The Wombat Studio on Acton is a bright Studio apartment in a tranquil setting with private guest access. If you enjoy waking up to the sound of birds chirping rather than the drone of traffic and the hustle and bustle of city activity, you will enjoy the peace of the Studio.

The Studio is separate from the host's residence and accommodates two adults with ease. Facilities include; bathroom, laundry, kitchen with hotplates, microwave, toaster, sandwich maker and small fridge. The kitchen is also well equipped with crockery, cutlery including coffee and tea making facilities. A private courtyard with a guest barbecue and outdoor dining facilities are also available.

Continental breakfast provisions are supplied which includes:

Relax on the comfortable sofa whilst logging into the free WiFi or watching the 43" flat-screen TV.

The studio is part of a 5-acre property overlooking Frederick Henry Bay towards the Tasman Peninsula. Free-ranging wildlife is abundant on the property and surrounds which can quite often be seen grazing at dusk.

Safe and easy off-street parking for up to two vehicles.

The Wombat Studio has gained all relevant Council approvals for short term holiday accommodation and holds a certified Occupancy Permit - Permit No. 6/1516.

A later check-out time may be available upon request.

As this is a semi-rural area it is highly recommended that guests have their own mode of transport as the public transport system is extremely limited.

From registration onwards, the experience was seamless. Patsy is a most obliging host and goes above and beyond to welcome her guests. The property is set in a semi-rural area within walking distance to some very convenient shops. Wombat Studio is immaculately clean, comfortable and quiet providing all that is needed for a very enjoyable stay. I have recommended this property to many others and will definitely return when next in Tasmania. Very grateful to have found such a gem.

So pleasant we wished we could stay longer!
We were looking for a quick, convenient stay close to the airport and transfers for our overall holiday, and man, did we hit the jackpot! Patsy and the Wombat Studio were a delightful surprise. Spotless, comfortable and peaceful, we are so disappointed we could only stay one night. Patsy was SO generous with her time and airport transfers, and the breakfast included was perfect for our needs. Definitely adding to the list next time we are in the area, for a long term stay.

Wombat Studio is one of the best studio apartments we have stayed in located in a quiet rural setting with a lovely and helpful host. Welcoming and Peaceful Retreat
We were warmly welcomed by Patsy, and she walked us through Woman Studio and showed where everything was. The whole Studio was tastefully decorated, especially with many delightful and thoughtful wombat knick-knacks. Even the tea towels had wombats on them. The supplies for breakfast were plentiful and great variety. The studio was spotless and had everything we had expected and more with many personal touches. If we ever need accommodation near Hobart in the future, we will definitely stay there again, and we highly recommend both the host and the accommodation to anyone.

Wombat Studio
Patsy is a warm, friendly host who welcomed us to the cosy Wombat Studio. She told me about the bandicoot I might see on the property when I arrived and that afternoon I observed it going about its business from the window which was just lovely. I was also welcomed by the Superb fairy wrens which were hopping around just outside the kitchen window which is at eye level. The place was immaculate, clean and cosy. Patsy has thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible including generous breakfast supplies, which I was grateful for after my flight in. Patsy was very kind to have a chat and offer some suggestions on some places to visit in the local area. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to stay. Oh I forgot to mention the beautiful view over the bay! Thanks Patsy😊

More than I could have hoped for in every respect. Patsy our hostess has the perfect stay overlooking the bay. A studio tastefully appointed with all the mod cons including food for a complete continental breakfast and internet streaming service. An impeccably clean property.

Fabulous place to stay!
This was beyond our expectations! Host Patsy was there to greet us on arrival and show us around. Situated in a lovely peaceful rural setting but also close to Hobart , Richmond and not far to Port Arthur means you have the best of both worlds. Also close to Tasmania and Royal Hobart golf clubs for golfers. The studio has a wonderful ambiance about it. Beautifully decorated with special touches and well equipped with everything you could want and more. Quality linen and super comfy bed. Nothing was too much trouble even proving breakfast cereal for my dietary needs. Hosts Patsy and Noel were easy to communicate prior to check in and very helpful sharing their local knowledge of places to visit. Highly recommend this great place to stay.

Fantastic Studio & Excellent Stay
This is a cozy, clean, quite and comfortable unit with high quality household items. Patsy was very welcoming and greeted us at the door and showed us around. They provided decent breakfast with bread and various cereals. We also loved the views from bedroom windows, looking over outside garden and blue water at some distance. Very Peaceful. Oh, there are two lovely well trained dogs which are so cute and friendly. Wish we will stay again.

Sets a high standard
This beautiful property was very well managed by the owner. It was immaculately clean, organized, and we were provided with food (cereals, condiments, juice, milk , fruit, bread,jams, coffee and teas. The location is rural but close to the airport and a short drive to grocery stores and to Hobart. We loved our time there and would not hesitate to return.

I am an animal lover and well-known carer of injured or orphaned native wildlife in Tasmania. I was employed for 14 years by the State Government as the Coordinator of the Program which placed injured and orphaned wildlife with the volunteer carer network around the state (now retired).

Whilst I love all native animals, my favourite is clearly wombats.

My involvement with, love and respect for such incredible creatures led me to call our accommodation 'The Wombat Studio'.

Why they chose this property

The Wombat Studio is part of a 5-acre property in a semi-rural area. Acton Park is considered a safe area, is an easy short drive to Hobart Airport, yet far enough away to not to be bothered by aircraft noise. The studio is located 400 metres from the main road, therefore, is a quiet and private location. Even though we are not located within the hustle and bustle of the city, Hobart is only a short 20-minute easy drive. Many southern Tasmanian tourist sites are an easy drive from the Studio, for example, the Coal Valley Wine region, Richmond Historic Township, Port Arthur Historic Site and Mount Wellington, just to name a few. The Wombat Studio is warm in winter, cool in summer with the bonus of a pleasant view over Frederick Henry Bay.
