Welcome to Waihi Getaway - home away from home in Waihi town. The newly built bach is a 3 bedroom house with separate bathroom and toilet as well as a fully equipped open plan kitchen, lounge and dining room. WiFi is included in the stay.

The supermarket is just 3 minutes drive, as well as a number of shops and restaurants. Its good if you are looking to explore Karangahake Gorge or heading out to Waihi Beach - just a 12 minute drive either direction.

Well equipped house, convenient for the area

We were looking for a house in Waihi so we could access various things in the area, not just the beach. For this, the house was perfect. House was very clean and tidy and well equipped. Everything you needed in the kitchen. Great wifi, good shower, good tv, a few games and jigsaws. Only downside is the outside area of the house...there is no real garden or outdoor area, or even any outdoor furniture. And no BBQ. We knew this, and this was ok as the internal house was great for what we needed and it rained for 3 days! But if you're looking for a nice outdoor area in nice weather, possibly not the place.

Excellent experience

We booked this property on line, very easy. A day before we arrived the property manager emailed me the access of the property. We really enjoyed staying there. It is very comfortable and it had everything we needed. It was just like we were at home. The owner was very friendly. We will definitely book the same batch when we go that way.

Great spot!

We enjoyed our stay here. The owner provided clear comms and was easy to get a hold of. The place had everything we needed and enough space for us to be comfortable. We used the bbq often and the washing machine is large so we were able to do all our washing in one go. The washing machine was a little tricky to use, but we managed to make it work. I would have given 5 stars for the overall experience except the shower ran out of hot water daily (we couldn’t figure out why, as we didn’t use much hot water) and the beds were a little uncomfortable but we were grateful for what we had. Otherwise, we had a great time. The house is in close proximity to the beach and freshwater, so you could pick which one you wanted to do. We would stay again.

Nice place - very handy for Rail Trail

Place was in good condition and had everything you need - would stay again. Very close to the train station/start of the Hauraki Rail trail which was handy for us

Clean and tidy with all the essentials!

Had a small issue with a sink which the owner fixed within a day for us so we could enjoy our stay! Was a lovely property in a good area!

Lovely modern house in a great location

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was very tidy and modern. The location was perfect for us as it was only 14 minutes drive to the beach and also Karangahake Gorge which were our key visiting points during our stay. We would recommend this to other visitors.

Great place to kick back, peaceful and quiet

This place is relatively new, modern and well appointed. Plenty of room, lovely deck area with plenty of off street parking, great. Just a couple of things to improve the property is provide Salt & Pepper shakers, trim trees so they don’t hit the house in the wind at night. Also a BBQ for use would be great.

More than you expect

Beautiful place with a great deck area to relax on. It had everything we needed and was a short drive to Waihi Surf beach. Air conditioning was a bonus as it can get quite warm in the house. Thanks again Gwen. We loved it.

New Years Getaway

Great property for a group of friends to get out of Auckland for a few days. Close enough to the beach and Karangahake Gorge for afternoon swims, and a great living area for board games on the not so sunny days. Would definitely stay here again!

Great stay after a rocky start

Have to be honest we had issues finding the property, contacting the owner by phone and getting into the key lockbox due to all 3 lots of information relating to these things not being up to date on the website. However once we were able to start our stay it was great. The house was lovely and tidy and had everything you could need. Would recommend.
