Ocean Front Cottage with amazing views! Only steps away from white sandy beach.

This renovated cottage has breath taking ocean views. Situated just steps from 7 miles of Pophams' white sandy beach . You will enjoy views of Seguin and Pond Island light houses, spectacular sunrises and star filled skies at night! This fully furnished 2 bedroom cottage is part of the Driftwood neighborhood. The cottage is in a condo association with shared access to private beach.
There are many activities to enjoy during your stay. Beach, swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, explore Fort Popham and golf, to name a few. Historic Bath is only a short 13 mile drive where you can enjoy dining, shopping, art, tour the Bath iron works shipyard and visit the Maine Maritime Museum. If shopping is what you like Freeport is only 30 miles away.
Please note. Our association requires 7 night stays but exceptions can be made to accommodate a minimum of at least 3 - 4 night stay during July and August. April, May, June, September and October rates represent a 3 night minimum weekend rate.
All guests must be 25 years of age or accompanied by a parent. This home is part of an association and rules set by the association must be adhered to. No Unit Owner shall obstruct or interfere with the rights of other occupants or annoy them by unreasonable noise or otherwise. No Unit Owner shall use the Common Elements or Limited Common Elements for any activity that would obstruct or deter views, ingress or egress by other Unit Owners or guests or invitees Boats longer than 12 feet, motor homes, campers, trailers of any kind, tents, shacks, sheds or other outbuildings are not allowed on the property. Storage for boats less than 12 feet, dinghies, kayaks and paddle boards shall be within the Unit Owners Limited Common Element and not obstruct the view of any other Unit owner No trash, rubbish or other offensive materials or materials degrading in appearance shall be allowed to exist on the Units or Common Elements excluding any area designated for trash and/or recycling by the Association
As of 2020 we no longer supply linens or towels. With current sanitizing and cleaning protocols we have decided it is in the best interest of all guests to bring their own linens and towels. We do have a washer and dryer in cottage ( detergent supplied). However if this is a logistical issue (airplane travel) please let me know and we can arrange professional linen service at an additional cost.

Outstanding Popham cottage

Our stay was everything we expected and more! The cottage is so well done, decor, layout, fans, and all the rest! The owner, Deb, communicated clearly and in detail. She was available for whatever we needed. The oceanview as we walked in was knock you over beautiful. As a Mom and young daughter traveling I felt safe and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here!

Seals and sunsets

This was the second time we've stayed in one of these little cottages and they are ideal. Filled with light, the sound of crashing waves, clean, and ideally located.

Great place and location

Cottage was very clean, cute, and roomy. The location is PERFECT. It’s right on the beach with spectacular views. The cottage is provided with all you’d need for your stay. I would definitely go back. 10/10

Perfect Popham Location

The cottage is located overlooking the beach. Wonderful view, spectacular sunrise. You have a lovely walk towards the state park or towards the Kennebec River. The cottage is compact but well equipped and very comfortable.

Best beach vacation ever!!!

This was a magical, little cottage on a magical stretch of beach!! We really enjoyed slowing down and taking long walks on the beach, listening to the ocean while we slept. The cottage was well stocked so we had everything we needed to make for a beautiful week. Debbie was wonderful arranging an extra parking space for us for the week and checking in upon our arrival. We only left once for a short trip to Bath for shopping and lunch, which was lovely. We'll definitely be back!!

Perfect beach cottage

Our stay at the light blue cottage could not have been more perfect!! The cottage itself is in very good condition, new kitchen and bath and comfy furniture. Communications were prompt and clear. We are beach lovers and enjoyed being able to walk right out to the beach. I've stayed in many vacation rentals over the years and this little cottage is at the top of the list. You will not be disappointed. It was like camp for grownups!

We loved our stay at popham beach. As soon as we walked into the cottage we could see the ocean out the windows! The cottage was clean and had everything we needed! Debbie was also great and so informative on the cottage and places in the area!

Perfect oceanfront cottage on Popham Beach

The rental experience was great from start to finish. Debbie was so quick to respond and provided abundant information about the cottage, the rental process, and places to go and things to do in the local area. The cottage is very clean and well appointed. The ocean views, access to the beach, and lack of crowds made for a relaxing, wonderful stay. We plan to rent again in the future.

Family Vacation

Our time at 40 Driftwood Drive was excellent. The beach is just feet away from the cottage and the view is unbeatable. The cottage is clean and well equipped, even a playpen for baby! We didn’t want to leave and want to go back as soon as we can!

Best of Popham Beach

Beautiful and Relaxing!

Amazing beach cottage

We had an amazing stay at this fantastic cottage. The location could not have been better and you could walk on the beach for miles. The kitchen was well stocked which made cooking at home easy and enjoyable. Debbie was incredibly responsive to all of our questions. If you are staying in the cottage during the off-season as we were, be aware that the cottage is not winterized. We had one morning when it was 39 degrees outside and the cottage was very chilly. We would definitely stay here again the next time that we are in Maine.

Perfect beach getaway on Popham!

For us the beach was right out front, perfect for walking, swimming and enjoying the spectacular scenery. The well-appointed cottage was a bonus, comfortable and full of windows to gaze at sunrises and the beach, also to hear the sound of the surf. We never left in the car we were so contented and would definitely look into booking again. A perfect pandemic getaway but would also work at any other time.

Perfect getaway location!

The Murphy Cottage has everything you will want and all the things you need just as if you are at home! Perfectly stocked and you will never have to leave the cottage. We relaxed and enjoyed the Maine beach and never had to worry about a thing.

Wonderful Maine beach getaway

This beach cottage has a view that can't be beaten! Waking up to the sound of the ocean right out our door and seeing Sequin lighthouse was wonderful. Likely the best appointed beach house we've stayed in-- the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed. Hosts were incredibly kind and responsive. Sleeping arrangements were a little tough with an almost 2-year old trying to keep the room dark enough for her. Would definitely recommend for adults or families with slightly older kids wanting to get away. Would love to come back!

Beautiful Beach Front Cottage

This Popham cottage is a gem, clean and charming. Everything is brand new and in great shape and everything has been thought of. The location cannot be beat, right on the beach and next to the State Park. Views are gorgeous and constantly changing every hour of the day.
