed. There were several large balls for them to throw and roll around. So, it became called the Ballroom. The kitchen and outdoor fire pit presented great options for cooking with lots of seating in the dining area. A great place!!!

Wonderful Family Reunion at this Enchanting Place!!
Everyone, we had such an amazing time in this huge house with plenty of bathrooms and privacy for our entire family. We immediately fell in love with the kind owners Michael and Nan, who gave us the lay of the land and made us feel so welcome. Comfortable and clean - and so many nice touches that make for a special occasion everyone is still raving about. A home run. Not to mention the beautiful countryside that looks like you are in a storybook. Lots of walks and the conversations at the stream and then sitting at fire pit at night to tell stories and catch up. A huge kitchen for comfortable cooking and of course the giant "yoga room" where the kids (and us adults too) had fun stretching our legs after a long day of walking! Really special, thanks Michael and Nan!

A country adventure
Our family rented The Lodge at Cedar Springs for a reunion event. Twelve adults and 7 children arrived on Friday afternoon and enjoyed the well appointed kitchen, large living space, and comfy, cozy bedrooms. On Saturday our local family members joined us for the day and evening. The group totaled 40 and the property accommodated us very well. We enjoyed playing in the creek, petting the goats, and guided rides on the horse. The children loved the exercise room for play, watching videos and just good cousin time . We all enjoyed the campfire, star gazing and watching the wildlife feeding in the large pasture. This property was just perfect for our large family gathering, for those spending the nights as well as those visiting for the day. The owners were gracious and flexible as our group size was not know until the final day. We hope this will become the site for our annual family event.

'Just a wonderful place!'
Our small family group of 9 people (7 adults and two teenagers) stayed for 5 days. I myself was sadly unable to join due to a family illness, but the group reported the following: "Perfect place for a group. Comfortable beds. Great kitchen and eating area. Beautiful surroundings. Warm friendly hosts. Good location for getting to both the mountains and the islands. We were lucky to arrive during fruit season. We picked blackberries every morning, plus peaches and plums. The lodge is part of a working farm with friendly dwarf goats and dogs. The walk down to Day Creek was lovely especially in the early morning, with the elk in the field. Just a wonderful place!" Thanks to Michael for all his patience and understanding over the constant changes to the booking!

Happy Scrappers
Our group of scrapbookers/quilters LOVED our 4 day retreat here! It was a perfect size space for us all to spread out and be creative. Kitchen was perfect, plenty of comfortable places to sleep, lots of ways to take some creative breaks and time outs. All in all PERFECT! We are hesitant to spread the word as we want to keep it free for us :) We will be back!

About the host

Host profile image
Nan and I are grateful to live on this beautiful farm. These days Helen and Stephen are here too, welcoming you to this sacred spot.

For those who'd like to know the history of places, I will tell the simple version. The over 100-year-old lodge was once a dairy barn that we retrofitted into a healing center, which we operated between 2004-2010.

In 2010, we let go of that business and began to rent the lodge to groups looking for a place to retreat. Now the healing work that's done in this place takes many forms, including reuniting families, spiritual and ceremonial gatherings, nature immersions, music, dance, art, and other celebrations of life.

It is an honor to offer our hospitality and to be blessed in return by all those who come here to visit. We look forward to welcoming you!
~ Michael

Why they chose this property

Cedar Springs Lodge & Retreat Center is nourished by the land on which it stands, which was originally inhabited by Coast Salish tribes.

We honor the people who lived near and, possibly, on this land, who were referred to as "those who fled to the high bank" (English translation). They derived their name from the fact that the land surrounding Day Creek is watershed and floods periodically during the wet season.

If you walk through the fields past the tree line, you will hear the murmurs of Day
Creek beckoning you to take a dip or rest and enjoy the peace of its flowing waters.

What makes this property unique

Many visitors sense that this place is Sacred Ground. Day Creek and the established Nature Reserve are a sanctuary for wildlife. Guests often view Elk, Beaver, Ducks, Deer, Herron, Eagles, and more while visiting this tranquil habitat.
