The Tree House: golf, lake, and pickleball at Holly Lake Ranch Resort

The Tree House sits on 4 lots at Holly Lake Ranch, TX, a resort in the piney woods of east Tx. It allows perfect privacy for our guests, you cannot see another house. The creek area at the back of the property is very secluded and even has a tree swing. It has an outdoor living area on the deck and a fire pit in the yard. Upon walking into the house it immediately draws you in with the stone fireplace and all the comfortable places to relax and enjoy company or just enjoy viewing deer in the yard. The entire impeccably decorated, furnished and stocked house will be yours to enjoy. The kitchen has the dishes and pans to prepare a gourmet meal.
It is located inside Holly Lake Ranch resort where most activities are free of charge. No fishing license is required on the Ranch. Other activities are pickleball courts, tennis courts, walking trails, play ground, basketball courts, Frisbee golf, picnic areas, dog park, badminton, and sand volleyball. Eighteen holes of golf are available for a fee , but the driving range is free. The HOA in 2020 has put a limit per household of 10 persons at each amenity, please abide by their rules. Two lakes for fishing, paddling, and boating. The swimming poolis open during Spring Break and close in September. Guests can access the pool by using the bar code pass obtained when the go to security to enter the Ranch. A full service Restaurant called Whiskeys, and bar are located near the pro shop .
The house is kid friendly and they will like the 6 built in bunk beds. We limit the number of children to 6, not including infants. Toys, games and videos are provided. This home provides plenty of room to spread out and make wonderful memories. Must have owner permission if you want to have over 6 children, it is usually not a problem.

5 Star Stay

This was our second time staying at the property and the experience was top tier. The location is secluded, spacious, and clean. It exceeds our expectations. The owners communicated promptly before, during, and after our stay. The pool was fun, fishing (worms were even in the deck fridge for fishing) was a blast, and we even had an opportunity to pet “Charlie” the deer. We utilized the grill and we didn’t have to worry about purchasing propane tanks because there was a full tank attached and 2 additional on the deck. The residents and security were so friendly. We literally had GOOD VIBES 😎 ONLY. My family and I can’t wait to creat more memories here. Thank you for being so gracious sharing your property.

Wonderful Stay

This home is beautiful and exceeded our expectations! We had three families at this home and never felt crowded. Loved all the places on the deck but mostly stayed under the covered area gathered watching grands and TV. It was so peaceful, could not have asked for a better place to gather for my 60th birthday. We hope to return again!

Ladies retreat

Beautiful, serene property that was clean and well maintained. Communication with homeowner was responsive. Had just about everything we needed and we certainly enjoyed the beautiful outdoor spaces to gather. We were aware of the number of bedrooms and number of bathrooms,and knew that some bedrooms shared a bathroom. What was surprising was that the guest in upstairs queen BR has to walk through bunk room to get to bathroom. Even more difficult, is that the guests in TreeHouse BR have to walk outside on patio to get to bathroom that is shared with twin BR. This would probably work fine for young families but was very inconvenient for us older women who have to get up in the night. Still, it was an interesting house, and we had a good time.

Even Better Than Expected

Everything was great. If anything, the house had more room than expected. Had 10 adults and 3 kids, and never felt cramped. Yard and deck were fantastic spaces, and there was space for people to also kind of go their own way if they wanted some time alone to read or whatever. Everything was clean and well cared-for. Highly recommended.

Relaxing Stay at The Tree House

This is our second time staying at the Tree House and like last time, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was lots of places to sleep, plenty of bathrooms and showers and lots of space to stretch out. The outdoor living room is fantastic when the weather is nice. Saw lots of deer, squirrels, and birds. One our favorite places to relax and catch up.

We love this secluded getaway!

This is the second time to stay here. We have a big family with young grandchildren and it fits our needs perfectly. Very clean and well stocked with dishes, kitchen utensils etc. Easy to reach the owners if need be.

Wonderful Vacation Home

We had a fabulous vacation staying at this vacation home in Holly Lake Ranch. The online pictures were very nice, but the home itself was very impressive in-person and much bigger than we thought it would be and the grounds were beautiful. There was so many fun activities for adults and kids at HLR. We had a great time!

Great stay but won’t return unfortunately

We loved the house, we enjoyed the stay, but after check out some problems arose. The owners were very particular about a few things and that was frustrating. While we were staying there a big rain came through so one little boy went and turned some pavers over to look for worms. He didn’t put them back (It was behind the house so we didn’t see them or we would have moved them back) so we had to pay $100 for someone to come and move 15-20 garden pavers. That seemed crazy high and unrealistic but we paid it and moved on. Upon arrival two of the bunk beds were broken so we weren’t able to use them and then while we were there an adult was getting out of the bunk and the wood underneath snapped. We lifted the mattresses up to see what the problem was and it appeared that they had broke before because multiple slats were different colors and thicknesses. There were not enough slats in the bunks to support the weight. On a positive note the owner said they were going to fix all the of the bottom bunks so they should be good for the next renters.

The tree house

Absolutely beautiful property and home. Outside deck and lighting was over the top. Having a group of 13 it was perfect for us. Dogwoods in bloom and creek nearby with a trail. Enjoyed some time outdoors!

Enjoyed Our Stay at Bear Creek

We have rented a cabin or home every labor day weekend for years. This place has been our favorite thus far. It is very well stocked and maintained and private. Our grandchildren loved the bunk bed room. The back patio is awesome.

LOVE THIS HOUSE AND HOLLY LAKE!

We absolutely loved it! Jimmy and Caroline were awesome to work with as well as their property manager Bobby. The house and property are wonderful and Holly Lake is an awesome family vacation spot. Have already and will continue to recommend it to family and friends. We would love to come back to this house again, but our family is growing too large for it, but already have family members that were on this trip planning a trip to the house as well with other family members. Sent the link to friends as well who want to check it out. We had a wonderful week there, love the house, love the treehouse room!

Big House on beautiful property.

Great property for big family. Always plenty to do at Holly Lake. Driveway is a little narrow so be careful if hauling golf cart on trailer.

Relaxing place to reconnect

My family really enjoyed our stay at "The Tree House." There were plenty of places to hang out and we really enjoyed the outdoor living room since the weather between the holidays was very nice. With plenty of beds and four bathrooms, there was plenty of place to sleep and never a line to use the restroom or catch a shower. The outdoor sink and refrigerator were also put to good use, as was the gas grill, oven, microwave and both coffee makers (we moved the one from the outside bedroom to the kitchen for the week for convenience). The only negatives were that you had to be careful with the stove - my wife accidentally turned on one of the burners without realizing it and melted a plastic bag. Other than that and the surprise of having to pay additional for county taxes (that weren't included in the listing), we had a pleasant stay and would recommend the house to anyone with a big family (or two families combined like we did). One recommendation that we would offer is to see about installing a trundle under the day bed. Having one there would offer another bed and would make that room more amenable to couples. Thank you for letting us use the Tree House. I hope we get to stay there again in the future.

Wonderful House with Lots of Room

We absolutely LOVED staying at the Tree House. There were 3 families that stayed. We all had more than enough room. My children loved the bunk bed room with toys. I loved that a crib was provided for our youngest. We all loved that we had access to the amenities and activities at Holly Lake Ranch Resort. Everyone loved looking for the deer roaming around the neighborhood. We will definitely be back!

Excellent home for our family reunion!

Beautiful home, spacious ; the resort is family friendly with activities for every age. Our only problem was that, although the stove/oven appeared brand new… it did not work properly. I am sure it will be fixed promptly.

Both of us are retired, one from sales, the other an Educator.
We love being retired at Holly Lake Ranch because there is so much to do here and it's beauty. We travel in our motorhome when our house is rented and have seen much of the US and Canada. We have two children and three grandchildren with a fourth on the way. Jimmy keeps the yard in beautiful shape as well as the house.

Why they chose this property

You will not see another house at Holly Lake similar to this home, it is very unique. It is on the Home Tour and everyone who visits here loves this house. The 2500 outside deck really gives so much more room to get out and see the beauty, twin outside TVs are in the outside living area. Also outside patio heater helps when we have cold weather.

What makes this property unique

The house is so roomy that your large family may spread out in the house but not be crowded. With 3 separate living areas it will handle many people. Also having 4 full bathrooms is great, not to mention it sleeps 15 very comfortably.
