Beautiful place. Had all the amenities you could ask for. We only had a problem with the check in. We had the wrong unit given to us but it was resolved and everything was good. Will definitely come back again!
Lake Chatuge is the best and our stay here was perfect. Short walk to the docks/marina, the condo was nicely decorated, organized and the kitchen was well stocked. The teenagers loved the paddle boards and kayaks, too!
We felt right at home with this townhouse. Great layout for multiple couples, and it really felt like we were staying at our own home, which most vacation homes don’t to us. Really enjoyed our stay here and loved the scenery of the area. Will definitely be visiting again soon.
Condo is spotless, community is quiet and well maintained. We have stayed here many times, and will return, simply cannot find other properties that are this nice that also have a dock for our boat. Be aware that there are two flights of steep stairs, so probably not ideal for senior citizens with mobility issues or
toddlers....otherwise, the view of the lake from the master bedroom deck is well worth the stairs.
This was our second time renting at this location and it was just as great this time as it was three years ago. Cyndi is a great host and is always quick to respond if need be. Would definitely recommend.
Enjoyed our few days at the lake! The property was fantastic! Very spacious and had just about everything we needed. Just a short walk to the water and dock. Having the paddleboards, kayaks and all the equipment was a great bonus! Complex was very quiet and safe. Stairs in the unit might be an issue for some people.
First time visiting Lake Chatuge.
Location is convenient which has it pros and cons.
Pros: close to restaurants and groceries. Easy to fill boat up with gas.
Cons: located right next the highway so it was a bit noisy from the traffic. Sitting inside you could here it. Out on the deck at 9-10 pm there was still a lot of traffic. Noise is the reason for the 3 stars on location.
Easy to drop boat in at Campground and motor over to boat slip. Easy storage of trailer on premise. Comfortable beds, only used two of the bedrooms. Decent supplied kitchen. The couch and two chairs in living room are probably due for an upgrade soon. Couch had a support that was sticking out the back. The chair legs wobbled a little when sitting in. The unit is located at the top of the hill so it is a little bit of a hike to the dock.
Overall, it was an enjoyable and moderately priced for a week stay. Beautiful picturesque lake. Super clean/clear water.
Great townhome: large, spacious, clean, perfect for a family of four, or larger. The master bedroom is huge with ensuite bathroom and walk in closet. Each smaller bedroom was perfectly sized, one having a jack-and-jill style restroom, open to the main the level. Balcony overlooking Lake Chatuge and a dock if you need to park the boat. Likewise, there are paddle boards and a canoe in the garage, which is super clean and perfectly fit our large suv.
Each small bedroom has a television (which my kids were super excited about), but neither works. Also, the unit is situated right behind a major highway, so as the traffic gets heavier around daybreak, you will hear all of the noise inside the third floor smaller bedroom.
Last, the nightly rate is very appropriate given all of the wonderful specs of this unit. However, there is a "Host Fee" that includes both a property fee and a cleaning fee. Be advised that this is pretty steep considering the host asks that the beds be stripped, garbage be taken out to a dumpster at least 50 yards from the unit, the towels be washed, and the dishwasher to be ran before departure.
That being said, I would definitely consider staying again and do recommend this. I just wish this information would have been outlined in the property description.
We wanted to share that our expectations were not met for what was sold to us as a luxury rental at a luxury price.
Each bedroom was nice and clean but the bathrooms were missing the typical supplies of soap and shampoo. We were not informed about this in advance, so we did not bring our own. After we arrived and asked the owner about this, we were told it was due to Covid-19. Meanwhile, liquid pump soap bottles that had obviously been used were located at every sink. Other rentals places we’ve stayed during the pandemic had no issue with providing individual-size soaps and shampoos. Most importantly, we were not informed of this ahead of time and only found out after we arrived and saw the bathrooms, forcing us to buy our own after paying a luxury price.
Another item we could not find was a hair dryer. For a luxury lake rental property where you would likely return with wet hair, this seems like an essential item to provide. This is typically provided at most other places.
Another issue was that we could only find two place settings for a table of four. However, this location caters to and charges for groups larger than two people.
Finally, the iron was hidden on the top shelf of one of the kitchen cabinets. We couldn't reach it in this location, but that didn’t matter as we never found the ironing board.
Individually these are small details, but together they fail to meet our expectation of a luxury rental at a luxury price.
Had a wonderful time on Lake Chatuge and surrounding areas! Cyndi was very prompt with her communication and the check in process was very simple! There were a few things that could use attention such as wobbly bar stools, light bulbs that need changing and the refrigerator was not clean, BUT everything else was absolutely perfect for a family of 3 adult couples! Really enjoyed fishing from the dock, the outdoor fireplace/grill, swings overlooking the lake, and the location to the Fairground as well as to some local wineries. Will definitely be back - with our boat!!!
This is our 2nd time at this condo - and it was just perfect! Love having the toys in the garage and access to the lake! Condos bedrooms are very spacious and it's nice that each bedroom has a bathroom. Thanks Cyndi for another great stay!!
We spent 5 days in this Townhouse and everything was perfect. The house is beautifully decorated, it is very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the time at this place and sure we will recommend to family and friends.
We really enjoyed our stay at this lakefront condo. Its location is extremely convenient to Young Harris, Hiawassee, and Hayesville.
The condo itself is gorgeous! Furnished with comfortable and beautiful furniture and decor.
The only thing I would say (and this is not a deterrent unless climbing stairs is difficult), there are two lengthy sets of steps. They do have handrails and it's laid out so well. Just noted so that if you have heavy items to carry up, you're aware.
I would highly recommend the rental :)
Great birthday getaway with close friends. The condo was very comfortable and decorated lovely. Plenty of space for four ladies. We enjoyed the outdoor balconies with the view of the lake and mountains in the distance. We ate all of our meals at the condo which was really nice and convenient. Great experience visiting Bell Mountain! We also enjoyed a nice hike at Jack Rabbit very close by. Highly recommend this condo and this area.
Property is conveniently located near excellent restaurants and sightseeing. Nice views of Lake Chatuge and loved access to pontoon boat for enjoying the lake. The townhome was meticulously clean and well appointed. Highly recommend!
We definitely loved staying on this property. The pros: beautiful furnishings, partial view of the lake, well stocked kitchen utensils and appliances, the canoe w/ cart, garage parking, location near grocery, dollar, and C stores, and the whirlpool tub. The cons: no coffee (although a keurig and regular coffee maker are available), lack of sufficient toilet paper for 4 day stay, no response from owner when asked where to find a spare roll of toilet back (DG is nearby so we purchased some), and being required to wash and dry towels prior to departure (Since my husband likes to shower in the morning, we were literally just waiting for the towels to finish washing so we could leave.) Also, I would recommend replacing notes written on paper plates, note pads, or post-it notes to laminated surfaces or better yet framed notes. We enjoyed Bell Mountain, waterfalls, hiking, and riding over to NC to look at some of the leaves changing colors. The pros definitely outweigh any cons and I would gladly rent the property again which is the measure of a rental.
The property was clean and modern, with a nice lake view and lake access just a very short walk away. We didn't use the available water toys, but there were many at our disposal. All utilities and appliances were modern and worked properly.

We have enjoyed the Mountains of North Georgia for many years. The beauty of this area of the country has always been a very attractive place to vacation or just relax in the quietness of a long weekend. We have always been in the service industry and love adding value and enjoyment for our customers. It is always been our passion to deliver the best experience we possibly can to our clientele. Our goal is to somehow make a small impact in preserving this area for those seeking the serenity and beauty of Lake Chatuge and the Mountains of North Georgia.
Why they chose this property
We purchased our property in Sunset Bay because it allows us to enjoy the Lake and the Mountains in an environment that is easy to maintain and easily accessible. Our complex is immaculately maintained by professional landscaping companies and the location is just perfect. Situated in between 2 marinas and 3/4 mile from the Towns County Recreation Center is really convenient for us as well as friends and guests. We like having several good restaurants close by for casual dining with friends and neighbors. If we don't want to eat out we can grill under the pavilion and watch the sun set over the water. The property includes a covered boat slip for boating and jet skiing which is an awesome feature. There is a fenced in storage area for owners and their guests to keep everything secure. The complex has a tennis court as well.
We bought our townhome in Sunset Bay because of the quality of the workmanship in the house. We noticed that the builder took pride in the finishes of the home. Upgraded cabinets, faucets, fixtures, flooring, etc. Granite throughout the house. Probably the biggest reason for buying in Sunset Bay is the location on the Lake and the quality of the Townhomes in the neighborhood.
What makes this property unique
This home has excellent Lake views from both balconies. Our dock is well maintained and is an easy walk down to the Lake and back to the house. Our guests will enjoy how well provisioned the home is. The kitchen is well equipped and there is WIFI internet throughout the home.
