A Magical Stay

We have been coming to Cape Cod every August for 25 years and have always stayed with friends. When we couldn’t come up in 2020 because of COVID we made a vow to book a place for the entire month this year. We wanted a house that was quintessential Cape Cod, on the water and we wanted to be able to walk into town. This home delivered on ALL counts! The house is spacious and immaculate with so much character and the best stocked home we have ever rented. Ann was amazing and so quick to respond to questions. We had different sets of family and friends join us each week and lifetime memories were made with each group. From watching our 1 yr old grandson learn to walk on the beautiful lawn, to daily morning walks to the village coffee shop and the beach, to Happy Hours and dollar oysters in the village and grabbing steamed lobsters at the fish market and bringing them back to eat on the patio. And I think we helped the village market make their annual quota in wine while we were there.! We literally had everything we needed within walking distance. But when we did venture out further our location was perfect for getting everywhere on The Cape, especially the proximity to Hyannis and the ferry to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. Even our friends who have lived on The Cape for years couldn’t believe how amazing this house and location are. Thank you for sharing it with us. Thank you for helping us make memories with friends and family that we will treasure forever! We cannot wait to come back next August!

Incredible water view in a wonderful home

This is an exceptional rental home. The view is magnificent, the sunsets breathtaking, the home beautifully appointed, with everything you need. It is in a very nice neighborhood, and easily accessible to everything. We were sad to leave. Ann is a pleasure to work with, was quick to answer any question. We absolutely LOVED our stay in this beautiful property.

A week in Paradise

Two families had a wonderful week in this beautiful, spacious, clean home with a perfect location in Barnstable. The house is well-appointed with many spaces for kids and adults to hang out separately or together. Sleeping was very comfortable. The neighborhood is perfect for biking and walking. Town, which has ice cream, restaurants and a coffee shop is an 8-minute bike ride/ 20 minute walk. The bay is warm (rocky so water shoes are a must) and great for swimming, crab hunting and kayaking. While we brought a kayak and a SUP, we were a large party so we also appreciated the kayak at the home. We ate dinner every night in the huge backyard with gorgeous sunsets. Bring bug spray for the evenings. We are so glad we stayed here!

Great week in Barnstable!

We had a lovely stay with two families with young kids at this property. The town and the neighborhood are really quaint; coffee , general market and ice cream were all a 15 minute walk into town, a sandy beach and a great clam shack were 30 mins walk (or a 2 min drive). The Barnstable beaches were fantastic for young kids and we really enjoyed having the beach parking passes provided by the owner. Hyannis is a 15 minute drive away which is really convenient for tours or day trips elsewhere on the Cape. Grocery stores and everything you could need within a 5 minute drive also. The house itself is well decorated, clean and has a great Cape vibe. There’s a beautiful view of the bay in the backyard and from the living room too for hot or rainy days. We went to the beach in the backyard everyday. It’s a rocky/muddy beach, but the water was great for swimming and fishing. The backyard is huge and our kids loved playing there (although bug spray is a must for the visit). We had everything we needed while we were there: bbq is great, kitchen well stocked, sheets and towels provided, a lot of games/puzzles for kids. The owner was friendly, answered questions we had during the booking process, checked in on us upon our arrival. Overall this was a beautiful property and great home base for a fantastic week on the Cape and we would absolutely return!

Perfect, just perfect!

You can't control the weather, but even Mother Nature graced us with perfect weather during our week stay in July. We had such a blast with our family in this lovely home. We never felt crowded with all the room this home allows and everyone felt comfortable. You don't want for anything in the kitchen, it allowed us to prepare whatever we needed having supplied all pots, pans, utensils besides using the gas grill daily. Sometimes twice a day! Shopping is close by as well. We all took neighborhood walks day & evening & even to the Tavern down the street. This home is in a perfect location, the view is beautiful and it's decorated to make you feel right at home. We loved it & hope to return next year. Don't even hesitate to rent here!

Barnstable Home on the Bay

Our family had a great stay at the home on the bay. Outside was fabulous with a large yard for the kids and bay beyond for fishing and kayaking. The inside fit our needs and we did a lot of cooking for our family of 10 including grandchildren of varying ages. The town market had everything and the coffee shop and restaurants were so convenient. We would highly recommend this comfortable home on the Cape. Bring water shoes and insect repellent for outdoors!

Wonderful location, spacious house

This spacious home on Salten Point was perfect for my family of 10 (6 adults, 4 children). The house was clean and nicely decorated. Everyone had plenty of room to spread out, while also having numerous options to sit together to read or play games. The backyard was wonderful - the kids spent many hours playing catch and tag, and digging for shells on the beach area at low tide. The adults all enjoyed the relaxing view from the patio. It's a short walk (about 20 minutes) to Barnstable Village, where there are cute shops and dining options. We had a fantastic week and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Second stay just as great as the first!

We returned to Salten Point for the second year in a row and we loved it just as much as the first time. The house is great - plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our family. The kitchen is well-equipped and the living areas are roomy and comfortable. The backyard and view from the deck can't be beat. WONDERFUL!

Exceeded Our Expectations!

We knew by looking at the photos and the variety of listed amenities that choosing Ann and Joe’s home at Salten Point was a good decision, but the reality exceeded our expectations. The house is beautiful and located at what appears to be one of the best spots on the Cape – Salten Point in Barnstable Harbor. The expansive yard stretched to the water, and each tranquil morning, while having coffee on the terrace, we were greeted with songbirds and monarch butterflies. Each evening, the stunning sunsets blanketed us in brilliant colors while we watched birds diving and fish jumping near the shoreline. It was one of the most peaceful get-aways I’ve had in long while. The interior was just as lovely as the outdoors. We had every amenity we could have possibly needed, plus. Each room offered its own charm, and the décor was a delight. I was still discovering new art at the end of our stay. I love the reading nook upstairs, and the view from the master bedroom - wow! The house and grounds were so private, there were moments we felt like we were the only people around. Joe and Ann created a hospitable environment and made our stay trouble-free. They had clear instructions on entering the home, and little notes about that helped make our visit easy. Within walking distance to Barnstable Village, we enjoyed exploring the various shops and visited the market regularly. Everything we needed could have been found there, and Whole Foods was within driving distance for some of the extras. The only negative thing I have to say about this house is we had to leave. If (or when!) we visit the Cape again, we have no more searching to do. This waterfront home on beautiful Barnstable's Harbor Salten Point is the place to stay.

Beautiful, peaceful, tranquil slice of heaven!

This place is so incredibly beautiful and peaceful that I really did not want to leave. So much so that we actually indulged in the "open house" fantasy in the neighboring area over the ten days we were there! The house is very large and yet very cozy at the same time, the family room is perfect, the kitchen has everything you need, and there is such an abundance of bathrooms and bedrooms that a very extended family could stay here comfortably, and even several couples could have privacy whenever needed. The back deck and backyard, on the water at Salten Point, is simply to die for. I spent most of my days relaxing out there, enjoying the view and the tranquility of the Bay, the birds diving and feeding, reading a book or goofing around with the guitar I found in the closet! Barnstable Village is a short, enjoyable walk and is so nice; with restaurants and a lovely little cafe and an excellent market that has just about everything. Just a perfect vacation!

Great vacation house

We rented the first week of July 2017. The house was everything we hoped it would be. The owners are easy to deal with and very responsive. We vacationed with our adult children (total of 7 of us) and the house accommodated all of us with ease. The yard is great with a beach at the end. You will need water shoes as it is a bit rocky (gravely) with lots of shells. The water is warmer here as it is in the protected harbor. At low tide a sand bar appears and makes for great swimming. We rented kayaks for the week and they were used all the time. The kids strapped our beach chairs to the kayaks and would spend hours out on the sand bar. Clamming was fantastic (make sure you get your license online). We found the best place was about 400’ to left of our beach. We had our quota in 15 min. The neighborhood is quiet in a beautiful upscale area. It’s a short walk to town. Plenty to do and see with easy access to neighboring towns. We loved the fact that traffic is not bad compared to the rest of the cape. Highly recommend this rental property.

Wonderful house, wonderful location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The house is beautiful and spacious - plenty of room for our large family. We enjoyed many hours out on the deck and in the backyard with the beautiful view of the water. The walk into town to the coffee shop and the market is quick and manageable. Lots of other local activities are close by. We kept saying how lucky we were to have found this perfect spot!

The view is fantastic and the house is wonderful for large family!!

The children and grandboys loved the large yard and outdoor deck! We spent so much time outside enjoying the water, yard sports, and relaxing on decks for dinner. The sunsets were spectacular and evenings sitting out there were simply the best! We rented kayaks and went to sand bars on Sandy Neck side of harbor. We ate dinner at the Harbor which was wonderful. The location is awesome! We could not have asked for a more accommodating beach house. Tom and RoseAnn Escandel from PA

What A Nice Stay on Cape Cod!

We rented this lovely property for one week in early July. The home was immaculate and included everything one might need or want. The location on Barnstable Bay was delightful. The water was warmer than elsewhere and the views across the bay to Sandy Neck were quite charming. We barbequed and strolled along the beach, which is quite wide at low tide. The house comfortably slept our family of 6 and we didn't fill the house. The owners were communicative and helpful. The proximity of the property to Cape Cod attractions was excellent. We especially liked Corporation Beach and the Hyannis Whale Watching tour originated in the Barnstable Harbor (very close) and is not to be missed. We never saw so many whales in one place. We recommend the property and would choose to come back in a heartbeat.

A Slice of Heaven

I found a slice of heaven where the sun dances On the water almost at your back door. I so enjoyed everything about this absolutely beautiful Home - the fully equipped kitchen, the many bedrooms And bathrooms, the laundry room, the artwork sprinkled in each room and Of course, the peaceful view of the water from the family room. The house is located on a lovely quiet road not too far from the Center of town where there are some places to eat and to do A little shopping. Bike riding, beach combing, exploring the many beaches not too far away are just a few things that we shared during our week There. I have wonderful memories and a great desire to hurry right Back to this idyllic setting as soon as the summer comes again.

Beautiful house on the water!

We spent a week at this beautiful house and loved it! The house is right on the water with spectacular views of the harbor. The location was perfect--close to town, restaurants, and grocery store. The house was very comfortable for our kids (ages 8 and 14) and their grandmother. The kids loved the yard, deck and beach. They were able to walk or ride bikes into the nearby village. On one rainy day during the week, we all enjoyed playing games and doing puzzles in the large family room facing the water. The house was well equipped with everything we needed--pots, pans, glasses, towels, comfy blankets. We had a wonderful vacation and hope to stay here again. Highly recommend!

A Hidden Gem

We love this Salten Point cottage. When we arrived, the whole house was spotless. It was well stocked with everything you need for a vacation full of fun summer dinners. If you don't want to make every meal at home, you are near tons of restaurants. The cottage is so comfortable for all ages. It is great for young families as well as families with teenagers or grandparents. You can walk to the Barnestable Village and grab a coffee or an ice cream. The neighborhood is a beautiful, quiet residential spot. Finding a house like this in the Mid-Cape is the hidden gem. Just wait for your first sunset, you will never want to leave!

Ann and Joe have been traveling to the Cape for over 25 years. We have 3 grown kids and love to travel the world to learn what we can about other cultures -- we are always amazed about how much we have in common with people everywhere if you open your mind to the possibilities.

Why they chose this property

The Cape is where our families, based on the west coast and the east coast, meet every year. For more than 25 years, cousins have connected on the Cape, including the last 10 at this house. When it became available, we couldn't resist the opportunity to buy it and share it with other families seeking a true Cape Cod experience.
