Old Salt Beach House - Noosa Area

Old Salt Beach House is a dream holiday house and is a great place for families and friends to come together. Located in Marcus beach, positioned at the end of cul-de-sac on a private road and is less than 200 steps from away from the beach entrance at access number 45, through a private gate from the property. Old Salt welcomes children and is pet friendly.

This relaxed coastal beach house is beautifully presented with stunning panoramic views of the ocean and the bush and is equipped with everything you need for a beach side holiday. Walk through the frosted Japanese gate to discover the amazing outdoor area and find the entry way, from where you can see the ocean at ground level and hear it breaking on the shore.

The property boasts an impressive outdoor entertaining area laid out over large timber deck with a stunning sparkling magnesium heated mineral pool and an 8-person heated enviro spa. The deck has outdoor furniture and a Webber BBQ to enjoy outdoor dining by the pool and sea. Alongside is a huge, lush grass back yard, perfect for relaxing or for the kids and/or pets to play. The yard is private and fully enclosed. Enjoy fun and relaxation for the whole family. Head down to the private beach gate and step out and walk through the gardens to head straight over to the beach to enjoy kilometers of pristine, unspoiled coastline of Marcus beach and beyond. Marcus Beach is dog friendly off leash doggy heaven. Near this gate there is a cold outdoor shower & hose to wash down yourself, your pet and your beach items when returning from the beach. And around the side of the house there is a private alcove with a shower that has hot and cold water for the ultimate outdoor show experience.

Step out to the back balcony and look over the nature reserve bush lands at the west side of the property and enjoy the ocean breezes on the northeast facing balcony, just off the dining room. There is also a BBQ on this balcony so you can enjoy a BBQ feast upstairs as well. There are two bedrooms on the upstairs level, one with incredible views of the ocean to take in from your bed and the other has an en-suite with views out to the ocean and to the nature reserve, and even has a TV for undisturbed chill out time. There is a powder room on this level also. If you are looking to spend the day relaxing upstairs, in all areas is the ideal location to watch the ever changing ocean and enjoy the sounds of nature. Memories
On arrival, a message from owners welcoming us and a bottle of bubbly waiting. Great start. The house suited our needs to the highest degree! Loved the view out over to the beach from the huge windows upstairs. Luckily we made use of pool and spa on our first day as the weather for the rest of the week was not kind. Many memories made with the family. Thank you for contributing it those.

Best family holiday ever
We had such a relaxing and fun time. From beach walks with our puppy, swims in the pool, long soaks in the spa and relaxing in the sun all around and in the home. Then fun family card game nights and a quick dash to the shops to enjoy some of the local fresh produce. Just amazing!

Beach/Tennis holiday
Good things: Location: excellent short stroll to dog free beach Security: excellent house and outside fully fenced Breezes: excellent high enough for top floor to enjoy sea breeze Kitchen: well appointed everything available House: large enough for family to spread out Beds: Comfortable Facilities: Outside shower and hot tub enjoyable Areas to improve: Th property is 'tired' and in need of some maintenance and care. The lawn is good. The gardens are somewhat dead and unsightly. There are three televisions in the house however only one could receive live television programs and even this one lost signal every time the weather became unsettled which was nearly everyday. Overall enjoyable, however for the asking price improvements needed. AM

Great location but disappointed :-(
We had a week at Old Salt House, and unfortunately 6 days poured with rain, not just sprinkles, heaps all day, which is no fault of the owner/Prop mgr. I was disappointed to find very nasty stained mattress protectors and old BLOOD marks on pillow covers :-( There was sand actually IN the main bedroom bed! - between the dirty mattress protector and the bottom sheet. Bed was hard. i had to use a doona from another bed to put underneath for comfort AND to hide the dirty mattress protector. Pretty disgusting I thought. The bed needs replacing. It slants outwards, rolling us out of bed each side. Whole house should have been cleaner. Door and window runners were filthy as were all fly wires which are old and have holes and are missing on some windows. NONE of the flywire/sliding/security doors lock. Very old and worn. Re: The Spa. I've never known a spa to be SO HOT! It was 36c. Far too hot for the average person to sit in, day or night. It was like being boiled alive! Unable to change temp. so we couldn't use the spa. And yes, the outside shower WAS the best of all three showers. Ridiculously tiny shower cubicle on top level of house, with a giant rainwater shower head! Really bad for shorter people and hair gets wet each time you shower. Now for the plusses. I liked all the cookware and crockery and cutlery, glasses etc., very nice. Location is good, though tons of sand-flies along the storm water drain that runs into the ocean. Lots and lots of dogs off lead as the locals ALL come to this beach. We were hoping that it would have been quieter as we have an old dog who doesn't like the young dogs running right up to her, which was stressful. The little Perigean shopping centre is nice, and the IGA supermarket is great, plenty of organics and interesting food. We won't return, sorry.

Blissful
We truly had a wonderful relaxing holiday. Although the house is very dated, after 2 days we did not notice as all the pluses of the holiday location allowed us to see past the negatives. The views from the lounge and balcony were our daily medication for happiness !! The kitchen appliances were great and had everything a real foodie would need to make a gourmet meal!! The beach is close and sleeping to the sound of the sea was magic. Only real negative was the traffic noise from David Low but the constant sound of the ocean helped to drown out some of the noise. Great restful holiday and I would definitely recommend it.

What a great set up!
We love staying here! The house was so well set up with everything you need for an awesome break! Walking distance to the beach, a pool - although it was too cold for it the kids enjoy it and the SPA. What I treat - we used that multiple times everyday! Best stay ever, we will definitely be back. Thank you so much

Great house
Really great property in a fantastic location with great ocean views. The only downside to our stay is the house was originally stated as a 5 bedroom in which it is 4 and also the hot water would not work late at night or in the mornings.

"Home away from Home"
When we arrived at the "Salty Dog" we were immediately impressed, the view of the ocean was seen as we walked through the side gate into the rear yard. The house itself was well appointed with EVERYTHING you would need and want for your stay. The decor was immaculately presented. The beach which is a min across the road is spectacularly pristine, but be aware this is NOT patrolled by Surf Life Savers, but further down the Peregian beach and Sunshine Beach is, you can still enjoy a dip up to waist to be safe. The surf can be heard whilst relaxing on the upper deck of the "Salty Dog" and whilst relaxing watching TV, and in bed, what a wonderful sound . Don't forget the spa for extra relaxation, remember to rinse off under the outdoor shower before getting into. Close to Sunshine Beach Surf Life Saving Club, which do a beautiful breakfast on Saturday's and Sunday's, we attended the Melbourne Cup Day Luncheon here too, which was wonderful. Noosa Junction, Noosa Heads and Noosaville are ALL a very short drive away. Peregian Beach is the closest shopping centre that is 5 min drive, which has an impressive IGA Supermarket. All in all we would have to HIGHLY recommend the "Salty Dog" to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday close to everything. A BIG thank you to Mike & Sonya for allowing us to share the 14 days in your perfect peace of paradise. PS.and we fed the fish everyday. Gaynor & Andrew
