Glenferrie Rd: You should find everything you need in nearby Glenferrie Rd, including supermarkets, hairdressers, all the major banks, and even a cinema. Find the current fashions at many great boutiques, pick up some gourmet produce from a local grocer, and soak up the lively food and wine scene by exploring the bars and restaurants along the strip.

Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), AAMI Park and Melbourne Park: If you’re in Melbourne for the football, tennis, cricket or rugby, or any of the other sporting or concert events that Melbourne has the privilege to host, all of these venues are only a 15 minute tram or train ride away (#70 or #75 trams and Belgrave/Lilydale line train).

Yarra River: For a bit of exercise, you can go for walk, jog or cycle along the beautiful Yarra River, just around the corner.

Bridge Rd: If you’re after a bargain, break out your sensible walking shoes and head to the clearance outlets in Bridge Rd, less than 3km away.

Kew Junction: Take a 2km stroll to Kew Junction, another busy strip of specialty shops, cafés, specialty produce stores, fashion stores, and a great selection of restaurants.

Camberwell Junction: A little further away (10 minutes on the #75 tram or Belgrave/Lilydale line train) is Camberwell Junction, where you'll find the Camberwell Fresh Food Market (open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays), major chain stores, unique retailers, supermarkets, boutique eateries, lively wine bars and the magnificent Rivoli Cinema. On a Sunday morning, the famous Camberwell Market also comes alive, offering a variety of second-hand clothes, furniture, knick-knacks and curios.

Maling Rd: Further again (15 minutes on the #70 tram or Belgrave/Lilydale line train) is historical Maling Rd,with its village setting and more than 50 shops restored to their original Edwardian style. Sample gourmet goodies at a specialty deli, satisfy your sweet tooth at an old-fashioned lolly store, and check out the other assortment of eateries and unique fashion and homeware stores that are there.

Day Trips:

The apartment is an ideal base for day-trips into the eastern parts of Victoria. Sample Australia's best pinot noir and sparkling wines in the world-renowned Yarra Valley, or follow the winding road up through the thick, tall forests and cool fern gullies of the Dandenong Ranges, with its unique variety of picturesque towns and villages, homesteads and gardens, and Australia’s oldest steam train, Puffing Billy (both 50 minutes away). Further afield, in about 90 minutes you can get to the stunning beaches, upmarket resort towns, wineries, cafes and restaurants along the Mornington Peninsula, or to Phillip Island, with its pristine white beaches, penguins and koalas in their natural habitat, and the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

Getting around:

Generous sized comfortable property in a convenient location
Generous sized comfortable property in a convenient location. We liked the washing machine and the parking space. Short walk to Hawthorn station. Very short walk to #70 or #75 tram. We also walked to two very nice restaurants - Mother Dough (Italian) and Momoco Sushi.

Great place for exploring Melbourne and vicinity
My wife and I needed a place for 6 days as we came from Canada to attend the Australian Open and visit Melbourne of course. The place is well located, in a quiet street away from the town centre but still very easy access to both the tennis centre (about 6 stops) and the city centre (an additional 6 or so stops) on Tram 70. The place is big (it's a full apartment) with a cozy backyard. It's well equipped and we could also do our laundry which was very convenient. The price was very reasonable given the amenities and the proximity from tennis and town centre. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely try to book it again should we decide to return to Melbourne.

Super convenient old style apartment
Enjoyed the quiet location and it was perfect for my stay in Melbourne. I am a cook and would rather eat in than takeaway so would have liked a few staples in the kitchen such as olive oil, a teapot and leaf tea and a few condiments. The main bed was very comfortable but the couch bed mattress was old. It would be fine for a child but not comfortable for an adult. I’d stay again if I’m welcomed and next time I’ll bring my own food stuffs.

Excellent location for family visit
The apartment is clean, spacious and well-kitted out. The bed is very comfortable. It is good value for money. Perfect for what we wanted, a base close to our daughter's home where we spent most of our time. Would book again.

Just right
The property was roomy and had everything needed for a comfortable stay away from home. The extra items included, such as coffee, tea, hand wash, shampoo, are extremely useful to any guests had forgotten to bring their own. The courtyard would be a very peaceful to sit and have a cup of coffee or read a book if you had time to relax during your stay. We were very impressed with the overall appearance of the property.

Fantastic location and a great base. Easy walk to publuc transport and cafes. Super quiet... surprisingly so, as there are a lot of apartments in the street. The unit is clean, tidy & comfortable and has all the basics. Special touch of homemade jam and a few essentials which got us through an early morning start, after a late night arrival. Cannot fault the hosts communication. Everything we needed to know was advised prior to arriving. Would happily stay again.

Retro apt in Hawthorne, Melbourne
Good experience with the renting process. The apartment was very clean with all we needed for our stay. It’s very bright and has a lovely garden in the back. It’s circa 1960’s but we enjoyed the retro feel. Very quiet too!

Excellent stay
This unit was spacious and had plenty of storage. It was clean, comfortable and well eqipped. We only stayed two nights but we will need to go back to Melbourne several times over the next year for short and longer stays and we will try to book this unit first as it will be perfect for both types of trip. A very important point was how quiet it was. It is in an excellent position for transport but we couldn't hear a sound. There is also a lovely little courtyard that would be perfect in warmer weather.

Lovely quiet apartment in leafy Hawthorn
I really enjoyed my stay and the unit had everything I needed. There was a minor maintenance problem which was addressed promptly. Updating of Airconditioning might be helpful in the future. The weather was very hot during my stay and the aircon only just took the edge off.
