Woman's retreat

This was our first woman's retreat away, we had an amazing time at this cabin. It was A class and everything we needed was there, from games to cookware even enough space for us to just enjoy each other. The fire pit and the lake was a plus. If you are looking to get away with a group this is the place.

Thanksgiving

Everything was amazing. The house was exceptional clean with alot of thought put into the home. This was our "first" Thanksgiving gathering that was not a at family members home and it was like being home. Thanks for an awesome home and always responding to us if we had questions. I will recommend this place for anyone with a large family.

Excellent House for Ladies Retreat

The ladies from our church stayed here for a weekend retreat. Don't hesitate, just book it. Everything you need is at your fingertips. Don't let the bunk beds worry you. These are custom built, sturdy beds, with real mattresses. They sleep great. Our ladies are ready to book this property again.

Amazing stay

Absolutely incredible cabin! Pictures don’t do it justice if how pretty and spacious it is. Very clean and the check in check out was super easy and the host were amazing and gracious would definitely rent again. Would be an amazing spot in the summer

Could not have been more perfect for our family reunion. I love the house layout for togetherness! My parents are in their 80's and are comfortable on the second floor and can see the activities on the dock as well as the third floor gameroom activities from the den or the porch on the second floor. We will continue to come back....

Family Girls’ Trip

We had a wonderful time! The property was very clean and spacious. The added bonus of a paddle board and kayaks was great for the younger members of our family. The only thing that we needed was a larger coffee pot and Keurig for those lazy mornings on that big porch.

Beautiful and Fun Weekend on Lake Hartwell

This is a gorgeous home on Lake Hartwell ! We rented the house for a weekend of boating, wakesurfing, paddle boarding, and jetskiing. Kelli was an incredibly gracious host and was very helpful with answering any and all questions I had in the weeks leading up to our arrival. Highest recommendations for this property if you're looking for a fun weekend on the water in Hartwell.

Amazing Stay!!!

You will not find a better layout or more strategically planned vacation home than "My Gal Sal." Kelli and her family were extremely helpful and easily accessible throughout our stay. All of your business meeting needs were met at this home. You literally can go from what feels like a business executive board meeting room to beautiful Lake Hartwell within a matter of steps. "My Gal Sal" is an absolutely beautiful home that also offers a semi-private cove that can be used for swimming or lounging around in the lake. I will most definitely bring my team again for our admin retreat. Kelli, thanks to you and your family for being such gracious hosts, and I hope we are able to coordinate another stay next year. FIRST CLASS

This property is perfect in every way if you are looking for a space to accommodate a large number comfortably on Lake Hartwell! The floor plan is well thought-out. Everything you might need is there. It is clean and luxurious! Large, plush, plentiful towels! High end cookware Gas fire pit and lots of snuggle blankets Plenty of out door furniture The second story deck looks out toward the lake and is stunning Large family style tables We saw deer and fox in the yard No visible neighbors And there is a light inside the dishwasher (I've never seen that before) In summary, this house is stellar! The rate was appropriate (maybe even low) for what we got! Thank you to the Schell family for sharing this amazing retreat!!!

Camera in the kitchen

We did enjoy our stay at the cabin. The property was clean and there was plenty of room for our large group. There were two issues that prevented the experience from being perfect. First, there is a camera installed in the kitchen. This is an invasion of privacy and was not disclosed in the listing. Also, the upstairs refrigerator did not work well and our food was room temperature. There was a refrigerator in the garage so we were able to move our groceries. Overall it was a good stay but our group was creeped out by the camera.

My Gal Sal is Perfect for Family Gatherings

We love "My Gal Sal" and return annually. In fact, we were married on the property in 2023. It's a fantastic home to bring together a large group of friends and family. The house is immaculate with everything you could possibly want to entertain a large crowd. The huge bunk room on the second floor is perfect for all the teenagers/young people in our entourage; having so many bathrooms makes mornings and after-lake showers a breeze, and there is plenty of space for people to spread out for different activities and personal space, and then come together in the large, open living room-kitchen area. The big covered porch is perfect for morning coffee and evening gatherings. The home was obviously designed with extended family in mind, and attention to detail. Our group includes people ages 2 - 70, and there's something for everyone to do and enjoy, regardless of weather. The garage pool table and table tennis are always a hit, there's a ton of board games and great lounge space where the kids enjoy hours long Uno tournaments when they're not on the water, and we bring our boat and jet skis and tie off at the dock without problem. There is a boat launch just around the corner which is super convenient. The property manager is wonderful. She's really helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Once we found "My Gal Sal," I no longer have to spend countless hours looking through VRBO listings. This is the perfect Lake Hartwell house for us year-after-year.

OUTSTANDING!!!

This house is perfect! I organized a guys weekend heading to a Clemson football game (50 minutes) and would also work well for a GA game in Athens. The entire group loved the house as the living areas were plentiful and comfortable. The favorite areas include the spacious and well appointed kitchen, watching NFL football in the living room, gathering for our meals at the table and hanging on the deck and fire pit outside. All of the beds were very comfortable and allowed us to wake up ready to enjoy the day. The worst part of the weekend was leaving on Monday!! You can tell that Charlie and Kelli really put the effort into planning the layout and details of the house and you'll appreciate their ability to execute those details if you're ever lucky enough to rent this house. Finally, Kelli was great during the entire process. She answered all of my questions before our trip, recommended a terrific caterer and was available throughout our stay. Thank you Kelli! Perfect for Wedding, reunion, or fishing tournament

The picture do not do this place justice. We had our wedding here over the 4th of July and it was perfect. Everyone was blown away by how spacious it was. We had about 70 people in attendance and about 16 staying, mostly adults and big kids. Don't let the fact that there are bunks deter you, they have more than enough room for grown men over 6ft. This place has a fully stocked kitchen with everything you may need for hosting any event. The kids (and adults) loved the dock and the fact that they have multiple kayaks, paddle boards, and lounge chairs to use. It's in a private cove with little boat traffic so you won't get beat up by boats passing by and we had no issues parking our 24' fishing boat at the dock. The boat ramp is also really close which was great. There is a ton of space for parking so hosting an event or having multiple trucks with trailers could easily fit. Loren is an amazing host. She evern put together an amazing book with any information you would want when visiting a new town. She was always available to answer any questions that we had. She even hooked us up with some great references on venders in the area. I could go on and o about how exceptional our experience was. My only "downside" (but it really wasn't) was that the cell phone reception was not the best. There is wifi at the house. If you do have a wedding with songs you want to play, I recommend downloading them before you get there just incase there is a lag. We didnt have issues though

Thanksgiving weekend

This home is a great place for family gatherings. Our extended family had all we needed for a fun family weekend. Plenty of room for all ages. Adults enjoyed the pool table while the teens played games and watched movies. Kitchen is the best equipped kitchen I've seen in a rental home!

Another Wonderful Event!

Our family were fortunate to visit this property in 2017 for our "Annual Retreat" and decided to return...unfortunately due to COVID-19 surges in 2020 and 2021 we had to cancel. We made it happen over the 4th of July 2022 and had a BLAST!!! Property in pristine condition with more than enough amenities to make you really feel at home. One family member was able to dock his boat and we took cruises around Lake Hartwell...one unexpected and pleasant surprise was the fireworks viewable from the lake! One Property had a fireworks show that could have went toe to toe with any small city in America! Owners always very responsive and totally accommodating! Although we "rotate" properties every year, this property is quickly gaining consideration as a permanent location for our "Family Retreat. " Thank you very much! Jl

After 12 years on active duty I exited the military as a Major. My primary aircraft was the AH-64 Apache, today its the Rolls Royce powered C210T Silver Eagle. Both sides of the family are rooted in miitary service. On my mothers side my granfather flew 25 plus daylight raids of Germany and on my fathers side my grandfather was on multiple ships sunk during WWII. We enjoy everyday because the probablity of us even being here was slim. The Land surrounding the Lake house has been in our family for decades. It is where my Grandparents settled and where we have some of our fondest family memories. The Lake house is affectionately named "My Gal Sal" after the B-17 Flying Fortress that my Grandfather crewed and that crashed with him aboard in Greenland. The plane now hangs proudly in the WWII museum in New Orleans, LA.
