Spectacular Island Retreat
My husband and I and our two adult children spent a glorious week at this stunning property. The views of the ocean could be seen from every room at the front of the house. The screened in porch, side deck and upper deck all added so much to the overall experience. The path to the beach was a magical walk leading to a pristine singing sands beach where we swam every day. Local highlights included the poke shack for a delicious lunch in Souris and Elliot’s general store for close by provisions. Well appointed kitchen and comfortable beds. We absolutely loved this property!

Relaxing getaway
Highly recommended for those looking for solitude with a view. It was perfect for us in every way. Quiet, comfortable, views from almost every room, well equipped. The evening sky was unbelievably clear. We had the private beach to ourselves and numerous choices for outside seating on decks, beach, screened in porch, and well maintained grounds. Lovely stay…

Spectacular
This beachfront property was beautiful. Patti Sue was amazing to deal with and the whole process of renting her property was easy. Her Beach House was fully equipped with everything that I would’ve wanted in my own home it was comfortable it was roomy and beautifully clean. The view from the screened in porch was so relaxing and I enjoyed my morning coffee looking out at the ocean. I will be definitely renting her beautiful home in the future. Thank you so much Patty Sue Debbie and Spencer Thorsen

The best views!!!
My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary here and it was a wonderful stay! The weather was colder than anticipated but it didn’t stop us from taking in the views and walking daily on the beach. The house has EVERYTHING you need plus more!

Perfect stay
This property is a real find. My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. We would go back in a heartbeat, despite the three-day drive from Ontario.

Absolutely perfect!!
I can’t say enough about our recent stay at Island Retreat! It was perfect in every way! The home is decorated with quality furnishings and that view! We were looking for a quiet, relaxing week and boy, was it ever. We had many dinners in the beautiful deck followed by a walk on the beach. We will be back!!!

best kept secret on pei!
Our 3rd time here, and it just keeps getting better.!The best thing about this ad on vrbo is that the pictures you see are EXACTLY what is there. Quiet location, awesome views, fully appointed cottage, all the amenities you need. If it was for sale, we would probably buy it. Worth the trip from the prairies. Randy Steinbach Mb

Paradise on the beach
This house provides a beautiful scenery for the most relaxing holidays. The view from the deck is breathtaking. The silver of the moon reflected on the ocean is stunning. After a little and well appointed walk, you find the beach, with very clear water. We set up a camp fire that entertain us for many nights. It was really fun to have the beach just for ourselves and the family of foxes. Inside, the house was very well appointed, with everything that we could think of to make our stay fantastic. Fresh flowers, nice mattress, beautiful decoration, puffy towels, etc.... I am sad our week is almost gone! Thank you for share your small piece of paradise with us! Claudia & Jean, Ottawa, ON.

Much more than we could ever imagine.
The listing does not do justice to this beautiful property. The view is breath-taking. The beach is unbelievable - the sand is so clean and white (and virtually private). There are some fun rock formations which book-end the beach on each side - and make for a little climbing adventure if you're so inclined. The cottage is clean and fresh and in immaculate condition. We were here the last part of June / first part of July, and we felt like we had the whole Eastern part of the island to ourselves. (which was fine as far as we were concerned). We ate fresh seafood almost every night (from Bergayles fish market - about 10 mins West of the cottage) and from a vendor in Souris. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you could possibly need for preparing meals. There are also 2 public beaches, one 4km to the East (Basin Head, which is pretty nice, and has a worth-while museum/exhibit on fishing in the area) and one 4km to the West as part of a provincial campground. The main village, Souris, is nice enough, and there are 2 grocery stores and a liquor store (if driving through Quebec - stock up in QC - as PEI beer/alcohol is pretty expensive). Also - the selection and prices of food was a bit better at the Sobeys in Charlottetown. There's not a lot to do in Souris - but there is a good Visitor information center, and Ch'Town is about 75 mins away and Cavendish about 2 hours. The tap water was fine for drinking and the owners even included lab-analysis of the water in the welcome folder. Communications with the owners was easy enough, and setting up the contract and payment wasn't a problem. We went cycling almost everyday and loved it. The Confederation Trail is about 7km north off of Baltic Road, and is best suited for Hybrid / Mountain Bike or Cyclocross bikes. You can also join the trail directly in Souris. Road cycling is a bit sketchy in the area - the roads weren't terribly busy, but the cars travel fast, and the main highway is a little narrow in this part of the Island. For people with mobility issues: the house is on a cliff overlooking the ocean, and there are a few steep stairs to navigate to get to the beach; but it's worth it. Alternate beach access at Basin Head is only a short drive away if the stairs pose a problem. Other bonuses about this cottage were: high-speed wifi, satellite TV, huge DVD library. We really enjoyed our relaxing and peaceful vacation here.
