About this property

Creekside is located on 6 acres nestled in the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina alongside Drymans Creek. We have just one rental unit, so booking a stay at Creekside, you will be the only guest. It is 800 square feet all on one level from your car to the door with bath and shower one step up. The unit has been remodeled on the lower level of our home overlooking Drymans Creek with a view of the mountains and a horse pasture . It has a covered deck and private entrance. It is most private and quiet. Listen to the serene sounds of the crystal clear water rushing over the rocks, take in the mountain view from the deck with the creek below. Watch horses graze in the neighboring pasture. Walk the creek taking in natures splendor. You might like to pan for gold or hunt for arrow heads in the creek! Hike the many trails nearby. You will especially want to visit Pickens Nose a rock outcrop on top of the mountain and stand at 5200 ft and look into the valley below. The Appalachian trail is nearby and water falls abound. Our area has been the setting for Hollywood movies too! The original "Fugitive" was filmed nearby. The train wreck is still visible too! "Deliverance", "Last of the Mohicans". Most recently "3 Bill Boards Outside Ebbing Missouri" to mention a few. If you are an antique motorcycle enthusiast you'll want to visit "Wheels Through Time" motorcycle museum showcased on TV as the show "What's in the barn". There's so much to see and do you won't want to leave! Motorcycles are welcome with easy access from highway. We have covered parking for motorcycles if needed. Also in the event of a motorcycle break down, we have a trailer setup for transporting large touring bikes and a good shop to take it to.

Great Quiet Weekend

While we weren't able to go on any hikes in the area, the stay was amazing and we were able to disconnect for the weekend and just enjoy the holiday together.

Great Times

A business trip in the grasp of Hurricane Helene. The location and abode was great. A getaway into the mountains with beautiful scenery in spite of the storm. Owners are great, friendly folks and their goal is to make you happy and welcome. Will definitely visit again, hopefully with better weather. All was well and we were extremely happy with the arrangement. Wonderful trip.

Beautiful and relaxing

My husband and I absolutely love staying at Creekside! It is always quiet and peaceful. It's far enough from the busyness of town to enjoy the mountain view with the relaxing sound of the creek on the porch, but close enough to get to town with a short ride! We always hate to leave but look forward to our next visit! Thank you Jo and Joss for sharing Creekside with us again!

Relaxing and Invigorating! From porch time to bike trails and waterfalls! Lots to do.

One of the cleanest properties we’ve ever stayed in. The owner was excellent. Very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating! We loved sitting on the porch overlooking and listening to the creek, while watching deer and horses in the fields around the creek

A Deck With A View

What a gorgeous piece of property! The view of the noisy creek, the does and their fawns passing through daily and the groundhog and horses! We were entertained every day. I was reluctant to leave the deck for fear of missing something. Great accommodations and lovely owners! We will return.

Unplug and enjoy this peaceful getaway by a creek

Quiet and peaceful property with a creek and hiking paths. View of a pasture with horses from the front porch. Easy access, not too far from the main road. Interior was nicely decorated with everything you need. The hosts were very accommodating. Surrounded by trees and mountains, you probably won't get cell service, and internet is spotty. Just a short drive to Franklin.

Beautiful Place to Stay

Plenty of room inside and outside. All the amenities you can imagine.The outside areas and creek below are very relaxing as well as an open Mountain View from the porch. Very private and homeowners will answer any questions you have about the area. Would highly recommend a stay here!!!

Ideal Stay for Peace, Beauty, and Rest!

I cannot rave enough! The Volks are gracious and Caring hosts who strike the perfect balance of help when needed and privacy for all. The apartment is well stocked, the view is amazing and the grounds are ideal. We walked the creek, saw lots of deer and wildlife, sat on the porch for hours and listened to the rushing creek waters. It was hard to leave.

40th Anniversary

Over all this was a great experience. Owners of the property were very gracious and helpful. The property its self was scenic and very relaxing. You are stay in the lower half of their residence but we didnt hear them at all. Again we cant say enough good things about this getaway . Thanks

Spectacular! Gorgeous Serene Proptery

This was truly an amazing getaway for us, The Host Joe & Joceline was Simply Marvelous! We completely enjoyed everything. The place the company along with the Privacy. Perfect relaxing spot!

We were visiting to help a friend so we didn't spend much time there, but the time we did was wonderful! Sitting on the porch listening to the creek flow and watching lighning bugs was the best! We haven't had lightning bugs in Florida in forever! Highly recommend, Joceline and Joseph are perfect hosts!!

Creekside serenity

Truly enjoyed our stay at Creekside, the Volks really put effort into a peaceful and tranquil home. Joseph was extremely hospitable from the first glance of us pulling up the driveway. As we made our way around the backside of their home we fell in love with the backdrop. We made it a priority to sit down and unwind watching the horses from the adjacent property graze. The space was just perfect for our party of two with the right necessities needed.The location was just close enough to Franklin yet far enough to relax. Will definitely plan on returning in the future. Thank you Joseph and Joceline for the warm hospitality and housewarming accommodations.

Wonderful Get Away to Relax and Rejuvenate!

Everything about this property was outstanding. Communication from the host during booking, welcome on arrival and making sure we had everything we needed during the stay, but they are also respectful of our privacy. The inside and out side is well groomed and maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed, even coffee for our first morning. I forgot to bring some. The porch is a sanctuary, I could sit there all day taking in the views and listening to the creek so peaceful. We ate breakfast every morning and drinks in the evening. Built a fire in the fire pit on the last night and enjoyed a cold beer watching the flames. Take the mountain trip offered by Joe, he is a great guide and the views and waterfalls are spectacular. There is so much more I could write, but book some time and see for yourself. We only stayed 3 nights and that was way to short.

Beautiful weekend getaway!

We were in for the weekend for a music festival and chose this amazing spot! The hosts Joe and Joceline made everything welcoming, including a luggage cart if we needed it. The property is just kept beautiful and so clean. Every morning we started our day with coffee and hot chocolate sitting on the porch listening to the sounds of nature. We definitely want to book again to stay longer and take Joe up on the tour! Thank you again for your hospitality!

Awesome experience in OTTO. John and Jocelyn are amiable, generous, and respectful. The cabin is immaculate and fully equipped to make you feel like you're at home. The place is spacious and features a spacious bedroom and bathroom, a spacious living room, a modern kitchen, and a laundry area. There is a covered patio and fireplace. There is a sound of water running in the creek, birds, and horses. Awesome Wild Life Experience. John took us for a ride on his four-wheeler at the top of the mountain, we saw the surrounding mountains and Franklin City.... Jocelyn and John, we are grateful for the wonderful hosting experience. We are looking forward to returning soon.

Joceline is a retired operating room RN with 28 years experience. Joseph, also retired is a jack of several trades. An auto mechanic, art gallery owner, heavy equipment operator and tractor trailer driver all crammed into 40 odd years. Still working part time on truck wreck recovery and driving a heavy wrecker.
